I tried looking up on this and found a mixed bag of answers as they usually only mentioned for Educational purposes (Dawah) or Sightseeing in the context of understanding what you shouldn't do. But what about the intention of sightseeing for purely tourism as in like admiring the architecture, not taking part in any practice and then moving on with your day? Just to clarify, it would not be the sole intention either but just on a bucket list of places during a vacation. Is it still haram?
Thank you

Each year i used to go stay with my grandparents who are at a different region where it takes half a day to go into in bus and i would stay there for more than one month. I do this to give them company and assist them as they are really old. But recently i learned that it is haram for a woman to travel alone but my only mahram is my father who cant travel due to being weak because of healt issues. And if i am almost obliged to go because if i dont my grandparents will be really sad and angry with me and it will cause some drama in the family. Then can i still go alone as i have done it for a long time and never had any problem whatsoever?

Travel to homeland/birthplace
We live in Islamabad after my father's naval transfer. We've made up our minds to migrate here permanently. Even if he's transferred to my birthplace, he'll deny it unless inevitable. Can I shorten my prayer when visiting my hometown? We won’t go back to live there permanently or migrate back there

I know that it is haram for women to travel alone internationally but can a woman travel within their own country or region or municipality (domestic)? Because if a woman want to becoma a train driver she has to drive through a region or within the same country but come home the same day.

This: https://islam.stackexchange.com/questions/48208/traveling-during-ramadan-should-i-still-fast made me think about the following question:
What if a person -like somebody who is on a journey during Ramadan- who had the choice not to fast, but decided to fast before the end of the day broke his/her fast.
This person started the day fasting in Ramadan (even if he/she had the permission to eat), but later maybe due to heat or whatever reason decided to break his/her fast before the sunset.
What are the views of scholars about this: Do they need only to fast that day as qada' or is a kafara necessary ...?

> Other than what is stated from the Hanafi madhhab in the Reliance, **the only dispensations I have seen for a woman to travel alone are**: ... - **If she is a non-Muslim who became Muslim**, or a slave who was freed, and or a Muslim woman escaping from Dar al-kufr. See Fath al-Bari , 1989 ed. 4:93, al-Mughni 1994 ed. 3:168, and Nayl al- awtar 4:291.
This took me by surprise, and I'm sceptical about it's truth. However, it does give references which look reliable, so there's probably something behind the claim.

Throughout Islam, there is a lot of attention on women travelling alone, with attitudes varying significantly. Indeed, there's several questions on this site relating to women travelling alone:

- https://islam.stackexchange.com/q/36150/17163
However, there seems to be minimal attention given to men travelling alone, so I'm curious about this imbalance.
**Question**: How do the rules for men travelling alone and women travelling alone differ?
Islam Q&A says that the Prophet "forbade [travelling alone] in several ahaadeeth" without making reference to one's gender (although there is nuance to their post). I also found this post:
> In times of insecurity and war, in long journeys, the Prophet, pbuh, ordained that a woman should travel with her husband or a male relative. This was meant to help the woman and to provide security, not to put the woman under the control of her husband... -- Kaukab Siddique , New Trend Mag, 2009.
I'm not sure what to make of this.

There are many different opinions on this subject, but as we know, it is permissble to combine, and shorten prayers when travelling (on vacation for example). As such, one would be allowed to pray dhur and asr together, with 2 raqaat each for example. But when is the maximum number of days in which one can do this? I've heard that if you are in a certain place for more than 3 days, then you are not permitted to combine and shorten prayers. Others says 15 days, and some say as long as you are far from your home, however long that may be, you are permitted to shorten and combine prayers.

According to Islamic teachings, is it permissible for Muslim women to pursue a career as astronauts and participate in space exploration missions while observing hijab like Nora AlMatrooshi ? Are there any religious limitations that should be taken into account regarding the role of women in space travel, and what guidance does Islam provide on this matter? The same kind of security measures is taken there whether she is a male or female.
In a hadith our prophet Pbuh said:
> If you live long enough, you will see a young woman traveling from Al-Hirah to circumambulate the Kaaba, fearing no one but Allah
>
> Sahih Al-Bukhari
Also, Egypt's Dar Al-Iftaa says:
> The opinion appropriate for fatwa at present is that it is permissible
> and there is no objection to a woman traveling alone by the various
> safe routes and means of travel via their venues such as airports,
> harbors, and the like. This applies whether she is traveling for
> something obligatory, recommended, or permissible.
>
> English Fatwa Number: 6128
So, can a Muslim woman pursue a career as an astronaut and go to space? Will this be halal?

and site:leader.ir woman travel
didn't reveal any easy, general answers.

I am traveling to visit family in Turkey, and I have with enough time to pray Zuhr, but not Asr, before I leave. The flight is a 12 hour flight straight from LA to Istsanbul, and thus I won't even get into Istanbul the way the time difference works until the next 5:00, meaning I will be flying during Asr, Maghrib, Ishaa and the Fajr of the following day. What should be done in terms of Salat?
There most likely wont be room on the plane to do Salat standing and/or facing Qibla. Can one combine all prayers at once?
The flight will be so long even if I pray Zuhr and Asr at the same time I will miss Maghrib, Isha, and the next Fajr, should I just recite Salat in my seat? Or pray when I get there?
Also, I follow the Hanafi mazab, and I remember hearing that it is haram to combine prayers for Hanafi. If that is so, what should I do?

I will be traveling to India with my mother for her treatment during this Ramadan. From What I have read , one is no more considered a traveler if he stays in the destination city for 15 days or more.
Now I don't know the exact days I will have to stay there but the doctor has told us that my mother's medical procedure will be completed in 15 days. Will I be considered a resident in the assumption from the doctor?
Being a central Asian I am a little concerned on how I will manage to take care of everything as I am not used to the hot climate in India especially fasting.

What are the views of the different sects and madhabs on when or from what moment on I'm allowed to break my fast (by eating etc.).
I've read an essay of al-Albani discussing whether one should:
1. start the day fasting until one really starts his trip
or
2. one can eat even before leaving home (at day time in Ramadan).
But it doesn't address the views of madhhabs and seems to be based on some seemingly contradictory narrations.
