My work usually pays for my accommodation as I travel. Ordinarily, I stay in the cheapest possible place (e.g. backpackers), but sometimes I stay in more expensive places even though it's not strictly necessary. There'll be some justifications, e.g. the conference will be more convenient to get to; I didn't have time to optimize my bookings; I don't want to make my lab look like it's "cheap"; to avoid staying in mixed-gender accommodation.
**Question**: Is unnecessarily staying in a more expensive hotel and charging it to my employer a sin?
Depending on how you look at it, this resembles "theft"---I could send a smaller bill to my employer by staying at lower quality accommodation. My employer is not going to get grumpy at me (usually others stay in nicer accommodation than I require).

An equated monthly installment (EMI) is defined by Investopedia as:
> "A fixed payment amount made by a borrower to a lender at a specified date each calendar month. Equated monthly installments are used to pay off both interest and principal each month, so that over a specified number of years, the loan is paid off in full."
You can read full detail on [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equated_monthly_installment) .

Assalamu aleikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,
My friend and I are planning to invest in cryptocurrency leveraged tokens, specifically BTC, ETH, and Solana, using a DeFi platform called TLX. You can find more information on their website . However, we are uncertain whether this investment is halal or haram.
We have conducted thorough research on the leveraged tokens available on the TLX platform through various sources, including official documentation, ChatGPT, and Islamic finance forums. Our findings suggest that these tokens do not involve riba (compounding interest), unlike those offered by other DeFi platforms such as Toros . Toros creates leverage by borrowing additional assets, resulting in leverage token owners paying interest on the borrowed amount, which is haram. We are avoiding the Toros platform for this reason.
On the other hand, TLX leveraged tokens derive their leverage through synthetic futures from the Synthetix platform, rather than through borrowing or lending (as it is the case with Toros). Synthetic futures mimic the behavior of traditional futures without necessitating ownership of the underlying asset. They are constructed using financial instruments like options or swaps to replicate the price movements and payoff structures of conventional futures contracts.
Unlike traditional futures that require funding fees to align with the spot market, synthetic futures eliminate this need due to their specific expiration dates and settlement terms. This distinction is crucial, as it addresses any potential concerns about the permissibility of funding fees under Islamic law.
Regarding the fee structure of the TLX platform:
- Streaming Fee: The 2% streaming fee covers the costs related to maintaining the leveraged token. Since it is not tied to riba, it appears permissible.
- Rebalancing Fee: Currently set to zero, this fee may be introduced to cover actual rebalancing costs in the future. As it is designed to cover costs rather than generate profit through interest, it seems permissible.
- Redemption Fee: This fee compensates for the service of redeeming the leveraged token, making it a service-based fee rather than interest, and thus permissible.
As far as we know, generally, service-based fees are acceptable in Islamic finance if they are transparent and justified by the provided services. Based on our research, the fees associated with TLX leveraged tokens are clearly defined and service-oriented. There is no compounding or standard interest, and no requirement for staking assets, indicating no involvement with interest-based profit generation.
In summary, the fee structure appears well-aligned with Shariah law. Fahim and I believe this is pointing in a good direction, though we seek your expert opinion to conclude our findings.
**With the provided information, do you consider the leveraged tokens on TLX to be permissible under Islamic principles?**
Thank you for your time and guidance.

If a spouse marries another spouse and they give gifts and things to that spouse. But he/she divorces the other that same night or the next day and run away with the gifts and money. Can the other spouse demand it back?
I have found some fatwa-
From a Fatwa of Al-Azhar University:
"If a woman enters into a marriage with the explicit intent of obtaining money and then divorces immediately to avoid fulfilling her marital duties, this constitutes fraud. In such a case, the husband has the right to request the annulment of the marriage and reclaim any gifts or dowry given. The woman's intention to deceive makes the marriage invalid, and gifts exchanged in an invalid contract must be returned."
From the Permanent Committee of Islamic Scholars (Saudi Arabia):
"A marriage entered into with deceptive intent for financial gain, with no intention of fulfilling the marital obligations, is considered invalid. In such cases, the husband is entitled to reclaim the dowry and gifts given, as they were exchanged based on a marriage contract that was rooted in fraud."
Ibn Qudamah (Hanbali), in his work "Al-Mughni", states that if a person enters a marriage with fraudulent intentions (for example, with the intent to deceive the other party), the marriage can be annulled, and the deceived party may be entitled to reclaim any gifts or payments made during the marriage. This is in line with the principle that fraud nullifies a contract.
Al-Mughni, Volume 7, Page 457: "If a marriage is based on deception, such as one spouse hiding their true intentions or misrepresenting something fundamental to the marriage, then the marriage may be annulled, and any gifts or money exchanged could be reclaimed."
Al-Shaybani (Hanafi Fiqh): The Hanafi school, in general, holds that a marriage based on deception is a form of fraud. If one party is deceived about a crucial fact (like the intention to divorce or other fundamental issues), the contract can be annulled. This would typically lead to the return of any material goods exchanged under fraudulent circumstances.
"Al-Hidayah": The Hanafi text outlines that if the marriage is found to be based on deceit (e.g., false promises), the gifts may be returned, as the basis for their exchange was invalid.
Maliki Scholars: Maliki jurists also assert that deceit in marriage, such as entering a marriage under false pretenses, can lead to annulment. If the marriage is annulled due to fraud, the deceived party has the right to request the return of gifts.
Al-Mudawwana (by Sahnun): It discusses the consequences of marriage fraud and outlines that the deceived party might be entitled to the return of any gifts or dowry if fraud is proven.
Please clarify.

I'm a socially conscious musician. I rhyme about things that occur in society in order to bring awareness. I don't swear in my music nor do I encourage anything that is un-islamic, in my lyrics. A lot of my music has positive messages for society.
I've recently employed someone to manage my gigs and recordings. I sometimes have to perform at venues where they serve alcohol. These institutions pay me for a gig and some of that money is obviously acquired with the sale of alcohol.
What can I do with that money? Is that money considered haram for me to spend? If so, what can I do with it? Can I give it to a beggar?
I know that money earned out of interest can be used to build a toilet for a community. I don't know if I will get that amount of money to build such a structure so some realistic ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Many modern video games feature a free "battle pass" with various rewards, and often include an additional premium tier which can be purchased with real money which gives much more or higher quality rewards, but otherwise works exactly the same.
These battle passes feature rewards which are not received immediately, but rather which are earned over time by playing or achieving set goals in-game. The rewards are often fixed, but may also include randomized drops. There is also a time limit so if the required achievements are not met before the deadline, all remaining unredeemed rewards are forfeit.
**Would paying real money to access the premium tier of these battle passes be acceptable in Islam?** So as not to distract the focus of the question, assume that the video game in question is otherwise permissible.

Assalam alikoum
My question is related to a job I was working on through the internet before, where I was earning money thats in crypto payment method, so basically I was in the niche of NFTs, I dont really know if you know what NFTs mean but if you search it, you will find some information about it.
I was working for marketing agencies where they provide marketing services for NFT projects, and I would bring clients to these agencies to earn a commission. Now, these NFT projects, some have artworks, some have 3D designs, etc, and when I researched, I saw that if NFTs have artworks or designs of humans, then they are haram. My question is: Is the money I earned through getting clients halal or haram even though I wasn't directly selling artworks or spirits or anything, and can I still do this kind of job in the future?
I'm sorry for the long question, but I need a detailed answer on this.
And jazakum allah khayran
