Do Non-Muslim women need a wali to get married?

In [this answer](https://islam.stackexchange.com/a/39757/17702) it is claimed that Non-Muslim women need a Muslim wali to get married under sharia rule: > the wali(guardian) of the Christian woman is a Muslim In a comment to it, it is claimed that Non-ahl-kitab Non-Muslim women need a wali as well: > a Muslim wali is only needed for a Muslim lady or a lady which is not of among people of the book Both these claims are surprising to me as I had never come across similar claims. It was my understanding that in matters of family law, dhimmis were mostly left to their own devices. **Question:** which madhahib (schools of law) require that a Non-Muslim woman must have a wali for getting married, and which of those require the wali to be a Muslim? --- **Remark:** The accepted answer does not offer references for the individual madhahib; if you have any, please add them as an answer.

I am a developer. A client asked me to set up a system that collects public real estate data from a site like ImmoScout. The data is public (property details, no copyrighted material like images or descriptions), but the site’s Terms of Service forbid scraping. In some projects, I personally code the scraper. In other projects, I don’t code the main scraper — I just build the infrastructure around it, using a third-party API like Apify that does the scraping. 1. In both cases (building the scraper myself or using a third-party scraper), is it haram if it violates the site’s ToS? 2. if the client keap using the tool, would that be considered continuously participating in sin (siyyi’ah jariyah)?

What about in the case of not focusing on the woman's hands and instead focusing on how she uses them?

A woman protested and quoted Verse 4:20 of the Qur'an which says: >But if you want to replace one wife with another and you have given one of them a great amount [in gifts], do not take [back] from it anything. Would you take it in injustice and manifest sin? Caliph Omar immediately retracted his statement, saying that whoever wants to give an exorbitant mahr can give it. What is the authenticity of this hadith?

He gives to whom He wills female [children], and He gives to whom He wills males. **Or He makes them [both] males and females**, and He renders whom He wills barren. Indeed, He is Knowing and Competent. -- Qur'an 42:49-50 These ayat came up in my previous question https://islam.stackexchange.com/q/35022/17163 *Question*: Should "Or He makes them [both] males and females" be interpreted as referring to intersex people? It seems plausible that this instead refers to instances of male-female twins.

As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāh wa barakātuh, My name is Leya, and I’m a 13-year-old Muslim girl who follows the Shāfiʿī madhhab. I’m interested in starting a small home-based business as a nail technician, specifically applying acrylic nails. I would only offer this service to non-Muslim women, and I would work privately, one-on-one, in a respectful and professional environment. I would not offer this service to Muslim women out of concern for wudu and purity. I want to make sure that the income I earn is 100% halal, and I am trying to follow my religion carefully. Would this type of work be considered permissible in the Shāfiʿī school of thought? JazakumAllahu khayran for your time and guidance. May Allah reward you for helping young Muslims like me make good choices. Was-salāmu ʿalaykum wa raḥmatullāh, Leya

Interpretation of Surah 86:6 "Emerging from between the Backbone and ribs"
Assalamu Alaikum Brothers in Islam, Surah 86 (The Night Comer) says : > 86:5 - So let man observe from what he was created. > > 86:6 - He was created from a fluid, ejected, > > 86:7 - Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. > > 86:8 - Indeed, Allah, to return him [to life], is Able. Is it possible that Verse 86: 6 and 86:7 are actually **two separate** statements and not a continuation of each other? That is, 86:6 speaking of how man is created from fluid ejected, and 86:7 refers to how this fluid which has transformed into a **foetus emerges out** from between the backbones and ribs (Mother's Womb) and not refering to the sperm emerging out from the backbone? - For example on the lines of : Have the students not observed how the Ford car is manufactured? It is manufactured from Molten Iron, Emerging out from the Ford factory. (that is, the molten iron ultimately emerges out from the factory as finished car) Have any of the classical Mufassiroon propagated this kind of an interpretation for these Ayat?

this is something that has been bothering me for a while and I was hoping someone could answer or educate me on this topic. when a woman's husband dies she must wait 4 months and a couple of days before getting married. I understand that this rule is put out in case the woman is pregnant. However, the woman is not allowed to wear jewelry, perfume or anything that may beautify her in order to show respect to her husband who has passed away. she cannot go out with friends to feel better and can only leave the house for necessity. I don't think this is necessarily bad but what bothers me is that when a mans wife dies, he does not have to show any respect or mourn his wife's passing away. in fact he can marry someone else a day after her passing away. isn't there some kind of respect shown for a wife who's passed? why is a wife worth so much less than a husband? it's starting to seem like a wife is required to love and respect her husband more than he is required to love and respect her.
