In 2015, there was an Islamic Declaration on Climate Change which was organised by a number of Islamic organisations including Islamic Relief Worldwide, Greenfaith and others. This was presented to the UN and to carry on this work, the organisation Global Muslim Climate Network was set up. Nana Firman, the then co-chair of this organisation said at the time: >Islam teaches us that 'man is simply a steward whilst holding whatever is on earth in trust.' I've read this before - elsewhere. Q. Why is this, is it justified by reference to the Hadith or Qu'ran or both?

Assalamualaikum I'm a Muslim but I keep having doubts about my religion and I just needed clarification on this. in a Authentic Hadith By Bukhari it said Muhammad Pbuh killed a puppy/or made the dog get out of his house because he was expecting a visit from Angel Gabriel but he didn't come until later and explained he doesn't go in houses/places were there are dogs or pictures of living things. If Allah commanded angel Gabriel to pay a visit to Muhammad why would the angel be bothered by Allahs creation?. I've look for an answer to this question for about a month now searching every website and I couldn't get a valid or concrete response. Why would Allah angels be bothered by his creation so much that they don't want to be in the presence of a dog? Every answer I got was so bad it lowered my faith almost empty to the point where I was gonna leave Islam . I've gotten answers like "it was because angel jibreal was not an angel of god but one of the fallen angels and dogs can sense evil things so if angel jibreal would've walked in his cover would have been blown immediately. " another answer similar to that "Angel Gabriel was a demon , in the bible it says Satan disguises himself as a angel of light and is a very good deceiver" And there's so many more . Please if anyone is active on this website and they see this message please give me an answer as to why this happened.

I do not post myself, nor do I privately talk with males; everything is done in a public setting. A comment told me I am a "hoejabi" because I have a social media account, despite me never crossing the line with any male, and I have no photos of myself on my Twitter. Is this permissible? Thank you

Islamqa.info tells the shahadah can be ***affirmed in its meaning***. https://www.google.com/amp/s/islamqa.info/amp/en/answers/239026 The following are instances in Quran & sunni corpus where people attained Islam with a testimony which is different to the standard one. 1. The magicians of firaun said ***"We believe in the Rabb of Musa and harun"*** Quran 20:70 2. The people of ditch, ashabul aqdood said ***"We believe in the Rabb of this young man"*** [Muslim 3005] 3. Zaid bin amr bin nufayl said ***"O Allah bear witness I'm upon the religion of Ibrahim "*** [Bukhari 3827] 4. Waraqah bin nawfal affirmed that the angel which brought revelation to prophet is called namoos and ***he would support him if he was alive in future*** [bukhari 3392] There is ijma that all above became muslims and waraqah became a companion by that statement of his as per some scholarly opinions. https://islamqa.info/en/answers/182441/was-waraqah-ibn-nawfal-a-companion Since the magicians of firaun didnt speak Arabic, it can be construed that they said the testimony with a identical wording in a different language. So the question is can reverts whose language is not Arabic can say something similar to ***"I believe in deity of muhammad"*** or ***"I believe in deity of muslims"*** to validate to muslims that they follow Islam now? PS: it will ease difficulty of non Arabic speaking reverts, to say the testimony, since Islam is easy [ bukhari 39]

I wanted to find out what is the context of man should leave home in morning to find work? In the days of work from home, it is impossible to find work on-site so how can we make sure the context of “Men should leave houses in morning”? Little background is I am software developer and lost my job, last time left job I was in home and in home my wife was always on phone, when I tell her to stop and give time to home, kids she get angry and say that men should not be home. This is a problem because if I don’t have work I cannot pay co-working space to work but still her relatives think I should. What is the context of “men should leave house after dawn” and how can this be applied to modern day?

I didn't find any question regarding baby showers , so I'll first explain what a baby shower is: it is a celebration for a lady during her 5th or 7th month of pregnancy; In this function, bangles were wore to the lady for her full hands (thus we also call it a "bangle function"). I want to know whether Islam allows this function? I need authentic answer because, now that I'm pregnant, my family people are planning to do so. My intuition is that Islam does not allow this kind of function. But I want proof that this is not allowed from hadith and Sunnah.

In truth, they will go to another place which is not as fantastic as Jannah (heaven), but on the whole that is a good place and actually that is a better than this world. - My initial question is, is it a fact that they go to another place? - Secondly, if so, where is that place and what is its name? (**Note**: I am looking for authentic tradition(s) regarding this matter from Shi'a view)

I joined a Ramadan competition recently. They award the winners by measuring the deeds we did to Allah and the person who has the highest points is awarded. Daily they update a form to fill, it basically consists of the number of Thahajjath rakaths prayed, juzu completed, number of dikrs done, amount of sadakah given, number of tharaweeh prayers. Based on the number we get points on daily basis. My point is, is it right to measure what we do to Allah and tell to them? This question rose because I don't count the number of dikrs I do because I do it with pleasure and go countless, also I don't feel it's right to measure what we do to Allah because Allah SWT doesn't give us countless blessings not by measuring. It's just eternal is what I think. I want to know whether this competition is right or wrong and if its wrong I am ready to quit at anytime.

Does Islamic scripture have an equivalent to "be fruitful and increase in number"?

Genesis 1:28 in the Bible states: > God blessed them and said to them, "**Be fruitful and increase in number**; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground." (See also Christianity.SE .) A similar verse occurs after Noah's flood in Genesis 9:7 . In Christianity, these are generally interpreted to mean "make lots of babies and populate the Earth". I'm wondering if Islamic scripture has an equivalent to this, i.e., something encouraging Muslims to reproduce. Statistics indicate Muslims are reproducing rapidly, even faster than Christians. **Question**: Does Islamic scripture have an equivalent to "be fruitful and increase in number"? I didn't find an answer to this on a related question on Quora , which is mostly a list of speculation. One (seemingly anti-Islam) answer writes: *"Bacche Allah ke den hain", means "A child is a consent of Allah"*, but I don't know what this means.

There are many theories for why this permission was only given to Prophet (Sallallahu'alayhiwassalam). One theory is that he was given this permission to make truce between Muslims and enemies of Muslims. **My main question is: is there any evidence from Hadith or Seerah that this theory holds any water?**

Assalamualaikum, recently, i have learned that backbiting is a major sin. I have doubts on it & some more issues added based on islam. Here they are: Doubt 1. If i backbit someone accidentally or intentionally, do i have to reach out to them even if it's awkward because they don't know me and they are out of my reach? Let me give you an example. My friend had talked about a neighbour living next to us- we both know him. She talked some things about him- though i wasnt sure she would talk bad things or so. Also, I had listened to her words so i bear the same sin as her but its unintentional and accident. What do i do? Also, even if jt is backbiting, Its awkward to seek forgiveness because he doesnt know us since we are strangers. He might get shocked and mom warned us not to talk or visit any strangers house, so it's not possible to ask forgiveness however. Am i forgiven if i just ask forgiveness from Allah?

So I wondering… I’ve found one similar question like this on this site and already read the answers that showed up but I don’t quite really satisfied yet. (I’m not quite sure if it’s okay to just put some usernames so I wouldn’t. I hope this will be okay too, hope you get what I mean). So, I have this question from watched one of Video of Zakir Naik on youtube. This is the link of the video that I had watched just in case there’s anybody want to watch it or take a look or anything : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nr6TPAVE1RU&t=545s So, referring from that video, Zakir Naik mentioned about Surah Al Ahzaab : 72 for answering this question, i guess. Surah Al Ahzaab : 72 : “Truly, we did offer the Amanah to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they declined to bear it and were afraid of it. But man bore it. Verily, he was unjust and ignorant.” I get this from : http://www.quran4u.com/tafsir%20ibn%20kathir/033%20Ahzab.htm So the problem is, I can’t see the relation between the question and the _verse_ (is that right word to say this?) because of the question is more like **ask to: do you want to be human or else** and what written in that verse is **word: man** and this making me assume that we are all already being human when we asked. And word **Amanah**, isn't this just make this verse more likely, **offer the Amanah to human** not **asking do you want to be human or just pass?** So, am I misinterpreting this? Or am I missed something so that’s why now I'm asking this to get more suitable answer? Is there any more verse or hadith or something that has more clear explanation? I hope I explained this right so everyone gets what I mean. Thank you.

I am asking this question not from a personal point of view, but more philosophically. I often come across Muslims who are openly committing every type of sin, and they justify it by saying, "only god can judge me and god will forgive me." I know god is the most merciful and forgiving, however, this seems unfair to those muslims who strive to do good and be good in their lives. I understand that between sins committed against other humans cannot be forgiven by God, and I am not referring to those. I mean sins such as alcohol, zina, shirk, etc. If all we have to do is repent and god will forgive, does this really mean we can live a life full of all sorts of sins, and repent shortly before death, and all will be forgiven ? What is then the incentive to live piously ?
