In the monetary terms, I have paid him twice the amount and the loan is still outstanding. Someone said that in Islam it would be considered as an interest (riba) in Islam!

The company is a 'financial experience company'.
Essentially what they do is provide digital banking solutions to financial institutions, including banks and other fintechs.
Here's a breakdown of what they offer:
Digital Banking Platforms: They provide software that allows financial institutions to offer online and mobile banking services, including account management, bill pay, and transfers.
Lending Solutions: They help banks and credit unions streamline their lending processes, from loan applications to origination and servicing.
Payments and Transfers: They offer solutions for handling various payment types, such as checks, ACH transfers, and P2P payments.
Data Analytics: They provide tools to help financial institutions analyze customer data and gain insights into their behavior, preferences, and needs.
Fraud Prevention: They offer solutions to help protect financial institutions and their customers from fraud.
They simply sell the platforms and software that allow the institutions to do all this stuff in a good looking UI.
Would working at this company in IT be permissible?
To be clear this company does not provide any financial services itself. The only part of it that might deal directly with riba is the lending solutions part. Which is what I'm worried about.

An equated monthly installment (EMI) is defined by Investopedia as:
> "A fixed payment amount made by a borrower to a lender at a specified date each calendar month. Equated monthly installments are used to pay off both interest and principal each month, so that over a specified number of years, the loan is paid off in full."
You can read full detail on [Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equated_monthly_installment) .

Can I put my money in the same bank and earn interest on it which is around 100 dollars and then pay it back to same bank in the loan installment which has 600 dollars interest in it?

2. I give two $500

3. I create a mobile app worth $1000

4. I create a mobile app worth $1200

How and when will these scenarios come under riba (interest) or not?

As-salamu alaykum. I want to start off by giving some context to my situation. I am a revert that lives in a non Muslim family. For some reason my parents are heavily against me being a Muslim so for the time being I am practicing in secret. My parents have been pressuring me and my brother into buying a house under me and my brother’s name for almost a year now. About 5 months ago I caved in without thinking of the consequences and went along with what they wished and took a riba based mortgage. My parents helped with the down payment contributing 150,000 dollars while I made a contribution of 23,000 dollars. At the time of this taking place my faith was very weak and I was not practicing Islam at all. I wasn’t praying, reading the Quran or doing anything as a Muslim. Alhamdulilah, recently I have found myself faith again and I have realized the grave mistake that I have committed. I would really like to hear some advice as to what I should do because this is really bothering me.

Few days after it they by their own will paid me some extra amount which as per them is the amount of interest I denied and was not willing to take. Now the company has been closed and there are no means to return that amount or ask them to take back. Is that amount halal for me or falls under Riba as there was no agreement between me and the company for that amount and there were no pre determined rates. Thank you!

Can someone spoonfeed me the definition of "Riba"="ربا"=interest in each of the following schools: Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi'i, along with explaining the Shafi'i definition.
I'd like the definitions in Arabic too if possible, I remember in Maliki that it is in the lines of
"كل قرض جر نفعا ...",
while for Shafi'is, something like
"عقد على عوض مخصوص غير معلوم التماثل...".
In particular I heard the Shafi'i's definition is exceptionally long aiming to cover all cases but fails to cover only one of them, I appreciate a clarification on this matter and explanation for it, Actually if possible an explanation for each of the 3 definitions I'm requesting. so the request is for:
- Definition for Riba in Hanafi Fiqh, written in Arabic, along with explanation,
- Definition for Riba in Maliki Fiqh, written in Arabic, along with explanation,
- Definition for Riba in Shafi'i Fiqh, written in Arabic, along with explanation pointing what it covers and what well-know cases of Riba it misses (I don't know if there is disagreement around Riba cases between schools of Islamic Fiqh, so I said "well-known cases"),

Note: It's not an investment, not a business loan, nothing. It's just he will place the money in bank for 40 days and we pay 5-10% of that to him. This is only for my bank statement to show for study visa, applying for United Kingdom.

I'm intending to buy a phone by monthly instalment, but not sure if its halal or not?
Details about the credit:
• APR including taxes: 0%. (interest 0%).
• No application fees.
• Monthly insurance fees including taxes: under 60 years old 0.077%, under 75 years old 0.11%, under 78 years old 0.143%.
My main concern is the **monthly insurance fees** and the fact that even though the phone is from Samsung the credit will be processed by another Company.

Assalmualikum. I am a female living with my mother and siblings. I work as a freelancer and have some savings in my bank account. I know interest is prohibited, but my brother doesn't support us. He never worked 3 years after my father's death, and now he works but spends all his money on himself. I deposited my savings in a bank account, and my mothers and sisters used that money. I live with them, but in order to save myself from that money, I give some extra money from my own earnings, like an amount sufficient for one person's expenses. Am I safe? or am I obliged to bear the costs of my sisters and mother. The interest money is enough for them to run the house, and my brother lives off of that money too.

Recently I've been searching for a house online, of course I do not want to get involved in Riba Astagfir-Allah, so I started subscribing to all these "sale in execution" property auction websites, so I can see whether I could get some good deals.
Anyways, I came across this one car they said you can buy it on "rent to buy".
So I looked up "rent to buy" and according to this explanation on Forbes.com you pay a deposit / down payment on the property (car / home/etc) and the rent you pay each month includes rent plus a downpayment on the innitial price of the house, and the price does not fluctuate with the interest rate.
Is it Halal to be involved in such a transaction? Please give a reason for your answer, Shukran.
