My school has themes for each school year, this time the theme is an anime, but now is that our theme is based on a character who calls himself god

My school has themes for each school year, this time, the theme is (based on my understanding) is anime, but the problem is that the character our theme is based on (used for shirt color) is a character who calls himself god,more specifically "god of festivals". I don't wanna spend a school year where it is literally shirk! I wanna know the answer. Should I take part in any school events,have fun during my school year,wear the assigned shirt color?
