I've a question regarding the subconscious mind: Is it haram to believe in the utility & utilize, the scientifically proven parts of the subconscious mind? Like I know there're quite a few aspects around subconscious mind like "Law of attraction", manifesting, subliminals, "The Secret" stuff that's completely haram & might even be shirk. These have no scientific basis either. I don't believe in those. I don't believe in the core idea of manifesting. But some elements of the subconscious mind has been scientifically proven like the placebo effect, power of visualization(mental imagery) etc. Can I believe in those as one of the blessings from Allah & try to utilize them for my benefits(health, productivity, professional? Jazakallah Khairan.

How to refute Jeremy England's hypothesis?

One of the brothers who runs a blog called fussilat supposedly admits that covenant 7:172 is a form of testimony of faith. Can this be taken as a basic testimony to assume the new borns irrespective of their parents religion be considered muslims. Hence the wider question, the testimony of faith is only affirmation of ***BELIEF IN HEART*** (Quran 49:14) and the person is a muslim with Allah and ultimately prove that chidren of muslim parents are also muslims without saying and understanding the wording of popular testimony?

Why Allah is not helping me with very little wish

Assalamo Alaikum! Alhumdulillah, I am a muslim girl who loves her religion and a strong believer in ALLAH and His actions. I will not say that I am very religious because I have done sins, made mistakes all my life like any other human being would do however, I am someone who would recognise her flaws and do try to work on them. I try to say my prayers regularly and would try to avoid doing sins as much as possible. I used to have very thick and long beautiful hair, clear skin etc but in the past few years, I noticed extreme hair loss and extreme acne on my face. This change was rather a sudden thing, I consulted doctors but there is nothing to worry about or any health issue. My hair is so thinning that I feel I’m going bald and might never be able to recover. I am not married yet and I feel I have become so ugly that no one would want to marry me, even if someone does, they surely will not be able to live with a bald wife for long. I believe more in Allah than science or medicines, in research, it says that hair loss is permanent and irreversable. However, I didn’t believe in it and decided that I will seek Allah’s help as there is nothing impossible for Him. And so I did, I started praying more regularly, made duas and requested Allah to make my hair healthy and skin clear like before with the hope that Allah will help me. It’s been six months now and there is no change but feel my condition is not getting better but worse. I know that Allah doesn’t like when one loses hope in Him and I strongly believe that you should never lose hope in Allah because ultimately Allah does support His followers. However, considering my current situation, I hate to say but at some point, I cry and start to lose hope because I think that when a muslim makes duas and Allah doesn’t grant him, it means He has something better planned for him. But in my case, I am just asking Allah to make my hair normal as they used to be and not make me go bald then what better there could be for myself and for my hair if Allah is not granting my wish. I have started to feel helpless and I ask Allah that I haven’t wished for something that is bad or anything, living with baldness will make my life hell and I will not want to live anymore. Of course, I’m only human, a woman and I can only tolerate to a certain level. I feel too depressed becauss of thinking that I have only asked my hair back but Allah might never grant my wish because all I can see is progressive hair loss with no sign of healing. I know people might think that why is she depressed over such a small thing but trust me these things could cause extreme Mental Health issues and low self-esteem that a person could forget to smile or lose hope to breathe. The more heartbreaking thing for me is that I have seeked Allah’s help and had such strong belief that only Allah can help me but no one else. But I am just losing hope and feel so depressed. Can anyone please advise me what to do and how to connect more with Allah so He could help me and I don’t lose hope. Jazak Allah Khair for taking the time to read this and I would appreciate your kind response.

Based on some answers here on this website and on other websites and my basic knowledge of Islam I have come to the following speculative idea (Please correct me if the idea is wrong): Islam is an act of submission to God. It is a humbling experience for the muslim believer to submit to God, where the human should willingly submit his powers to god the creator of everything. These powers include finances, social status, body, and most importantly (for the sake of this question) mental power. This is why god refuses to provide decisive evidence (like a mathematical or a scientific proof) for his existence or for the truth of his messengers. Out of his pride he refuses to give decisive evidence, but out of his mercy he accepts to give only suggestive hints. If the human believes in him even despite of lack of decisive proofs, this is also when the worshiper was humble enough to submit his/her mind to god . I see evidence for this speculative idea in the following examples: 1) In the story of prophet Moses: When Egypt's Pharaoh tried to admit belief in god while drowning after seeing the miracle of sea splitting, his attempt to believe was rejected by God. 2) In one of the Prophet's sayings (PBUH) that people's believes after the sun rises from the west will no longer be accepted. Question 1: Is my speculative idea correct ? Question 2: In case the answer to question 1 is yes, then why does god provide miracles as evidence of him if belief using miracles as evidence will be rejected ?

I often recall my memory from the past when I was first recognised God. When I was a child and misbehaving and my mother said "Remember God is watching you" and reply "Who's he(God)"?. That memory casts me doubts regarding whether it's true that everyone is born with instinct to believe in God. I often think that is it possible that it's not true for everyone and often think that could it be the case that some believe in God not because it was in their instinct but that is what they were told since their childhood?

I know that Allah raised certain Prophets status and preferred some over the other. But on the basis of this saying that because that Prophet was more noble and virtuous or saying more specifically that He committed less sins(minor) than the other. Is it Right? Obviously all Prophets are holy and infallible. But does considering one more infallible than the other falls under the verse "We make no distinction amongst the Prophets"?

There seems to be a commonly held belief that the prophet Muhammad (and the prophets in general) are somehow protected from ever committing any sin. I have seen nothing in the Qur'an to suggest this, nor am I aware of any authentic hadith to support this claim. It has always been my understanding that the prophets are men like any other, specially chosen by the Almighty to relay His message but not necessarily granted any rights and privileges other than what He has explicitly stated; the Christians for example make a big deal about Jesus being sinless, but they have evidence from their own Scriptures to support this. Even if the other prophets were among the best men of their generation, they would still be susceptible to the same trials and temptations of any other man, and thus to sinning. **Question:** Note that I am not asking whether the prophets were *forgiven* for their sins; God is *Al-Raheem* so I have no difficulty accepting that. The question is about whether the prophets in general, or Muhammad (PBUH) in particular, ever sinned in the first place. Where does this Islamic belief of sinlessness come from? Does it have an authentic source?

This issue got my little attention when I first watched a video sent by my shia friend of a scholar named Hassan Allahyari who holds the view that the quran that we have in our hands is distorted and original quran will be brought by the hidden imam i.e. imam mahdi. I already knew that this subject is used as a weapon against each other by sunnis and shias. Sunnis start first by accusing them of belief of tahreef doing takiyya and shias in reply don't remain silent and bring narrations from the sunni books hinting as though it's a distortion. The web is full of this fighting stuff by both sunni shia sites discrediting each other. My question is now is there is no denying that these kind of narrations do exist, in both sunni and shias books even in bukhari and muslim and other sunan books as well. Here in Pakistan sunni scholars too admit this ,though some reject it completely despite of their authenticity and others make taaweel. Majority shias also disown this belief saying this is a propaganda and false allegation against shia as shias have always been a subject of hatred. Now here in subcontinent a scholar named Hassan Allahyari gained popularity and started disseminating this doctrine of distortion openly and people have started believing in it. My question is what should a common Muslim react towards these and view or doctrine it should hold especially when this era of chaos and secterianism where these kind of heated controversies makes him question his faith? And why are sunni so dishonest by maligning and falsely accusing the opposing party of tahreef when their own books are full of this stuff?

We all know for sure that Prophet Muhammad Sallahu alayhi wassalam was the last Prophet and the seal of the Messengers and he received the final revelation or the "Divine Message". I and most Sunnis believe that the Guidance is only from Allah and following the message of His Messenger (Sallahu alayhi wassalam) and infallibility in religion belongs only to the Prophet. However, I heard that the Shi'ah believe that the Imams also can guide people and are infallible. Is there any Qur'anic ayah or Hadiths that prove the same? Correct me if my understanding of the concept is wrong.
