I am a developer. A client asked me to set up a system that collects public real estate data from a site like ImmoScout. The data is public (property details, no copyrighted material like images or descriptions), but the site’s Terms of Service forbid scraping. In some projects, I personally code the scraper. In other projects, I don’t code the main scraper — I just build the infrastructure around it, using a third-party API like Apify that does the scraping. 1. In both cases (building the scraper myself or using a third-party scraper), is it haram if it violates the site’s ToS? 2. if the client keap using the tool, would that be considered continuously participating in sin (siyyi’ah jariyah)?

As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh, I address you with respect and sincerity, seeking guidance and clarity from an Islamic perspective. My name is Dunia, and I am currently developing a professional project focused on luxury travel, exclusive tourism, events, and concierge services. My sincere intention is to serve my clients with excellence, to offer memorable experiences, and—if Allah wills—to dedicate my future earnings to support charitable and halal causes. The purpose of this message is to kindly request your advice regarding the current name of my company: Ambrosio Experiences. I am aware that the name “Ambrosio” has Greek origins and is associated with meanings such as “immortality” or “food of the gods.” As a Muslim, I firmly believe that there is no deity but Allah (Subḥānahu wa Taʿālā), who is perfect and in no need of sustenance. I never intended to promote or associate any divine attributes with anything or anyone other than Allah. When I chose the name, I was simply drawn to its sound. A colleague also liked it, so we selected it. It was only later that I learned of its original meaning. I interpreted it poetically as “unforgettable or lasting experiences,” not in any literal or theological sense. However, I am now concerned—out of love and fear of Allah—that the name may be inappropriate, or even considered haram or bordering on shirk (may Allah protect us). My only wish is for this project to be halal, pure, and blessed—free of anything that may displease Allah or prevent barakah in my efforts. For this reason, I respectfully seek your opinion: • Is the current name Islamically permissible (halal) considering its origin and context? • Or would it be better and more advisable to change the name to something entirely free of such associations, so that the project may be fully blessed and protected, in shāʾ Allāh? I would be deeply grateful for any guidance, fatwa, or advice you can offer. May Allah reward you abundantly for your knowledge, your time, and your sincere help to others in the Ummah. Wa-jazākum Allāhu khayran wa barakallāhu fīkum.

Salam'Alaykoum, I know that falsely claiming a refund (e.g. saying a package wasn’t received) is normally haram due to dishonesty. But what about when the company is a large multinational that openly supports Zionist causes and contributes to oppression in Gaza? Does the ruling stay the same in this context, or is there any scholarly nuance? I’m not doing this — just trying to understand the fiqh position. Any sources would be helpful.

Assalamualaikum, I am a 3D artist and I recently started searching for clients that I can freelance for but I am confused what kind of clients should I work with I mean I know I can't be working with businesses that make haram products so that is in control. But when I make the ads for those companies I do not add any audio but they might add some kind of song or maybe add some haram elements later in the future. So I just wanted to know if it halal to be working with those businesses. Thank you :)

Is owning casinos, liquor stores or a pornography business haram?
I have read that gambling, pornography and alcohol among other things are haram. So would ownership in cam-girl industries and casinos, be considered haram also? Even if the person does not necessarily participate in these activities himself?

AssalamuAlaykum. I'm trying to go into the cosmetology niche with web design. Meaning I create websites for businesses that specialize with cosmetology. Or even cosmetology schools. I know in these websites they show women with their hair and sometimes even awrah because that's what they teach you to do. How to cut hair, do nails, etc. Is it permissible to create websites for these people? The money I get means nothing if Allah doesn't like it.

"Bing Rewards is a program where users earn points by searching on the Bing search engine and completing tasks, which can then be redeemed for rewards like gift cards. The program allows up to five accounts per household, but I am the only one in my household who uses Bing. I created and use all five accounts myself to earn more rewards, as my family does not use the platform. Additionally, I am considering creating more than five accounts and doing the tasks (such as searches) to earn even more points. Is it permissible in Islam to create and use these multiple accounts for the purpose of earning more rewards, even if it might go against the platform’s intended use?"

The title is only really one half of the question, as what I'm really unsure about is the fact that the majority of slaves throughout the Islamic slave trade were bought and not acquired through war. I would be under the assumption that with how much the prophet ﷺ abhorred capturing free folk and kidnapping them, that it would be prohibited in turn to purchase slaves from foreign bodies which they had acquired via the very kidnapping which was not forbidden for them. > Narrated Abu Huraira: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Allah says, 'I will be against three persons on the Day of Resurrection: -1. One who makes a covenant in My Name, but he proves treacherous. -2. One who sells a free person (as a slave) and eats the price, -3. And one who employs a laborer and gets the full work done by him but does not pay him his wages.' " Sahih al-Bukhari 2227 https://sunnah.com/bukhari:2227 Yet that leads to another problem in which how could it then be possible for any of the slaves acquired by non-muslim forces to be permissable in that sense as they have not acquired them from a holy war, nor have they had to follow any of the islamic principles. The reason why I say it's only one half is because I'm also wondering what the actual stipulations are for Muslims to capture slaves. I keep seeing contradicting answers on this site or it just being incompletely explained elsewhere, but is the acquisition of slaves only the combatants and non combatants who were present at the battle or does it include the cities of conquest? Because even if a minority of slaves historically were gained from Muslim conquest, there's no way so many women would be present in the battle fields throughout history for Muslims to have such a large ratio of female slaves and concubines. As such I'd be led to believe that POWs included the common folk of cities under siege and conquest by the Muslims as well, but is it so? And finally, sorry for adding an emotional response rather than rational one at the end, but is it not unfair that in the case that we could trade and buy slaves from non Muslims regardless of how they were acquired, or rather the fact that they ended up slaves for reasons unrelated to being against the Muslims in any way shape or form? They were not fighting the Muslims, they were not complicit in anything, in the case of kidnapping they had been guilty of absolutely nothing. > Shaykh al-Shanqiti (may Allah have mercy on him) said: “The reason for slavery is kufr and fighting against Allah and His Messenger. When Allah enables the Muslim mujahidin who are offering their souls and their wealth, and fighting with all their strength and with what Allah has given them to make the word of Allah supreme over the kuffar, then He makes them their property by means of slavery unless the ruler chooses to free them for nothing or for a ransom, if that serves the interests of the Muslims.” (Adwa al-Bayan, 3/387) Of course this builds upon the idea that my first supposition is true though lol.

I am a freelancer and working with people from all over the world is common for me. But whenever I receive an offer from a client residing in **Israel/France**, I find myself standing in a complete confusion whether to work with them or not. Unfortunately I could not find a clear cut answer for this so posting it here now with high hopes. So the thing is I am aware I should not do the work with anybody if it involves anything anti-islamic like Betting, Winery etc but in most of the cases, work involved is all good but then I think Israel is an illegal oppressive state and they would get taxes from that client I would work with. So indirectly some of that money is gonna get used against Muslims. Same is the case with France, they promote Islamophobia at a state level and do other blasphemic contests as well. So a French person's tax is gonna get used by their Govt in in that regard too. So wouldn't it be Haram to get involved with such people and work? I understand somebody may think that this logic makes working Haram with US citizens as well because they launch anti-muslim activities too but the thing (I think) is US does not do it openly. Those are their secret missions or what so ever. But France and Israel do it openly and back such anti-islamic activities publicly. Share your valuable thoughts please.

We're a group of students, studying at a prestigious University, we had to shift from city campus to its permanent campus due to some new Govt. policies. Currently we're living in a rural area and have been facing various problems, but the main issue abou which I am going to request you to clarify me is that, over here two students have made such an accommodation crisis that if you need a room for living you have to take the room from them with double and sometimes tripled rent price than if you were able to take it directly from the owner of the building. For example, a room would cost 1500 bucks per month if you take it from the owner, but now you have to spend 4000 bucks (more or less) for that room monthly only because of those two students, as they have already taken those room and left us with no choice but to take rooms with that high price from them. And due to lack of adequate apartments, we have no alternatives to stay in other places or buildings as they have taken all of them and making a lot of money out of it. And we are the victims of their business. Now my question is, what they are doing, according to the rulings of islam, is it halal or haram business?

If I am ordering something for manufacturing based on my unique custom needs, like furniture for example, without providing material by my side, I want to know regarding payment options I have with me. Options like to pay full in advance or in parts or at the end. I know that I can use bai-as-salam method to pay full in advance. And there's something like Istisna which allows me to pay in parts or at the end. But I am concerned about proof validating the Istisna. I couldn't find reference in any hadees. People mentioned that prophet [saw] ordered for manufacturing of finger-ring and pulpit as proof for Istisna, and I found that hadees in Muslim and Bukhari, but payment method isn't mentioned in those hadees so it doesn't seem as a proof. The other proof being mentioned is the ijma of scholars for Istisna to be correct, so I wanted to know the proof or reasoning which scholars have put forward for this, and preferably it should also address why the general rules which are being not followed here, like one must have possession before selling and there should not be debt from both the sides. Jazakallah.
