If you say Bismillah before killing an innocent person does it make it more haram or does it make its less haram?
I wanted to know about the question that I have mentioned above since me and my friend had a debate about it, I personally think that it makes it more haram as your killing an innocent person with no reason in the name of Allah (SWT). What is your opinion on this matter?

I know that, using youtube for spreading islam(e.g. explaining islamic topics properly) is halal and even encouraged by some. But can I take it as a profession? Note that I would upload halal content only but the videos would most probably not spread islam(I think). Let me explain in more details: I have some ideas which I want to implement. Can i showcase these ideas and upload them on youtube? My contents would be similar to Mark Rober or Colin Furze(ckeck the out on yt if don't know them yet). I would earn my money by google ads, taking sponsorship from various companies and maybe by selling some products of my own. Note that my goal would be to upload content that will get the most views (meaning I will try my best to get more views) while not doing anything that would go agianst the shareeah. I read a hadeeth once that told us to not be famous( I can't remember the exact hadeeth and I don't know if it is sahih or not) But by trying to get more views i am trying to be more famous which contradicts with the hadeeth. So, is this profession( and goals) permissible for me?

About drawing and making robots
as-salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him), who said, “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: ‘Whoever makes an image in this world will be told to breathe the soul into it on the Day of Resurrection, and he w...
as-salamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him), who said, “I heard the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say: ‘Whoever makes an image in this world will be told to breathe the soul into it on the Day of Resurrection, and he will never be able to do that.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim). He [Ibn ‘Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him)] also narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Every image-maker will be in the Fire, and every image that he made will be made to appear to him and will torment him in Hell.” Ibn ‘Abbaas said: “If you must do that, then make trees and things that have no soul.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim).
I know that drawing living beings is not halal. But I do not know if the point is about *similarity* or *intention*.
(I am developing games so as you know most of the video games includes living beings like human, animal, etc. so I needed a detailed explanation)
**Abbaas said: “If you must do that, then make trees and things that have no soul"**
So I really stuck in here and I wonder if I can draw living beings that is not similar to its real form (like a(n) body/arm/leg is not looking like a real one or drawing a robot or a 3d model of that) or the things that doesn't even have a real form in the world (I am asking the last part depending on this: if there is no living being as so in the world, because there is no living being like that then it cannot have a soul indeed).
Or, is it still not halal because we are still drawing a living being (even if it is not looking like or even it actually is not existing) ?
It can also be considered for making robots or 3d models of them.
Robots are resembling humans in appearance because they may have arms, legs etc. But they are still not the exact same. Even they have legs their legs is not looking like a real skin. They are only made of cables etc. And it means that they have no soul actually. So I want to ask the same question for making robots or their 3d models or their drawings. Is it haram because it is resembling or is halal because it has no soul indeed?
As a second question, is it halal to draw if the character I draw is fully dressed even his hands are covered with a glove or something so nothing can be seen?
I am not drawing any living being for a long time since I made sure that it is not halal. So if it is halal, I will continue by drawing living things that is not looking like its original form or by drawing things that are not actually existing (like aliens, monsters etc.). If not I'll continue not to draw.
Don't get me wrong I am not trying to find an excuse to draw. Just trying to understand clearly. So please tell me if it is not halal. I need it.
I hope I could explain the point I am confused.
Thanks a lot
as-salamu alaikum

I don't know if they believed her when she said she didn't do it or not and I don't know how it and if it effected her. I grew up and now I feel so horrible for that and I want to apologize to her but the thing is that she left the school and I also changed school and now I have no idea where she is and I can't apologize to her. What do I do? Should I ask for forgiveness or will I not be forgiven at all? Or should I make dua for her? Because one of the major sins is accusing a chaste woman of Zina and I did that when I had no idea and I regret it now
I'm also worried if I have caused problems in her family because of this

Is operating on female patient in this specific condition haram?

I am a MD radiologist. To give some context I live in a non Muslim majority country. I work in a hospital 6 days a week. In our department there are 5 radiologist including me. Only 1 of them is female and rest all are male. And I am the only muslim there. I chose radiology because I had a good rank and it is also the top sought profession with a small closing rank.
Now our typical day involves CT scan, MRI, USG not only of pregnancy but also to evaluate organs like the liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and pancreas, to examine muscles, tendons, and joints, Vascular ultrasound,Thyroid ultrasound, Pediatric ultrasound, Cardiac ultrasound (echocardiogram), Prostate ultrasound, Other Ultrasound-guided procedures. Now we do have a good patient load hence everyone is busy. For female reproductive part disease related and breast related issues the female radio handles it almost 99% of time and also there is patient preference in this case. Rest work is done by division of labour.
Now as far as how work is concerned there is a male and a female attendent for respective genders regardless of the doctor's gender they do all covering, uncovering positioning, etc. We keep a device on belly(for ultrasonography) or the parts(for other disorders, not pelvis and breast for me) and it captures the image(so no direct physical contact), I study and report. A or two family member is always present and the attended is also there for full time.
I always keep my gaze lowered, don't look anything more or less than what area is required, nor go in excess talking with women. Sometimes there is emergency for female patients and I by duty have to attend it(we have divided work load).
Am I sinful for operating on female patients, like ultrasonography or say artery blockage in hand, broken bone or blockage in back?

Assallam allaikum, I wanted to ask if playing shooter games where you have to kill opponents or AI enemies is halal or not. some sheikhs said the same thing that it isn't halal since it is violent and may impact children behaviour and personality and such but many muslims have tried to argue back saying
they have not noticed change in both their personality and behaviour not in recent times nor ever. in other words the concept of killing or hurting others in real life didn't come to their head and I felt the same too. However ofcourse I am not a mufti or someone knowledgable enough to decide what is haram or halal for myself. So if I am concious enough to see the effect of such games or not does that still make it haram for me to play?

Assalamu'alaikum. I want to buy and play a life simulation game called The Sims 4.
The game lets you control the character's life (their basic needs, career, relationships, etc).
It has two modes, the first mode is creating a character and playing that character. The second mode is build mode where you build the house.
The character life mode has kissing, uncovered awrah and a lot more haram stuff in it for me to list. Basically it resembles the western culture.
Build mode is just building houses, design interiors, placing the furniture, decorating the garden and other things. No characters.
I choose this game because I see no house building games better like this one.
I only want to play the game just to build houses and design interiors.
I can even learn some interior architecture stuff and see the real picture of what the house looks like rather than sketching it.
I avoid playing the animated characters and mute the music in the game.
Is this allowed? Is this permissable? Jazāk Allāhu Khayran.

I want to know whether Islam allows this function?
I need authentic answer because, now that I'm pregnant, my family people are planning to do so. My intuition is that Islam does not allow this kind of function. But I want proof that this is not allowed from hadith and Sunnah.

HHS.gov write about mental health:
> Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.
>
> ... Many factors contribute to mental health problems, including: (a) Biological factors, such as genes or brain chemistry, (b) Life experiences, such as trauma or abuse, and (c) Family history of mental health problems.
Poor mental health and mental illness can lead to negative consequences, such as suicide and self harm, along with other unsocial behaviors, e.g. drug use, excessive drinking, excessive dieting, gambling, and so on. Included in this list are behaviors strongly forbidden in Islam (i.e., they're major sins).
**Question**: Is mental health treatment sufficient to make permissible otherwise haram acts?
It's widely accepted in Islam that *necessity overrides prohibition* (الضـرورات تبیح المحظورات) provided there is no alternative, e.g.:
> ...If a forbidden insulin is the only choice, a religious leader or doctor should be encouraged to mediate and reduce the patient's guilt feeling and spiritual pain. **These advisers would use the doctrine of ‘the sanctity of life’, permissible in Islam.** It means that life must be saved at all costs. -- Bashir Qureshi, Diabetes in Ramadan , J. R. Soc. Med. 2002.
While mental health treatment can be life saving, it doesn't usually take the immediate form "undergo treatment X and you'll be cured". Personal friends who have taken antidepressants report a "trial and error" nature, i.e., we can't know in advance whether a treatment works for a particular patient (if it doesn't work, try another medication). So it's not obvious that "necessity overrides prohibition" applies to mental health treatment. Likewise, I'm uncertain whether mental health treatment falls under the umbrella of the hadith:
> The Prophet said, "There is no disease that Allah has created, except that He also has created its treatment." -- Abu Huraira , [Sahih al-Bukhari 5678] (sunnah.com )
Two prominent examples of conflict I've found in the medical literature are: (a) Muslims not taking medication during Ramadan, and (b) Muslims refusing to take medicine involving pork products. For example:
> As ingestion of pork or any of its products is totally forbidden in Islam and it may be considered as committing a sinful act. So if this issue is not identified and addressed, then patients may not only stop taking their medications, and hence leading to relapse of symptoms, increasing hospitalization rates, and increasing healthcare costs but also lead to a poor doctor-patient relationship. -- Sabry and Vohra, Role of Islam in the management of Psychiatric disorders , Indian J Psychiatry. 2013.
Also, surveys report unwillingness of Muslims to acknowledge and seek treatement for mental health issues (interpreting them as e.g. tests from God, or possession by jinn):
> Even when Muslims have positive attitudes toward mental healing, social stigma remains strong. -- Ciftci, Jones, and Corrigan, Mental Health Stigma in the Muslim Community , Stigma, 2012.

Salams all - I'm wondering about charging money for an Islamic dream interpretation service that I provide via my online tool Dreamstate (https://dreamstateai.replit.app/) .
It costs me money to provide the tool (about $100 per month for various AI products that support authentic interpretations), not to mention the time away from paid work to build and improve it (significantly more $). The first 3 dreams are free, then I currently charge a minimal amount for lifetime unlimited access ($4). I have had feedback that Islamic services like this should be free entirely. But if I charge nothing, I can't continue to work on it.
As a skilled revert who is otherwise unsupported financially, should I give up on building Islamic tools and go get other work? Then my skills would not be used to benefit the ummah. How does this work? I understand the premise but surely the context matters. Have genuinely been wondering about this for a while so any insights from anyone = appreciated

Assalamu Alaikum,
I am a student, and I work part-time as a game tester to earn some money. All the other games I test do not involve cryptocurrency, but there is one game I am currently testing that includes crypto. However, I am not directly involved in anything related to crypto (such as trading, promoting, or managing transactions). My job is only to test the game’s mechanics, report bugs, and provide feedback on gameplay.
I am concerned because I know that cryptocurrency can sometimes be linked to speculation, gambling, or other haram activities. However, my role does not involve handling the crypto aspect of the game. Since this is my part-time job as a student, I want to make sure my income is halal.
Am I still accountable for this, and is my income considered halal in this case?
I would appreciate any guidance on this matter. May Allah bless you all for your help.
JazakAllah Khair.

My brother works for a car leasing company as a frontend developer, and he has been for 6-months now. Last week he realized something disturbing: there is a riba component to the cars that customers rent. It may be naive of us, but no one in our household was aware of this.
Now, he does not actively work with riba related transactions (he doesn't make the contracts, doesn't witness it, and he doesn't do any calculations with riba), he just makes the user interface for the website and mobile app where customers can assemble their car etc.
I am worried that his work there is haram because of the riba aspect of car leasing, even when his involvement would be more indirect.
And if his work is haram, would it be okay for him to stay with the company while he actively applies to other lawful companies with the intention to leave when he gets the chance? He is still a junior frontend developer so his job options are a bit limited (companies here are mostly searching for medior or senior developers) so it might take him a while to find something else. Would it be okay for him to stay with his current company until he finds something else so he doesn't face a financial loss & he continues gaining more experience so it will also in sha Allah be easier for him to find another job?
It is very important to him (and to me as well) that his work is pure and halal. His intentions are to work somewhere lawful so he is very worried and upset right now, so your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
A worried sister
