Yet no scholar ever stated that dying hair was obligatory. Why was it so? Any command from prophet (saw) is obligatory unless evidences suggest otherwise. So were there any evidence as to why dying hair is not obligatory, can you please quote them?

Assalmualaikum, I attend an American high school and graduation requirement states we must have 4 years of physical education. I understand the requirement but, I’m a niqabi who practices full hijab, and the uniform for PE exposes the shape and curves of my body. I have reached out for a change in classes or even an alternative. This was rejected and I was told to basically “suck it up” and that this issue was only my discomfort with changing in the locker rooms. I was also told that this was a new problem I was bringing up and that no other Muslim students had complained about it. In this case what can I do?

Assalmualikum. I am a female living with my mother and siblings. I work as a freelancer and have some savings in my bank account. I know interest is prohibited, but my brother doesn't support us. He never worked 3 years after my father's death, and now he works but spends all his money on himself. I deposited my savings in a bank account, and my mothers and sisters used that money. I live with them, but in order to save myself from that money, I give some extra money from my own earnings, like an amount sufficient for one person's expenses. Am I safe? or am I obliged to bear the costs of my sisters and mother. The interest money is enough for them to run the house, and my brother lives off of that money too.

Who is the prohibition addressed to? Believers, or everyone? In other words, is it a requirement of faith where Muslims are themselves banned from the action, or whether they should also actively seek the picture not to be published by non-Muslims? I am interested in two cases: - generic representation (for instance the one that got López Prater fired recently, a 14th-century image that shows a winged and crowned Angel Gabriel pointing at the Prophet Muhammad and delivering to him the first Quranic revelation) - caricature Finally, I assume a country where blasphemy is not a felony (and the legal system is not base on Shariah)

I have a question but I feel that I have to provide some background info first, so here goes: I have just started learning more about Islam and I'm at a point where whenever I learn something new I tell the members of my family. My thinking so far has been that I'm duty bound to tell them in case they didn't know. And sometimes I catch my self being surprised that a member of my family already knew this thing I'm telling them and they actually expand on it. I'm thankful of course that I gained this extra knowledge but that initial feeling of surprise is a sign of ego. I learned this from this video by Nouman Ali Khan. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtjwtmjbOKE Sometimes the advice that I give also comes out sounding judgmental and annoys the person I'm giving the advice to and I want to leave the person alone but I feel since I have been blessed with this opportunity to learn more about Islam I should try to help that person do the same. Honestly, the issue isn't about the particulars of this "journey of Islamic discovery" as mentioned in the clip above, it's more about getting them to start the journey. This is a long winded explanation of what the problem is before I ask the question, but basically what I'm wondering is what are my obligations of imparting any new knowledge I'm blessed with in regards to Islam for the main purpose of getting members of my family interested enough to search more on their own? Can I just concentrate on learning now? Please provide the hadith/source you got your answer from. Jazaka Allahu Khairan

A friend of mine thinks that the husband needs to earn the right to be obeyed by his wife. I have searched a lot of sources (like islam.stackexchange.com, islamqa.info, islamweb.net, quora.com, aboutislam.net and many blogs and forums), what I have found is, that obedience to the husband is important to have functioning family and it is important for society and the development of the children. Almost all the sources say that obedience to the husband is obligatory for the wife. And if I read all Hadith & Sure related to this topic, one can clearly see that to obey is directly or indirectly a right of the husband, that needs not to be earned from the husband at first (it comes with the marriage & the Mahr). Am I wrong or is my friend wrong? Here is a good summary of my overall understanding of this topic: [Quora: Should a wife obey her husband?](http://qr.ae/TUTF3t) , and here is the main Sure related to this: > الرِّجَالُ قَوَّامُونَ عَلَى النِّسَاءِ بِمَا فَضَّلَ اللَّهُ بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍ وَبِمَا أَنفَقُوا مِنْ أَمْوَالِهِمْ ۚ فَالصَّالِحَاتُ قَانِتَاتٌ حَافِظَاتٌ لِّلْغَيْبِ بِمَا حَفِظَ اللَّهُ ۚ وَاللَّاتِي تَخَافُونَ نُشُوزَهُنَّ فَعِظُوهُنَّ وَاهْجُرُوهُنَّ فِي الْمَضَاجِعِ وَاضْرِبُوهُنَّ ۖ فَإِنْ أَطَعْنَكُمْ فَلَا تَبْغُوا عَلَيْهِنَّ سَبِيلًا ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيًّا كَبِيرًا > > Men are in charge of women by [right of] what Allah has given one over the other and what they spend [for maintenance] from their wealth. So righteous women are devoutly obedient, guarding in [the husband's] absence what Allah would have them guard. But those [wives] from whom you fear arrogance - [first] advise them; [then if they persist], forsake them in bed; and [finally], strike them. But if they obey you [once more], seek no means against them. Indeed, Allah is ever Exalted and Grand. > > [Qur'an 4:34](https://quran.com/4/34) Here are some of the hadith (there are a lot, so I am just posting some): > Abu Hurairah reported that Allaah's Messenger (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "If a woman prays her five (daily) prayers and keeps her private parts chaste and obeys her husband, she will enter Paradise from any of the doors of Paradise she wishes." [Reported by Ibn Hibbaan in his Saheeh] > "It is not lawful for a woman to fast while her husband is present unless she has his permission. And she must not allow anyone in his home except with his permission." [Reported by Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim] > From Abu Hurairah (radyAllaahu 'anhu), Allaah's Messenger (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "When a man calls his wife to bed and she does not come to him, and he spends the night angry with her, the angels curse her until the morning arrives." [Reported by Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim] > In the report of Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim, the Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "By the One in whose Hand my soul is, there is no man that calls his wife to bed and she refuses him, except that the One who is above the heavens is displeased with her until he (the husband) becomes content with her." > The Messenger of Allaah (sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "The woman is the caretaker of her husband's household and she will be questioned as to her responsibility." [Reported by Al-Bukhaaree and Muslim] **Question:** Does the husband have to earn the right to be obeyed by his wife?

But due to my own lack of competence, I came no way near to that goal. Keep in mind that I took absolutely no payment from the client. And also didn't deliver any work. Is repenting to Allah SWT enough in this case? Or will I be held responsible even after repenting sincerely? JazakAllah Khair.

There are some shuyookh who say that niqab and burqa are obligatory because women are altogether 'awrah and they refer to the verse > “And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer palms of hands or one eye or dress like veil, gloves, headcover, apron), and to draw their veils all over Juyoobihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms) and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husband’s fathers, or their sons, or their husband’s sons, or their brothers or their brother’s sons, or their sister’s sons, or their (Muslim) women (i.e. their sisters in Islam), or the (female) slaves whom their right hands possess, or old male servants who lack vigour, or small children who have no sense of feminine sex. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allaah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful” And they take from this verse as evidence that only the eyes can be seen by men who are non-mahrams, **Question**: is niqab and burkha obligatory for the muslim women, and if so why do the majority of muslim women not use it?

From my student days, I have been repeatedly copying materials to learn about some subjects. Since I discovered that this is haram, and I am really afraid of the question, "Where did your wealth came from?", this makes me worried. Because the knowledge is in my head and there is no way to remove it, I am afraid of getting earning from this. Not to mention, there is an obligation to apply the knowledge. What shall I do about it? I can't just seek forgiveness and pay back to every author. I don't even know them all, if I did, I wouldn't remember them all.
