For the past few days, I have been considering studying Islam in depth. I have a strong desire to become a scholar—such as a Sheikh, Mufti, Maulana, Mu’allim, or Allama—following in the footsteps of renowned scholars like Nasiruddin Albani, Zakir Naik, Taqi Usmani, and Mufti Menk. At 28 years old, I have decided to dedicate the rest of my life to the field of Da’wah, but I want to first acquire proper and authentic knowledge. Being born and raised in a Muslim family, I have a basic understanding of Islam, but I feel that it is not sufficient for effectively spreading the message of Islam. Currently, I have limited knowledge about prominent madrasas and little to no connection with Islamic scholars. Is there a way for me to study Islam on my own, or is formal education in a madrasa necessary to achieve deep Islamic knowledge?

All praise be to Almighty Allah, Asalamu Aleykum, I was having a question in my mind. I have no knowledge about Islam at all, In Shaa Allah one day I will have. **My question** is during the fulfilment of our duties to Allah(S.W.T), does emotion count as an effort or do you have to be logical and do it? For example, when we are commanded to do something, for example, zakkat, we have to do it even if we don't like it. My point is most sharia are like the law you don't say I like this law or I don't like this law you have to do it. ***So does emotion play any role if the fulfilment of Islamic law?*** Let's say you are doing something for the benefit of helping others but you don't like it but for the fear of God you have to do it, does that count as good deeds? I apologize for my English am using a translator.

As-Salam-u-Alaikum I am newly converted to Islam, to understand the Quran better I used the tafsir of ibn Kathir as a guide. In verses 25:61 tafsir say > (and a moon giving light.) means, shining and illuminated by the light of something else, different from the light of the sun But at verses 36:37-40 > As for the moon, Allah has decreed that it should pass through different phases. At the beginning of the month, the moon appears small when it rises. It gives off little light, then on the second night its light increases and it rises to a higher position, and the higher it rises the more light it gives -- even though it is reflected from the sun -- until it becomes full on the fourteenth night of the month Edit:My Question, Why tafsir gives two different Explanation about moonlight. is there something I am missing? and what is the meaning of nur which is used in 10:5? Sorry if the Question is not proper, I just want to know what is truth. Peace be unto you and so may the mercy of Allah and his blessings

We Muslims say “La Ilaha Ilalah” which translates to “There is no God but Allah”. However, in Arabic, Allah means God. Some also say, “There is no God but God”. Would it be better to say “There is no God But Allah” to signify the name Allah applying to the name of God? Because saying the latter doesn’t really make much sense. If the former, that doesn’t make that much sense either because it ultimately translates to “There is no God but God.” Does the word Allah mean God but does it also mean the name of God? Which is why it’s said: “There is no God but Allah.” Perhaps the Arabic phrase would get a better context?

I was wondering if I could tell them what I did in order to prevent them from taking the wrong path in case they stumble upon that road? I’ve heard of the term, Jahaliyaah but does that justify it’s okay to tell people my sins not for fun but for the sake of preventing them from making the same mistakes I did in the age of ignorance?

I'm sorry, but I'm just curious on why we say Bismillah al Rahman al Raheem in the beginning of the surahs we read and not let's say for example Bismillah al Azeem? I'm sorry I don't mean it to be disrespectful in any way possible but I'm just curious.

Why islam is considered as "only" "one" "true" path, whereas nature provides multiple reasons to believe otherwise?

I have started studying Islamic texts and thus multiple questions are coming in my mind? I am asking just for clarification and the thought process behind, there is no ill intention. My observation throughout my life is: In nature for a single species multiple variants are present, even in man made systems for a single problem multiple variant of solutions are present. and even while thinking we choose between multiple options to carry forward our thought process. Then why Islam ( or any abhramic religion) focuses on keywords like " only", "one" and "true"? From where this inspiration comes as in why we blatantly ignore self experiences i.e. our own empirical experiences and focus more on given text i.e. is there a proof based logic in Islamic text where self experience is considered as lower than scriptures? I mean to say even when I am feeling pain in certain condition, do I need to search for a text which "may be" opposite to that feeling. Take for example in general daily life as per my experience, valid sources of knowledge are from as below in descending order: 1) Self experiences /empirical evidence 2) Inferences ( previous or similar empirical exp behind it) 3) Analogy or comparison ( previous or similar empirical exp behind it) 4) Words from a "trust-able" source ( previous empirical exp behind it as trust is based on empirical exp) Now what I believe all the three sources(2,3,4) of valid knowledge can be negated by empirical experiences like the example of pain I have given. Whereas in Islam, my observation is otherwise i.e. Least form of valid source of knowledge is considered as best , but I believe there must be some evidence based logic ( logic comes in inference which is again dependent on empirical exp) behind it. Requesting you to please clarify. Please help me with query, I will be really thankful for these as it may help me to understand the Islam better.

In my city children are taught in (mainly) two different ways: they are taught really strictly or not taught at all. Ive seen some people who grow up very conservative but when they hit their late teens they just stop with eveything and others who werent even taught to begin with just do whatever they want. There is people who just smoke and do drugs for fun and think it is cool, I have seen others drink, lots and lots of people have girlfriens and commit Zina, others just dont pray etc etc. This is somewhat interrelated to one of my previous questions https://islam.stackexchange.com/questions/60631/problem-with-marriage-in-the-west . I know it may be wrong to just say that this is all due to how some people have been raised but I feel like the way you are taught would play a significant role in this. What was the prophets approach to teaching others? Was he forceful or extreme and constantly saying you would be punished for one thing or another or extremly kind and leaves it up to the person he teaches what to do? What was his approach to teaching others to live at least a fairly Islamic life?

Assalamualaikum, I'd go straight to the point inshAllah. I'm currently confused: was the original Torah and Injeel available during prophet Muhammad's (SAW) era? Like for example in verses such as: - Al Baqarah 91 “When it is said to them, “Believe in what Allah has revealed,” they say, “We believe in what has been revealed to us” — and they deny what is beyond it, whereas that is the truth which confirms what is with them. Say, “Why then have you been slaying the prophets of Allah earlier, if you were believers?” - Aale Imran 70 "O people of the Book, why do you disbelieve in the verses of Allah while you are yourselves witnesses (to those verses)?” - Aale Imran 199 “Surely, among the people of the Book there are those who believe in Allah and in what has been sent down to you and what has been sent to them, humbling themselves before Allah. They do not barter away the verses of Allah for paltry (worldly) gains. They have their reward with their Lord. Surely, Allah is swift at reckoning.” - Al Maidah 68 Say, “O people of the Book, you have nothing to stand on, unless you uphold the Torah and the Injil and what has been sent down to you from your Lord.” What has been sent down to you from your Lord will certainly make many of the most persistent in rebellion and disbelief. So, do not grieve over the disbelieving people.” - Al Maidah 47 “Let the People of the Gospel judge by what God has revealed therein” The Qur'an also mentioned that the previous scriptures has been changed either by addition, subtraction or by misplacement of words. So which is the truth? If the previous scriptures were corrupted even during prophet Muhammad (SAW) time, why does the Qur'an tell the ahlul kitab to stand by their books? I'm a devout Muslim, inshAllah, and I'm learning the Qur'an verse by verse, word by word, just like what we are supposed to do. Peace be upon everybody, wa-alaikum-salaam
