Assalamualaikum,
I have been having doubts about this issue for a while and if anyone with knowledge can help, i would appreciate. It is said that we can not know how many have passed since Prophet Adam whenever i ask a scholar but there are some sahih hadiths which actually tells us he lived not that long time ago. Hadiths:
•The period between Adam and Nooh (peace be upon them both): it was narrated from Abu Umaamah that a man said: “O Messenger of Allah, was Adam a Prophet?” He said, “Yes, and Allah spoke to him.” The man asked, “How much (time) was there between him and Nooh?” He said, “Ten centuries.(qarn)” Narrated by Ibn Hibbaan in his Saheeh, 14/69; and by al-Haakim, 2/262.
•The period between Nooh and Ibraaheem (peace be upon them both): our evidence is in the continuation of the hadeeth of Abu Umaamah (may Allah be pleased with him) quoted above: … He said, “And how long was there between Nooh and Ibraaheem?” He said, “Ten centuries.” (Narrated by al-Haakim in al-Mustadrak, 2/288.
Now, i know qarn also means generation but even though we understand it that way, it still doesn't reconcile with science. Since we have remains of ancient human communities that date back much longer time ago. We also know from books that Prophet Ibraheem lived 4000 years ago, between him and Nooh there is 10 qarn and between Nooh and Adam there is 10 qarn too. Even if we assume qarn is 10000 years, which i think scientifically impossible, it means Prophet Adam lived 24000 years ago and this still doesn't make sense.
I would really appreciate if anyone has an explanation, thank you.

Are all human species (like homo erectus) children of Adam A.S ? Or are some of them not human but just resemble them and have no free will? They are alleged to be around like 500k or 1 million years ago.

Assalam o Alaikum brothers,
Someone just asked me a question, and to be frank, I didn't have a substantial reply. I'm also quiet confused now regarding this topic.
I understand that Allah swt in surah Baqarah 2:30 speaks about creating a Khalifa (vicegerent) on the earth.
This was prior to creating Adam (as).
I understand that Allah Swt gave Adam (as) free will.
Iblees (Laanatallah Alayhi) however, decieved Adam (as) to disobey Allah swt by eating from the forbidden tree.
This is as I personally understand, the only reason for him to be expelled from heaven and sent down to earth.
Now here is where I'm confused astagfirullah!
If Allah swt even prior to creating Adam (as) had already decided to send Adam (as) to earth as seen in Surah Baqarah 2:30.
Does this mean that Allah swt had pre destined Adam (as) to disobey? Because if He hadn't, and if Adam (as) wouldn't have disobeyed, he wouldn't be expelled from heaven right? Or would he be expelled regardless of his disobedience?
To summarize, from what little I understand, Allah prior to creating Adam(as) willed to create a being whom he would place in the earth as a Khalifa. But the only way that Adam (as) would be expelled is by disobedience to Allah. So Adam (as) didn't really have a choice?
And if Adam (as) didn't eat from the tree, would he still be in heaven?

The conversation between Prophet moses and Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is well documented during the meraj of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh).
Did the following conversation take place on meraj of prophet moses?
> The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Adam and Moses argued with each other. Moses said to Adam. 'O Adam! You are our father who disappointed us and turned us out of Paradise.' Then Adam said to him, 'O Moses! Allah favored you with His talk (talked to you directly) and He wrote (the Torah) for you with His Own Hand. Do you blame me for action which Allah had written in my fate forty years before my creation?' So Adam confuted Moses, Adam confuted Moses," the Prophet (ﷺ) added, repeating the Statement three times.

Why did Allah only forgive Adam and not eve?

And:
> Then received Adam words from his Lord, and He turned towards him

So in terms of the Arabic (male singular), only Adam was forgiven, not Hawah. What's the explanation for this?

2) If Adam (AS) is a messenger of Allah, then who are their Followers? Because Prophets send to a group of people.
3) Quran mention Adam (AS) as a Khalifa but I never saw in Quran He was mentioned as a first human too (May be I am wrong).
These question has no any intention about Islam, just ask for knowledge sake.

Why were the Angels told to prostrate to Adam (AS)?
We are only allowed to prostrate to Allah (swt) otherwise we are committing shirk. Then why were the Angels told to make sajda / go down to sujood for Adam (AS)? Also Yousuf (AS) saw a dream that the planets were prostrating to him which turned out that his brothers prostrated to him.

I know that in the Quran that the five messengers: Nuh (A.S.), Ibrahim (A.S.), Musa (A.S.), Isa (A.S.), and Muhammad (S.A.W.) are considered the Ulul'azm Anbiya but I was just wondering if Adam (A.S.) is also considered a rasul or a prophet of a similar stature to these prophets.
This reasoning mainly comes from Surah Al-Imran ayat 33 where it says
> "Indeed, Allah chose Adam and Noah and the family of Abraham and the
> family of 'Imran over the worlds".
Perhaps it is merely a misunderstanding on my part, but does this ayat say that Adam (A.S.) is considered as high a stature of the other rasuls previously mentioned?
If my understanding is incorrect, could you please elaborate on the meaning of this ayat?

Always thought that the prophet Muhammed(PBUH) was the only messenger for all mankind as that what i usually heard from Muslim apologists and as in this Hadith
> Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (Peace be upon him) said, “I have been favored (by Allah) over all other Prophets with six (gifts which are): (i) I have been granted (the gift of uttering) the shortest expressions that bear the widest meanings, (ii) Allah made me victorious by means of awe, (by His frightening my enemies), (iii) the spoils of war were made lawful for me (iv) the earth was made for me (and my followers) a place for praying and a (means of) purification (i.e. one can pray in case there is no water through performing Tayammum (Dry Ablution, i.e. wiping one's hands with pure dust) (v) and I am the last of the Prophets.”
He (peace be upon him) also said, “Every Prophet was sent to his nation only but I have been sent to all mankind.”
but then I heard that Noah (PBUH) and Adam (PBUH) were sent for the entire mankind of that time too, for example Noah (PBUH) prayed that all disbelievers to be destroyed and his prayer got answered and only people of his nations left, also for Adam (PBUH) it was only his nation so he was like a prophet for all mankind, so what is the difference between Muhammed (PBUH) being sent for all mankind and Noah (PBUH) and Adam (PBUH) being sent for all mankind.

Today I have a discussion with a Christian office colleague. He said that Prophet Isa is not from the blood line of Adam. Because when husband and wife interact with each other then in the result the baby is born. But nobody touches Mariam (A.I), and Prophet Isa born by the power of Allah. So he said, Prophet Isa is not from the blood line of Adam. That's why Christians say that the Prophet Isa is the son of God.
My question is: Is it true that Prophet Isa is not from the blood line of Adam?

We know that the Quran affirms that man is the best creation of Allah. But, does the Quran go further to suggest that 'Man is made in the image and likeness of God' or the lesser 'man is made in the image of the universe' that is claimed by the Christian theology in the Bible and Eastern traditions like Hinduism? Here image is not necessarily a physical image or form.
Edit: There are some references in the Hadiths which suggests that Man is made in the image of God. Is this accepted as a genuine hadith by Islamic scholars?
The hadith “Allah created Adam in His/his image (`ala suratihi)” was narrated from Abu Hurayrah by both Bukhari and Muslim.

Salam,
I read about a book called the "Life of Adam and Eve" - which contains the story of Adam alaihi salam being prostrated before by the Angels. It seems to be from the first century? I am wondering how I should respond to creeping doubts, as it's argued that Muhammad Salla Allahu Alaihi Was Salam heard these stories and legends and incorporated it in the Qur'an, especially with the polemical nature of the Qur'an which seems to assume a fully knowing reader at times.
