On a recent visit to a Muslim graveyard, I see people put rose petals on the graves of their loved ones.
On inquiry, I was informed that the Prophet (SAW) once put a leaf on the grave to reduce the punishment of that grave's occupant.
So my queries are:
1. Does putting leaves/flowers reduce one's punishment?
2. Can leaves as used by the Prophet be substituted by flowers?

**Edit:** I found this question to be somewhat a truth claim question which would attract diversified opinions. So one request would be to ask you to mention in the heading what is your view i.e. Sunni/Salafi/Shias/Suffi etc. That would be great and a lot more helpful.

Is it haram for me to go to a website where there may be non-maharam women
There's this website I need to go to for school (Certiport or something of the sort), sometimes on it's login screen it shows women, is such a site haram for me to go to? (I am NOT trying to stare at the women and I do NOT know here they exactly are when going to the website).

Islam is supposed to hold women to the highest regard but I just can’t reconcile that idea with the idea that sex slaves are permitted. I know that the time was different back then but even so I don’t think anyone right now would say that sez slavery is a good thing. Islam is timeless and Allah (SWT) is All-Knowing so why wouldn’t this be banned knowing it would be shunned in the future?
This answer https://islam.stackexchange.com/a/77913 says that consent is not needed from masters which makes it even worse. There’s also Hadith like Sahih Muslim 3371 and so on that just paint Islam in a bad light.
Wouldn’t it have been better to teach men to control their desires instead of having sex with slave women as this not only makes Islam look bad, it deters people from the religion and makes it seem like women outside of Islam are just sexual objects.

News from my home town reports of an Islamic child marriage :
> A 34-year-old Melbourne man has cried in court while pleading guilty to illegally marrying a 14-year-old bride in an Islamic wedding last year.
The wedding was illegal and the marriage would not be recognized as valid in Australian law; see Getting married . However, this marriage likely meets the requirements of being a legitimate Islamic wedding (after all, it was performed by an imam, although he has since been "sacked"). Hence:
**Question**: Is a wedding which is illegal in the host country still Islamically valid?
If so, it would lead to a tangled web. However, a requirement for a Islamically valid marriage might be that it is legal under the host country's laws.

> In another narration 'Adi bin Hatim (May Allah be pleased with him) reported Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: "**Allah will surely speak with everyone of you without an interpreter.** He (the man) will look at his right side and will see nothing but (the deeds) which he had done before, and he will look to his left side and will see nothing but (the deeds) which he had done before. Then he will look in front of him and will find nothing but Hell-fire facing him. So protect (yourselves) from (Hell) Fire, by giving in charity even half a date; and if he does not finds it, then with a kind word".

And here it says Allah will not speak to these people
> Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said, "**There are three persons whom Allah will neither talk to nor look at, nor purify from (the sins)**, and they will have a painful punishment. (They are): (1) A man possessed superfluous water on a way and he withheld it from the travelers. (2) a man who gives a pledge of allegiance to a Muslim ruler and gives it only for worldly gains. If the ruler gives him what he wants, he remains obedient to It, otherwise he does not abide by it, and (3) a man bargains with another man after the `Asr prayer and the latter takes a false oath in the Name of Allah) claiming that he has been offered so much for the thing and the former (believes him and) buys it."

I thought that video games may fall under the same concept but I wanted to confirm it first.

Salam!
I have come across a sort of a troubling narration about Prophet PBUH's marriage with Sawda R.A:
https://sunnah.com/tirmidhi:3040
At first I was like maybe it was just Sawda R.A being afraid of divorce and Prophet PBUH actually did not actually initiate it but then I came across an article online which quoted a mursal report from some Ibn Sa'd book that the Prophet PBUH actually initiated the divorce and Sawda R.A in order to save her marriage gave her night to Aisha R.A.
It has given me some more doubts than when I came across the narration in tirmidhi...
This isn't sitting well with me... I'm sure I'm missing some context here. The Prophet PBUH cannot just simply decide to divorce his older wife one day??
Besides arent there other traditions for the revelation of that verse (4:128) too?
Can you please take a look and see what the authentic narrative says about this whole situation?

Does Islamic scripture have an equivalent to "be fruitful and increase in number"?
[Genesis 1:28][1] in the Bible states: > God blessed them and said to them, "**Be fruitful and increase in number**; fill the earth and subdue it. Genesis 1:28 in the Bible states:
> God blessed them and said to them, "**Be fruitful and increase in number**; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
(See also Christianity.SE .) A similar verse occurs after Noah's flood in Genesis 9:7 . In Christianity, these are generally interpreted to mean "make lots of babies and populate the Earth".
I'm wondering if Islamic scripture has an equivalent to this, i.e., something encouraging Muslims to reproduce. Statistics indicate Muslims are reproducing rapidly, even faster than Christians.
**Question**: Does Islamic scripture have an equivalent to "be fruitful and increase in number"?
I didn't find an answer to this on a related question on Quora , which is mostly a list of speculation. One (seemingly anti-Islam) answer writes: *"Bacche Allah ke den hain", means "A child is a consent of Allah"*, but I don't know what this means.

I just answered https://islam.stackexchange.com/q/21751/17163 , and it struck me as likely that Sufis might have a different interpretation of anger and a different approach to coping with anger, perhaps more spiritual than other Muslims.
Googling
sufi anger gives two references:
- Sufi University : He says that if you’re angry, then you do the Sufi practice of tawbah and return to divine love now. The tawbah practice can be used to bypass by the past and the 'root' of the problem.
- Sufispirit.com.au : When a person gets angry, this is a form of pride. They are saying, 'I am better than you'.
So it seems likely that there's a different attitude in Sufism to anger. However, I don't know how reliable/accurate these references are among Sufis.
**Question**: What is the Sufi interpretation and method to control anger?

My main reason for learning Quranic Arabic, is that its poetic force simply does not come through in English. The translations I have looked at are, poetically speaking, dull. Which is a pity. And I don't see that changing any time soon.

In order to prepare ourselves before meeting with Al-Mahdi (The Guided One) and fighting against Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal (The Impostor Christ), we have to be able to estimate the arriaval of them. One way to estimate their arrival is to look at the fulfillment of the minor signs of the Last Hour because if all of the minor signs have been fulfilled (excl. arrival of Al-Mahdi) then Muslims are supposed to be strong enough to unite and stand alongside Al-Mahdi to fight against Ad-Dajjal and his minions. So how much percentage of the minor signs has been fulfilled (estimation is OK)?

> will break the cross, **kill the pigs**, and abolish the Jizya tax. Money

Can someone explain the bit about killing pigs? Why is that the case? I have heard explanations that pigs are filth except that there are a lot of other animals that are filth. What's so specific about pigs?
I also understand, that Allah created all animals to be treated with kindness. Does this references that pigs don't fit that category? That they are impure and should be exterminated. Or am I missing something else.
