As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāhi wa barakātuh,
I address you with respect and sincerity, seeking guidance and clarity from an Islamic perspective.
My name is Dunia, and I am currently developing a professional project focused on luxury travel, exclusive tourism, events, and concierge services. My sincere intention is to serve my clients with excellence, to offer memorable experiences, and—if Allah wills—to dedicate my future earnings to support charitable and halal causes.
The purpose of this message is to kindly request your advice regarding the current name of my company: Ambrosio Experiences. I am aware that the name “Ambrosio” has Greek origins and is associated with meanings such as “immortality” or “food of the gods.” As a Muslim, I firmly believe that there is no deity but Allah (Subḥānahu wa Taʿālā), who is perfect and in no need of sustenance. I never intended to promote or associate any divine attributes with anything or anyone other than Allah.
When I chose the name, I was simply drawn to its sound. A colleague also liked it, so we selected it. It was only later that I learned of its original meaning. I interpreted it poetically as “unforgettable or lasting experiences,” not in any literal or theological sense.
However, I am now concerned—out of love and fear of Allah—that the name may be inappropriate, or even considered haram or bordering on shirk (may Allah protect us). My only wish is for this project to be halal, pure, and blessed—free of anything that may displease Allah or prevent barakah in my efforts.
For this reason, I respectfully seek your opinion:
• Is the current name Islamically permissible (halal) considering its origin and context?
• Or would it be better and more advisable to change the name to something entirely free of such associations, so that the project may be fully blessed and protected, in shāʾ Allāh?
I would be deeply grateful for any guidance, fatwa, or advice you can offer.
May Allah reward you abundantly for your knowledge, your time, and your sincere help to others in the Ummah.
Wa-jazākum Allāhu khayran wa barakallāhu fīkum.

Recently I was talking to a Jewish friend about which religion has more claim to Palestine. He was claiming that Jews do, since Jews come from Judea (an area in Palestine) and it was called this for a long time. I told him that there is proof that it was called Palestine for many thousands of years and there is much proof.
But there is no mention of the name "Palestine" in the Qur'an. So I was wondering:
**What is the proper name for Palestine, in the Muslim tradition?**

God's name: אֱלֹהֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל

Note: this is an honest **religious** question aimed at deepened understanding of Islam, **not** a political one.

My question is about the meaning of the name of this person.
I'm not Arab. As much as I know,
Ibn
means son, and Umm
means mother.
So, this confuses me. Does his name literally means son of the mother of Maktum

Assalamu alaikum
I’ve had the given name ‘Naufal’ since childhood. I’m an adult now and for the first time I have enquired the origins of my name. And the only individual in Islamic history who shares my given name that I can find is **Nawfal ibn Khuwaylid**. Who is described thus:
> However, Nawfal opposed Muhammad and was known as "a satan of the
> Quraysh". At one time he bound Abu Bakr and Talha ibn Ubayd-Allah with
> a rope. Due to this, those two became known as Al-Qareenayn, "the two
> tied together".
>
> He was killed by Ali during the battle of Badr in 624.
The only other I know of is Waraqah ibn Nawfal.
Does my name truly only have this origin in Islamic history?
Please lend me some advice dear brothers and sisters, if this is the only origin in our history, then I would consider changing it, despite what it costs me. I want my name to match my faith.
Jazak Allah Khair

Is there a reason, **besides the virgin birth,** that Isa ibn Maryam is identified as the son of **Mary** in the Qur'an (i.e. a woman, the mother; e.g. such as the high devotion Christians had at the beginnings of Islam for Mary the mother of Jesus), rather than, say, David, as Jesus is in the New Testament (it being, as far as I know, almost unheard of that a man is identified as the son of his mother specifically unless the context makes it relevant)?
