The Z's answer on the question https://islam.stackexchange.com/questions/62267/naming-a-child-rasheed-instead-of-abdulrasheed made me wonder if there are other names or attributes of Allah which were attributed to humans in the qur'an? So to be more clear I consider the name/attribute: > رشيد > Rasheed as already proposed. Are there any other names (we consider among asma' Allah al-Husna) or attributes of Allah (other than Rasheed) -single word- which describe humans in the qur'an? Please answer with evidences (qur'an quotes). A list or full list would be great, but not necessary.

Is there any validity to this practice? In particular, **can anyone provide me with some authentic ahadith** or any reference in **Al-Quran** regarding it?

When there are already 1000 questions are the islam.StackExchange, I found it interesting to ask the question 1001 about 1001 names of Allah: There is a Du'a narrated from Imam Ali-ibn-Hussain from prophet Muhammad (PBUH) called Joushan Kabir Dua (this links contain Du'a in Arabic, English and Persian) that is 100 parts, each containing 10 beautiful names of Allah. Also part 55 contains 11 names, so the total names of Allah in this Du'a will be 1001. I found calling Allah by 1001 names not only an very good way to ask him my needs - specially in Qadr nights, but also a excellent way to think and learn better about my Lord. So my question is: How many names are provided for Allah (Asma-ul-Husna) in Hadith or Sunnah? Is there any name of Allah missing from this great Du'a, or is there any other source with more names of Allah? If not, maybe we can consider these 1001 names are all the names Muslims know about Allah.

Is the epsilon truly more fitting of the first letter of the word "Allah" (as pronounced in Arabic) when translated to greek from arabic or would it be an intermediate between alpha and epsilon. Also wouldn't starting with epsilon render the pronunciation of the rest of the word incorrect as in Arabic the second alpha isn't really 'a' it's more of an o giving us an "awe" sound and the L's are pronounced differently and the xhi at the end would become silent.

For example: > Our Lord, and send among them a messenger from themselves who will > recite to them Your verses and teach them the Book and wisdom and > purify them. Indeed, You are the **Exalted in Might, the Wise**." > (2:129) We can safely assume that these pairs do not appear randomly. We can equally safely assume that their **order** do not appear randomly. In various lectures I remember hearing that there is great wisdom in these pairs as well as their orders—so much so, that when we see them we should pause and ponder as to why they are specifically chosen by Allah. Are there English sources which analyze in depth the significance of Allah's names coming in pairs? (If there are only Arabic sources, I would also like to know them.)

Doing some quick math, Surah Maryam contains about 1% of the words of the Quran but contains about 36% of the mentions of the name Ar-Rahman. **What is the significance of this? Have any past or present scholars discussed it?**

I am a 34 years old unmarried woman with no fall-backs/backups in life. To cut a long story short, my career is also almost in a dumpster. It is sheerly the mercy of Allah that He is keeping me afloat, alhamdoliAllah. So I do feel a lot of anxiety about things. It's a continuous battle where fears and negative thoughts come in my mind, and I consciously tell myself (of course alhamdoliAllah) that Allah is so merciful that He will definitely take care of my and unfold the best plan for me, just like He has taken care of me so far. When I meet people for a few minutes or hours in social gatherings, they give me a lot of unsolicited and superficial advise (which is not even intended at suggesting a solution for the challenges I face, but it is rather talk for the sake of talk), without thinking that if I could solve my problems, I would have done that. My question is that is it OK if I keep telling the people that I have put my trust in Allah and Allah will make the best way out for me, I am sure of it (while in reality I do face anxiety related to these matters)?

I would say that Omniscient corresponds to al-Alim (All-Knowing), and I would guess that al-Wadud would correspond to Omnibenevolent (All-Loving). And I would guess that al-Qaadir corresponds to Omnipotent (All-Powerful). Which Quranic name of Allah corresponds to Omnipresent (All-Present---that Allah is everywhere.)? (Western philosophers also invariably use the term All-Good (especially when discussing the so-called problem of evil). To my limited understanding, there is no such attribute of Allah in Quran, am I correct? **Note:** I am not attributing anything to Allah; just asking whether Quran involves a name of Allah that simply means All-Good.)

I have a little but not much knowledge of Arabic. Although **God** is called `Al-Karim, I hear the invocation Ya Karim, but I never heard the invocation Ya Al-Karim or Ya-l-Karim. Same for other names of **God**: the definite article disappears from the vocative. Just as it would in English: May the Lord have mercy on us vs. O Lord, have mercy on us` One big exception: `Ya Allah, which I've heard lots. (With definite separation between the end of Ya and the start of Allah, there are three different "a" sounds. I'm not talking about yalla as in let's go`.) Now I see that when my English translation of the Quran has `O God, the original is Allahuma`. I don't know anything like this construction, where someone is addressed by tacking "-uma" at the end or something similar. Though as I say, I'm not at all knowledgeable in Arabic and might easily have missed something. So is there a difference? Is `Ya Allah in the Quran and I missed it? Is Allahuma preferred? Is Allahuma` a unique construction?

All the first names I noted are the names of Almighty Allah. Often I hear that such names are not allowed in Islam because those are qualitative names of Allah and we as human cannot expect those within ourselves. However, adding an **Abd** is fine. For example, **Abdur Rahman** is OK because it means Slave of Rahman. Is this a fact? What are the references?
