Assalam Alaikum.
I work as a laborer in a warehouse. My daily task is to physically pick and handle boxes containing food. These boxes are then placed on pallets, and later those pallets are transported by truck to stores for customers to buy.
- About 15% of the boxes I pick and handle **daily** contain **pork**. I don't physically touch the pork, but the box containing it.
- About 10% of meat products like beef, lamb and chicken are not labelled halal - status is unknown.
- The remainder 75% are non - meat products like vegetables and bread.
I have to pick and handle these boxes that contain pork, and I am unable to avoid this - it is part of my job and I have to do it and I do this everyday I am there. Handling pork is mandatory in this role. I am not in sales, ownership, or management. I am manual labor / logistics. **I am paid a wage for labor**, not commission or pork sales.
1. Do I have to leave this job? Is it haram? I do not want to do any other role in this company but this role.
2. Is my income haram? If so, how much? All of it or only the percentage of pork?
I am **not** in **necessity** or in dire need. I have money saved up and can live comfortably and find an alternative job.
If you can please help me with this and give me some guidance with references I will greatly appreciate it.
Thank you very much.
