Is it permissible to charge money for an online Islamic service? If we don't charge, how can we advance?

Salams all - I'm wondering about charging money for an Islamic dream interpretation service that I provide via my online tool Dreamstate (https://dreamstateai.replit.app/) . It costs me money to provide the tool (about $100 per month for various AI products that support authentic interpretations), not to mention the time away from paid work to build and improve it (significantly more $). The first 3 dreams are free, then I currently charge a minimal amount for lifetime unlimited access ($4). I have had feedback that Islamic services like this should be free entirely. But if I charge nothing, I can't continue to work on it. As a skilled revert who is otherwise unsupported financially, should I give up on building Islamic tools and go get other work? Then my skills would not be used to benefit the ummah. How does this work? I understand the premise but surely the context matters. Have genuinely been wondering about this for a while so any insights from anyone = appreciated

Can we seek interpretation of dreams?
Whenever I dream about something, I start wondering if there is any message or some hidden reasons. I have seen online glossaries of Islamic interpretation of dreams. Can we do that? Can the things we see in dream be interpreted?

(not referring to Istikhara) **Edit:** I found this question to be somewhat a truth claim question which would attract diversified opinions. So one request would be to ask you to mention in the heading what is your view i.e. Sunni/Salafi/Shias/Suffi etc. That would be great and a lot more helpful.

Assala-mu'Alaikum, last night I saw a dream where my younger brother was taken away from me and I need to make sacrifices to keep him to me. At first I heard him screaming then I went out and found him drowning in the pond (We live in a city area, there is no pond here). But just the moment I stepped into the pond, my brother was taken in a boat and was sped off to a specific direction. After swimming to that area I found him hanging on a tight place. I somehow took him down from there and was hugging him. Everything was pitch black. Again that boat came and took me and my brother to a area I have never seen before. Empty ground with torches all around. The jinns there talked with me using my parent's face. And it scared me to death. Anyways they wanted something my brother had, I couldn't make that out. And that's why a jinn threw him into the water and I rushed to save him but couldn't as a force was stopping me. Once I yelled I am gonna give them 10 children instead of my brother I was able to get to him and save him. Then the same boat took us home. Note: Our house is kinda jinn proof. Imam did a thing where jinns cannot come aroud our house. Its called 'badhai' in our language. I have sleep paralysis.

I sporadically encounter "Islamic dream interpretation", e.g., there are tools online such as MyIslamicDream.com , eDreamInterpretation.com , Islamic-Dreams-Interpretation.com and more can be found using Google. This surprises me, as (a) there seems to minimal difference between engaging in dream interpretation and engaging in fortune telling, (b) dream interpretation is not haram , and (c) fortune telling is a sin (listed as a major sin by al-Dhahabi ): > Say, "None in the heavens and earth knows the unseen except Allah, and they do not perceive when they will be resurrected." -- Qur'an 27:65 > > [He is] Knower of the unseen, and He does not disclose His [knowledge of the] unseen to anyone. -- Qur'an 72:26 > > "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever... goes to a fortuneteller and believes what he says, he has disbelieved in that which was revealed to Muhammad.'" (sunnah.com ) Islam Q&A even likened fortune telling to shirk. **Question**: How does dream interpretation distinguish itself from fortune telling?

In my very possibly mistaken belief, there is a thin line between religion and superstition that we should not cross. > I want to know whether the activity of dream interpretation is haram according to Quran and sahih al-hadith. There are many ways to do dream interpretation, in particular I'm talking about the type that [this website](http://www.myislamicdream.com/) provides, for example [like this entry about horse](http://www.myislamicdream.com/search.html?txtSearch=horse&cmdSearch=Search) . It cites people's words about the dreams. But people must not make things up, what is their basis to talk about all these dreams? Only what God revealed through Quran and through Muhammad (PBUH) can be a reference, all the rest can only be hearsay, which is a sin. Does that mean such activities should be haram?

I have been really scared because early in the morning around 3-4 am, I got a dream of prophet Muhammad!I was clearly able to see his face! He wore some blue robe like old Saudi Arabians! That man told me that"I am prophet Muhammad! I'm the messenger of God! I will save you from the hardships and pain you undergo! "And he told,"La ilaha ilah'allah Muhammadun Rasulullah"and I also repeated the same! And immediately out of fear I woke up! That man had a long face! Not too tall or short! He was of medium height! His complexion was wheatish brown! Not too fair and and too dark! In the middle of it! He had broad shoulders! He had round eyes! Had long black beard! He looked not too old! He had a book in his hand! Looked like Quran and he had a bright light around him! I am a Hindu girl! What does a Muslim prophet has to do with me?! I'm really scared! When I enquired about it to another Muslim he said it is rare for prophet Muhammad to come in one's dreams! And devil cannot take his forms in dreams! So is that really prophet Muhammad and does he talk to a Hindu girl?!
