It is commonly believed that if someone leaves Islam, by Sharia law the punishment is death. Is that true? I have heard some different opinions. Dr. Zakir Naik was once asked a similar question and he responded that the punishment is death only if you tarnish Islam image in public and are publically against it. In that scenario the situation is similar to a revolt against an Army and hence punishment in that case is death. However, Islam is not an Army but a religion. What is the correct verdict in this regard?

Divine punishments of opressing tribes?? All of them even kids?

I have been married for 7 years and Alhamdulillah I have a wonderful husband. However, from initial stage of marriage, I have difficulties adjusting with my in laws, specially my mother in law. She is not evil but I can not tolerate her for long time like more than weeks. Because she has a habit of changing things around and she always mess up my home without my permission, takes things without asking me. And also always interfere where I go and indirectly lectures me and wants me to cook and all. And since she tried to be typical from beginning, I could not accept her whole heartedly. I have never interfered if my husband fulfils his obligations towards them but I never wants to live near them. Since I have moved abroad and they are also coming here, I do not want to live in same city as them (they have other children here). If I pray to Allah to not have a situation where I have to live with or near them since situation of living with or near them always creates problem between my husband and me, will I be sinner?

I recently converted to Islam, and there are things that I don't understand. However, I am seeking answers. I have read a lot about how Allah forgives a person's sins if they sincerely repent from the heart, feel genuine regret, and strive not to repeat them. However, I came across an article on the internet that is unclear to me. Here is a quote from the article: "The first way to avoid or mitigate the punishment of Allah is sincere repentance. If a Muslim sincerely repents of a sin after committing it, then this repentance can contribute to the weakening of the punishment or forgiveness." This statement mentions both weakening the punishment and forgiveness. Does this mean there are cases where Allah may not completely forgive a sin but instead lessen the punishment? What exactly is being conveyed here? Is this an established Islamic teaching, or is it just the author's interpretation and should not be taken literally?

I do realize this question has been asked before here: https://islam.stackexchange.com/questions/32860/why-does-allah-create-someone-whose-fate-is-hell Yet I feel I should ask again and maybe in a bit of a different manner as I don't believe the answers on that post were adequate. I'm wondering from an Islamic perspective, if Allah knew that some people will end up in hell, why go through with the creation anyway? What purpose does that serve for Allah? Note: Some people seem to be confused and don't understand my question and they think I'm not understanding the purpose of hellfire and that it is to punish people who do wrong, when in fact all I'm asking is about the creation of those who will end up in hellfire. Please don't resort to explanations for why hell was created or why people go to hell, etc. This doesn't answer the question being asked.

A Man who kills 100 people If the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment argued amongst themselves regarding him. Are there 2 angels of death? One is mercy and the other is wrath. Does this suggest that there are 2 angles of death? Malak al-Maut, or the angel of death, is a single entity responsible for solely extracting people's souls in Allah's time. There are two different group angles of assist. They have two distinct roles: mercy and wrath. The Angel of Mercy will make a person have a peaceful and easy death (but it is not guaranteed that they will have a peaceful death); however, if the Angel of Wrath processes the soul, the person will receive punishment and have a hard soul extract (but it is not guaranteed). Is it 2 in 1.

Assalamualaikum, on behalf of one of my friends I am asking the question. She is unmarried ( never ever was married,) and unfortunately has Committed fornication with a married man.Now what will be her punishment to cleanse the sin? As hadith says, If an unmarried woman and an unmarried man commit fornication they will receive 100 lashes and if a married woman and a married man commit fornication they will be lashed 100 time and stonned to death. Here in the case, the woman is unmarried and the man is married, what will be punishment specifically for both of them? As hadith didn’t clearly describe this kind of act be done. ( by an unmarried woman and a married man). Will the woman also be stonned to death because committing it with a married man? Or she will just receive 100 lashes?

Every punishment has its severity according to its crime. So even if someone does delibritly shirk and by doing that obviously nothing would happen (affect) to the authority and Allah's power or oneness, so why so much hatred and severe ( eternal punishment ) that it doesn't have any actual consequence to Allah's power and dominian. Even if you somehow justify this, still it won't make sense, because if shirk is a sinn to be that great "unforgivable and intolerable" then Allah woudn't create this world or atleast those people who would do shirk ( based on his knowledge of the future ) . So its a catch 22 situation, if sin of shirk is that much "hated and intolereted" then God wouldn't Allow this creation on the first place because of the "hatered and intolerable" the sin of shirk is, if he Allows the creation (with it's sins of shirk) to happen then it means it shouldn't be an unforgiven sin and obviously no eternal hell as punishment. Imagine it for yourself, if you hate something unconditionally will you allow that thing to happen (if you have the power), if yes, then in reality you didn't hate it to begin with.

It is narrated: >The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “The one who repents from sin is like one who never sinned.” And the one who did not sin cannot be punished. Does this mean that if someone is found guilty of murder or rape, but he repents prior to the trial, he can be let off without any form of discretionary punishment? What if it so happens that the forgiveness prior to the trial was completely insincere or worse yet, there is a great chance that person may commit the crime again?
