This angered me more and I tried calming myself and refraining from saying things that I did not want , but the anger got the better of me and made me utter talaq to her.
Can you provide an answer that I can pass onto her as she is curious to the answers. I've got no local imam to assist in this matter. If a call can be done with the both of us.

I am a person studying general, and for coaching, I need to travel a certain way by bus every day. As a high density of population in Dhaka, people get into the bus like goods are tied in sacks, because it is seen that despite my best efforts, the bodies of various women are thrown when the bus brakes or speeds up.
Now, will I accept responsibility for this?
I don't do it willingly at all. Even today I was hanging hard to save me; even my hand was impacted, and when the bus braked, the girl behind me fell on me. I know it was not her fault, and besides, women are mentally stronger than men. I may fall under the deception of the devil; I may not today, but if it is almost like that, if I fall one day, is there any deed to save me from it?

Is making a e-commerce website is halal, where I just promote other sellers products and charge them for sold product
If i create a website like Amazon, where the seller post their products and sells their products and they deliver it (not me). I just charge a fixed percentage for that sold product from the seller. I'm only promoting my website. Is it halal? If not then how to make it halal?

Or if i am a dumb person and i make dua to Allah to make me smart and give me knowledge do i suddendly become smart? If to become smart i have to read and learn, then what is the point of making dua anyway? All i can think of where dua is helpfull is for the hereafter, for Allah's forgiveness, to go to Jannah etc. What if you make dua and pray salah for weeks and months and nothing has changed in your life? Is it because i am not making dua like i am supposed to or the dua has not been accepted?

AsSalamuAlaikum, Sir!
My mother has a pet dog and she is very fond of it. When she prays the dog sits besides her and sometimes sniffs or touches her during her prayer! I have warned her a lot regarding this, as I know Angels don't stay in the room or house where a dog is kept.
Note: it is not even a guard dog but a pet.
Unfortunately, my mother doesn't listen to me, or anybody else, about the Islamic boundaries of keeping a dog! It has been almost two years that she has been praying with the dog sitting just beside her and sleeps keeping it besides her bed.
Her statement is, "there is no ayats from Al-Quran or any authentic hadith that says dogs may cause invalidation of prayer or cause impurity." I am very worried about her! Please give me some advice on what I should do or tell her about keeping a dog while praying?

Is there an historical "error" on war booty?

>Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah (ra) the Prophet (saw) said, "I have been given five things which were not given to anyone else before me:
>
>1. Allah made me victorious by awe (by his frigtening my enemy), for a distance of one month's journey.
>
>2. The earth has been made for me (and my followers) a place for offering salah and a thing to purify (perform tayyamum), therefore anyone of my followers can offer salaah wherever he is at the time of salaah.

>5. Every Prophet used to be sent to his nation only but I have sent to all mankind". (Sahih Bukhari, p.51, English summarised edition; Muslim; Bayhaqi, p.4, vol.9; bold emphasis mine)
The Hadith above tells us that booty was not made halal to anyone before the Prophet SAW. What does that actually mean? The Torah mentions war booty captured by Prophets and Israelite soldiers, doesn't that contradict what the Prophet SAW said here? Or is there a different meaning to it? According to the verses below, even Moses, Joshua and David received booty. The latter won a crown from an enemy king :
>1 Chronicles 20 : 2
>
>David took the crown from the head of their king[a]—its weight was found to be a talent[b] of gold, and it was set with precious stones—and it was placed on David’s head. He took a great quantity of plunder from the city 3 and brought out the people who were there, consigning them to labor with saws and with iron picks and axes.
And.....
>2 Samuel 3:2
>
>Just then David’s men and Joab returned from a raid and brought with them a great deal of plunder.
And.....
>Joshua 8:1-2
>
>8 Then the Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Take the whole army with you, and go up and attack Ai. For I have delivered into your hands the king of Ai, his people, his city and his land. 2 You shall do to Ai and its king as you did to Jericho and its king, except that you may carry off their plunder and livestock for yourselves. Set an ambush behind the city.”
And.....
>Deuteronomy 2:35
>
>35 But the livestock and the plunder from the towns we had captured we carried off for ourselves.
And.....
>Deuteronomy 3:7
>
>7 But all the livestock and the plunder from their cities we carried off for ourselves.
Can anyone explain this supposed contradiction?

Islamic basis for a theory of government?

I just read [this question](https://islam.stackexchange.com/questions/14801/what-kind-of-government-is-suggested-by-islam-democracy-or-kingdom-or) which asks "What kind of government is suggested by Islam? Democracy or Kingdom or …?"
However, I thought it seems a little too broad or opinion-based at such level, because it already assumes (or have to assume) that Islam as a religion is inclusive of a theory of government. However the assumption I believe can be supported as a valid idea.
First, because Islam is considered by Muslims to be the source of ultimate guidance on every aspect of life. This indeed can be understood from various Quranic verses, the most explicit being the verse which [asserts](http://tanzil.net/#trans/en.itani/41:53) : "We sent down you a book that is an explanation for everything."
On the other hand, we also know that Prophet Muhammad himself established a government in Medina which he ruled and governed according to teachings of Islam with collaboration of his companions and followers. In fact, some historians of political theory argue that the formal agreement the Holy Prophet signed with tribes of Medina (known as دستور المدینة or Charter of Medina), can be regarded as the first formal Constitution in history. (See the wiki-page, [Constitution of Medina](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Constitution_of_Medina)) .
Therefore, there does seem to be an actual doctrinal and historical basis for a government/political theory in Islam.
So the question is: what are the other doctrinal or historical evidences that can be used for elaborating a theory of government according to the teachings of Islam. And what are the existing theories of Islamic government, if any, as formulated by Islamic scholars?
**Post-script:** Please note that this question is not asking for opinions but
1) Quranic and narrated statements related to politics of Islam which may help us in postulating an Islamic political theory, and
2) existing theories on Islamic government.

Salam, i have just started praying and i am in the process of learning more about islam. While I know you can make dua during sujood, i was wondering if it is permissible to ask for worldly things like marriage/a specific person for marriage and whether it can be done in English.
The second part of my question is related to duas before and after tasleem. Some say it can be done before tasleem, others say it can be done after tasleem. What is the proper way to do it as I want to make sure I do not make a mistake.
(My questions relate to prayers done at home)
Thank you

When I listen to the first Sura in the Quran, Sura Al-Fatihah, I hear some words at the beginning which are not part of the text in my Quran:
What do these words mean? After trying to listen to what it is saying, and searching a bit, I find a transliteration like "Audzubillah Himinas Syaiton Nirojim". Apparently the first word means "we seek refuge in Allah", and then there is something about evil maybe?
By contrast, the mp3 for the next Surah, Al-Baqarah, just starts with the "Bismillah" as it is written in my Quran.
What is being recited before the Bismillah in Surah Al-Fatihah?
