Is the uniform of diving (sport) haram to wear?

In diving, you need to wear tight and short swimsuits that expose the thighs which is a mandatory. This helps to free the legs for more movement to execute it properly and reduce drag. Is it still haram even when it's mandatory ? I've admired the sport and want to potentially be a part of it. But Allah knows best if it's forbidden.
