Is there a hadith "Allah ... commanded me to do away with musical instruments, flutes, strings, crucifixes ..." and is it reliable?
*The Reliance of the Traveller*, by Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri (translated by Nuh Ha Mim Keller) in Section r40.1 quotes a fatwa (كفُّ الرَّعَاع عن محرَّمات اللهو والسَّمَاع Kaff al-ra'a' 'an muharramat al-Iahw wa al-sama' (y49), 2.269-70) by [Ibn Hajar Haytami][1], which concludes that "musical instr...
*The Reliance of the Traveller*, by Ahmad ibn Naqib al-Misri (translated by Nuh Ha Mim Keller) in Section r40.1 quotes a fatwa (كفُّ الرَّعَاع عن محرَّمات اللهو والسَّمَاع Kaff al-ra'a' 'an muharramat al-Iahw wa al-sama' (y49), 2.269-70) by Ibn Hajar Haytami , which concludes that "musical instruments of all types are unlawful". One hadith he uses for evidence is: > Allah Mighty and Majestic sent me as a guidance and mercy to believers and commanded me to do away with musical instruments, flutes, strings, crucifixes, and the affair of the pre-Islamic period of ignorance. (The section is quoted in full e.g. at Muhammadanism.com .) **Question**: Does this hadith exist, and is it reliable? Searching the Internet, I did not find a reference for this hadith. A forum post lists it as in "Abu Dawud", but searching for site:sunnah.com/abudawud instruments (and variants) didn't help me find a source. Other listed hadith in the Ibn Hajar Haytami snippet are classed as weak by others (IslamWeb and FatwaIslam ), which makes me question its reliability.

I have heard from several pious and sincere Muslims I met in my travels who claimed that the Islamic Prophet Muhammad has been prophesied in the Bible. But, unfortunately they could not show me any clear evidence in the Bible. Being a follower of Jesus Christ I have read the Bible several times. However, I have never found once in the Bible about the coming of a prophet called Muhammad. Sometimes I wonder if it is a mere claim or a claim with evidence.

Asalamualikum, Ive had this question for sometime now, but Im too afraid to ask someone in person. Prop Muhammed is deemed as the best prophet of all time, and that there were times when rock spoke about him, trees moved for him.Where as it is said that Prop Suleman had great control over all the realms , the Jins, the Animals, The Wind, the Sea etc. Didnt prophet Muhammed have the same power over all the realms, if yes then why did you not use them in the wars he fought. Thanks in Advance.

How to include Father’s first name as daughter’s last name?
Father’s first name is Allah’s name(Abdul Hameed), how to use the same as last name for daughter. For example, we are naming her Maheen. Would that be correct to name Maheen Abdul Hameed or Maheen Hameed.

Some people claim that chapter 71 (Nuh) contains 950 letters, same as the years for which Prophet Nuh (pbuh) preached his nation according to 29:14 Here are the scanned images, demonstrating how they counted them as 950 1. part 1 2. part 2 3. part 3 4. part 4 5. part 5 6. part 6 7. part 7 Popularly, people count the number of letters in chapter 71 as 953. I wrote a python script to count number of letters and words in a given ayah after stripping all the vowel marks and stuff and it counts the letters in chapter 71 as 953, below will be the detailed output of my program for chapter 71. In those images they have reduced letters in verse: 7, 23, 25. They changed count of these words: 1. ءاذانهم - Saying the alif after hamza is just a vowel but then what about the alif after dhaal? remove that as well. 2. ءالهتكم - Same. 3. خطيـٔـتهم - Removed the hamza, only counted kha, tau, ya, ta, ha, ma; but when we read this word we read: khatyii-aatihim i.e. the ya is the long vowel here and the hamza is a consonant if I did it right, we can't remove anything, there has to be 7 letters in this word. Have they done it the right way or there is no 950 magic in chapter 71?

I have searched about the question and some similar topics in islamweb, islamqa and other questions on this page. According the fatwas and answers I have till now comprehended that- 1) A wife is not obliged to do housework as it is not in the marriage contract. But it is encouraged to do so, if the husband is not able to hire a maid or cook. 2) The wife is obliged to obey the husband in all matter that are not haram and not beyond her capacity. So, my question is that if a man is able to arrange for a maid but not a cook (financial reasons) can he ask his wife to do the cooking? As even though she is not obliged **by default** to do household works, **she has to obey him** in what is within her capacity and not haram. Moreover certain hadith also depicts that women used to do that when the husband was not able to afford a servant. And this hadith states that woman is responsible for the house of her husband - > Ibn 'Umar reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "All of you are shepherds and each of you is responsible for his flock. A man is the shepherd of the people of his house and he is responsible. A woman is the shepherd of the house of her husband and she is responsible. Each of you is a shepherd and each is responsible for his flock." Classed as Sahih (Al Albani). Collected from sunnah.com

Assalamu Alaikum, My name is Amridin, and I am 15 years old. At my school, we have a dance class that all students are required to attend. In this class, we are learning dances where boys have to touch girls’ hands and spin them. However, as far as I understand (and I might be wrong), touching a woman who is not my relative (non-mahram) is haram in Islam and not allowed. My father says that touching a woman is not bad, and it is allowed as long as I don’t have any bad intentions. He says that since I’m not doing anything sexual, it is okay. According to him, we live in a modern world and we shouldn’t follow the Qur’an too strictly, because it can lead to extremism. Now I am confused. I want to obey Allah and also respect my father. Who is right? And what should I do in this situation?

I believe I may have commited blasphemy as purposely and consciously entertaing blasphemous thought and going on to lengths to ponder further on it but I immediately repented and asked forgiveness from Allah Subhanatallah Though it was intentional and deliberate but I was not able to think properly at the moment it was like i was frozen and just furthering this thought. It was like I was in control and, at the same time I had no control over it. Its hard for me to explain it but it felt like I knew it ot was wrong disgusting and vile and blasphemous but i was not able to control myself to stop thinking about it like I was actively thinking more about it like generating more scenarios in my mind.It did not felt subconscious but it seemed very apparent that I wanted to think about it but then i quickly snapped out of it and in my heart and also my intention was never to commit a blasphemy but i kept on intentionally and deliberately thinking about it.

A’isha said that once when God’s Messenger was with a number of the Emigrants and Helpers a camel came and prostrated itself before him. Thereupon his companions said, “Messenger of God, beasts and trees prostrate themselves before you, but we have most right to do so.” He replied, “Worship your Lord and honour your brother. If I were to order any one to prostrate himself before another, I would order a woman to prostrate herself before her husband; and if he were to order her to convey stones from a yellow mountain to a black one, or from a black mountain to a white one, it would be incumbent on her to do so.” Ahmad transmitted it. https://sunnah.com/mishkat:3270 It is graded not studied by Al Albani. Can you please clarify, whether it is authentic or not?

> The Prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his > mention ) said: “Any woman who falsely attributes her child to a > people to whom he does not belong, she has no relation to (the > religion of) Allah.” [Abu Daawood and An-Nasaa’i] Although the wording of the Hadeeth is about women, the ruling applies to men as well. If the husband becomes certain that this woman has committed adultery and falsely attributed her illegitimate child to him and he refrains from denying the paternity of the child, then he would be falsely attributing to himself a child that is not his. Accordingly, he becomes subject to the warning stated in the Hadeeth. This is in addition to the consequences of not denying the paternity of the illegitimate child with regard to rights as he would unjustly take part of his legitimate children’s rights. It was given in a fatwa- https://www.islamweb.net/en/fatwa/406384/husband-abroad-for-3-years-and-once-he-arrived-wife-had-baby So if my understanding is correct, Let's consider a scenario, a wife becomes pregnant by Zina, to hide her sins she attributes the child to her husband, while the husband is not aware of the fact that it is not his child. So, will she be under the wrath of Allah(swt)? Am also curious that will such things be put on trial or be exposed to the husband in judgement day? Edit: Also the Hadeeth in which the Prophet said “He who deceives is not one of us” is an authentic Hadeeth narrated byMuslim, Abu Daawood, At-Tirmidhi, Ibn Maajah and others may also imply that it is a sin to cheat a person.

I have read an article of Christianity which reads as follows: - > They indeed have disbelieved who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary ... 5:17 - > They surely disbelieve who say: Lo! Allah is the Messiah, son of Mary... 5:72 I have never heard any Christian say or read in any theological book the formulation "God is Christ" or "God is the Messiah". The common formulation is that "Jesus is God" (and never, "God is Jesus") or "The Messiah is God". The Qur'anic inversion of the word order is never used, and would, in fact, be wrong as the article What do we mean when we say "Jesus is God"? explains in detail. This is not a modern idea, but one that has been held by Christians throughout the centuries. This was even noted by Muslim author Neal Robinson, who makes mention of an ancient Nestorian reference: > ... The text which dates from around 550 CE. concludes a discussion of the Trinity with the words ‘The Messiah is God but God is not the Messiah’. The Qur'an echoes only the latter half of the statement. C. Schedl, Muhammad and Jesus (Vienna: Herder, 1978), p. 531. (Robinson, Christ In Islam and Christianity [State University of New York Press, Albany 1991], p. 197; bold emphasis mine) Why then does the Qur'an invert the proper statement of the Christian faith? The verse seems to means as though Christians only believe Jesus to be God which isn't the case since they believe God to be three persons? Can anyone correct me if I'm wrong? Anyone please clarify.
