There were some answers on this site suggesting slave women were not entitled to modesty norms as free women were and that they should only cover from the navel to the knee. Wouldnt this contradict prophetic warnings against indecent exposure? For instance the prophet pbuh says “There shall be, in the latter part of my nation, women who are dressed but (in fact) naked, on their heads are humps like those of Bukht (one kind of camel), curse them for they are surely cursed.” At-Tabarani related this hadeeth in “Al-Mu’jam As-Sagheer” p.232. Also "The best of your women is the affectionate , the fertile (in productivity), the propitious (favorable), the consultative if they fear Allah. The Most evil of your women are the Mutabar’rijat (those who do Tabarruj), the Mutakhayelat (who strut/swagger), and they are the hypocrite ones. Those who enter Al-Jannah are like the Cough Crow." These relate to women's dress and their wrongness as such. If slave women were to dress as some narrations suggested wouldn't they be violating prophetic commands?

Assalamualaikum, Recently alhamdulillah I started to (try to) apply the Deen as best as possible and I have lots of shorts in my possession that do not cover the awrah properly (are a little over the knee) As a solution can I wear tight leggings (cover 3/4 of the leg) under those shorts? It's more comfortable than wearing pants and I can still make use of the shorts, but I'm not sure if it's ok for my knee to be viewable in tight clothing publicly. If it's Haram completely, can I donate these shorts to poor people?

I wear loose trousers and loose jeans with loose shirt or loose t shirt which is knee length. In diving, you need to wear tight and short swimsuits that expose the thighs which is a mandatory. This helps to free the legs for more movement to execute it properly and reduce drag. Is it still haram even when it's mandatory ? I've admired the sport and want to potentially be a part of it. But Allah knows best if it's forbidden.

One day, while we were hanging out, it is our own activity to play with each other's smartphone (just for fun generally, to check for any suspicious messages from opposite genders' friends and to make other jealous, joke around etc.). We are very strict in term of maintaining distance between us as well as other restrictions because we fear that our relationship might not be blessed the Almighty God (God forbids), so while playing each other's smartphone, if for example I want to open a certain apps on her phone, I would ask her permission first (in fear that there might be pics of her or her female family members exposing their aurah and whatnot). I was scrolling through her Telegram chat n there was a chat between her and her female bestfriend, I asked her if I can open and read their conversation, she said no problem. Thing is, she might forget this, but upon scrolling through their conversation, I saw a glimpse of her pic without scarf, so for a split second I saw her aurah : her hair. I frozed and was extremely scared , but I covered it up because if she finds out, she might be extremely mad at me and it'll probably ruin our relationship with marriage goal. After that incident, I felt very disgusted with myself and I can tell that I just made a huge huge mistake, though unintentionally, but it was a very big sin that I committed that I almost threw up alone in my car when I remember the incidence. AssalamuAlaykum. I'm trying to go into the cosmetology niche with web design. Meaning I create websites for businesses that specialize with cosmetology. Or even cosmetology schools. I know in these websites they show women with their hair and sometimes even awrah because that's what they teach you to do. How to cut hair, do nails, etc. Is it permissible to create websites for these people? The money I get means nothing if Allah doesn't like it.

But in the above narrations, we can see Ibn Umar (r.a) touching buttocks (over clothes) and touching between thighs but both of those areas fall between navel and knee. Also what does between thighs refer to? Vagina? Also Ali (r.a) is saying it's permissible to look at the buttocks. Me and my family are shifting to a new place in 2 weeks Inshallah. But unfortunately that apartment has only 2 bedrooms. I only have 1 sister and we have love for each other. I and 15 and she is 17. We used to sleep together in same bed till I was 12 but then our parents transferred me to the 3rd bedroom. We both have our own single bed but my question is that can we sleep in the same room?

From the hadith below: - أنَّ ابنَ عمرَ كان يضعُ يدَهُ بيْنَ ثَديَيها ( يعنى الجاريةَ ) وعلى عُجُزِها من فوقِ الثيابِ ويكَشفُ عن ساقِها It tells that Umar[ra] used to shack the breasts of slavegirls in public in market. What is the authenticity of the hadith? Is it permissible?

Is the salat accepted when we pray without wearing any clothing and without seen by anyone? For example praying in the house or a safe and enclosed space naked.

I have seen questions regarding slave women and their male masters but what if the roles are reversed. Can a male slave see his female mistress?

For many medical/biology classes and for the sake of knowledge, students are asked to learn about the human body, while looking at naked pictures (drawn) for both male and female. Additionally, students are also asked to draw body parts and cell structure, in order to know and understand how the whole structure is designed. What's the Islamic position on these 2 issues with regards to the view of tasweer (drawing body parts) and the perspective of viewing drawn awrah? ....all for the sake of knowledge.

I know that Islam treats women with honor and that they are privilaged to be modest and such. However I do not see this reflected onto slave women who were instead obliged to only cover from navel to the knee. here is a hadith that I find troubling: أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: " كُنَّ إِمَاءُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَخْدِمْنَنَا كَاشِفَاتٍ عَنْ شُعُورِهِنَّ تَضْرِبُ ثُدِيُّهُنَّ “Umar’s maids, may God be pleased with him, used to serve us, revealing their hair and stroking their breasts.” Imam al-Beyhaqi records in ‘Al-Sunnan al-Kubra’ Volume 2 page 227 Why are the slave girls made to be immodest among these men. Is this not dishonorable to them and a source of fitna?

I make hair related content, where i share haircare/ growth tips for which i have to show my hair only so that audience can rely on my techniques and sometimes i have to show tutorials for certain hairstyles. But i dont show my face, so is it still haram? Because as long as I know hair itself is not a sexual part, and i am not showing my face , so nobody can have a slightest image of who i am. Because i am thinking to expand it as my hair brand but i am very confused that should I continue or not
