Why does the Qur'an sometimes refer to itself in the third person and other times in the first person?
While reading the Qur’an, I noticed that it refers to itself in different ways—sometimes saying **“We revealed the Qur'an”** (e.g., *Innā naḥnu nazzalnā al-dhikr*), and in other places referring to it in the third person, like **“This is the Book”** (*Dhālika al-kitāb*). *My Question* *How have clas...

*My Question*
*How have classical scholars and modern commentators interpreted these shifts? And does this variation carry implications for understanding divine speech and authorship in Islam?*
I’m especially interested in how scholars of *tafsīr* and Arabic rhetoric have explained this pattern.

Did prophet Muhammad know Aramaic/Hebrew or any other languages?
Is there any source or reference or evidence about the languages in which the Prophet Muhammad was fluent? Specially that Quran is very much inspired by the Old Testament.

Is there a relationship between the word "hijra" (migration of Muhammad) and "hijra" (South Asian term for transgender people)?

> **Hijra... is a term used in South Asia... to refer to transgender individuals who were assigned male at birth.** ... The word "hijra" is an Urdu word derived from the Semitic Arabic root hjr in its sense of "leaving one's tribe," and has been borrowed into Hindi. -- Wikipedia
Given the fact that the second version of "hijra" is Urdu, which has many similarities with Arabic, and it seems to have a related original meaning, it seems plausible there's a link between the two usages.
**Question**: Is there a relationship between the word "hijra" (migration of Muhammad) and "hijra" (South Asian term for transgender people)?

Why near 17 percent of Quranic words start with 'wa' (وَ)? Can we detach 'wa' from those words?
I'm working on Quran (using [Quran's database][1]) and I've noticed that from like 17000 distinct words of Quran, around 3000 start with `wa` attached to the beginning of the word. Examples: وَیَتَفَکَّرُونَ وَیَهْدِی وَتَنَازَعْتُمْ وَقَصْرٍ وَکَانُوا وَالْمُؤْتُونَ وَالْجِبَالَ وَانْشَقَّتِ وَأَقْ...

Examples:
وَیَتَفَکَّرُونَ

وَکَانُوا

This means that based on what I've found online in Quran's scripture, near 17% of words have wa
attached to them at the beginning.
This makes lingual analysis of Quran really really hard. Why is it so? Is it a simple typing mistake, or is it a known Arabic or Quranic rule? Is it safe if I remove them from those words?

Salamo3alaykom, in this answer in IslamQa I've may have found a translation after the tashahhud, translating at the beginning as "O Allah send prayers..." but Allah does NOT send prayers, rather He sends blessings. It translates "barik" as "sending blessings", but It translates "salli" as sending prayers. What does it exactly mean by sending prayers from the part of Allah? Allah does NOT pray because he is Allah.

" تَرِبَتْ يَدَاكَ " has different translations here :
Sahih al-Bukahri :
> "(otherwise) you will be a losers"
- then where is "otherwise" in original (arabic) text?
Sunan ibn Majah :
> "may your hands be rubbed with dust (i.e., may you prosper)"
- so this has contrariwise meaning i.e. like if dusting of hand is something good. ( also Sunan an-Nasaa-i : "may your hands be rubbed with dust (may you prosper)" ).
if really dusting of hand means good, what logic is here? maybe working much and such getting dust?
What does it mean here ? :
> "He (the Holy Prophet) said: Let your hand be covered with dust, in what way does her child resemble her?"
and here :
> "(and it seemed) as if Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) did not like it (his sitting with the children) and said to him: May your nose he besmeared with dust, ..."
- in these 2 cases i see it is/means scolding. and also general meaning of dust is not positive, but it is something bad. so how can it mean "to prosper" as it is translated in some hadiths?

Firstly I apologise if my question is language-related, I am a convert who has not managed to learn arabic yet.
My question is about the usage of both first person "I" and third person "He" in Qur'an: why is there an alternation?
Surah Al Baqara
ayah 29 : It is He who created for you all of that which is on the earth. Then He directed Himself to the heaven, [His being above all creation], and made them seven heavens, and He is Knowing of all things.
ayah 41 : And believe in what I have sent down confirming that which is [already] with you, and be not the first to disbelieve in it. And do not exchange My signs for a small price, and fear [only] Me.

Rahman and rahim are both names of Allah, and frequently used.
Now I once heard in this video that:
Ar-Rahman = merciful to all
Ar-Rahim = merciful to beleivers
I fail to understand how this interpretation has come to exist. Though he explains syntax, he jumps to interpretation without reasoning, or at least I don't get it. Thus I searched and I couldn't find much linguistically presented analysis for the differences. For example, this video .
Where can I find factual linguistics data, and not opinions?

One answer suggested to ask people that go for Hajj, to "make dua for us". I asked in a comment what that means, and was told: "With respect to your question on 'make dua for us' I'd recommend you ask it as a separate question as there are a lot of Hadith on the subject that you will receive as answers and inshallah they will increase knowledge."
I am now very curious what this phrase means.
