If I look at youtube, an imam may recite a surah X from ayah a to b, or surah Y from ayah c to d during a salat. For example Al Baqarah from ayah 153 - 158, Humazah from ayah 1 - 9, or Ash Shu'ara from ayah 86 - 104, etc. Where do we learn this ? How do we know that we can recite Al Baqarah 153 - 158, and not 157 - 159, or 151 - 155 ? If I look at either the quran.com or quranwbw.com, there is no symbol whatsoever that indicate it.

Assalamolaikum, my name is Ibrahim and I just had a quick question so basically for quite a long time I’ve been wearing this Silver Chain with a Palestine Pendant on it. I have been wearing it for months and then one day my uncle he told me there was a Hadith which stated that it was haram to wear a chain then I did further research and found the Hadith and also found an ayah which stated it too, further more I read it all and it said men were not to imitate women and vice versa and the Hadith stated about NECKLACES and bracelets but not CHAINS would a chain be considered a necklace or no? And i also read that a watch would be Permissible because it had a cause and a use, but so does my chain Becuase it shows that I stand with Palestine. So basically that is all I am curious about is it still haram to wear my Silver Chain with a Palestine Pendant. Jazakullah.

We know that in Quran the surahs are ordered in a certain way, but the chronological order of the revelation of the surahs is different. (One can see that in here .) My questions are: 1) Are ayahs inside a surah ordered according to revelation of them? 2) Surahs have a revelation order. But was it the case that one surah was revealed completely? In other words, were the ayahs revealed randomly and later composed in particular surahs the way scholars saw fit? 3) Did prophet Muhammed (PBUH) approved or had any say about the present composition/structure of the entire book? Additionally I am interested to know the process of collecting and ordering the ayahs/surahs to the present format.

I heard that there are totally 6666 ayats in Al-Quran. But, I counted in my own Quran and it has less than that. What is the actual number of ayats in Al-Quran?

But you always disobeyed and were one of the corruptors**. — 10:91* Why would Jibril a.s. fear about Allah forgiving Firaun, if Allah wasn’t going to forgive Firaun anyways?

From Hadiths and other Islamic sources, I have gathered that Muhammed was given Prophethood at the age of 40. Also in Surah Ahqaf, Verse 15 (compare/see Sahih International translation) Allah says > "We have commanded people to honour their parents. Their mothers bore > them in hardship and delivered them in hardship. Their ˹period of˺ > bearing and weaning is thirty months. In time, *when the child reaches > their prime at the age of forty* they pray, “My Lord! Inspire me to > ˹always˺ be thankful for Your favours which You blessed me and my > parents with, and to do good deeds that please You. And instill > righteousness in my offspring. I truly repent to You, and I truly > submit ˹to Your Will˺.” > > Surah Al Ahqaf Verse 15 As seen in the italized text above, the age of 40 is considered as peak or prime for an individual. Do we have any more details on the subject?

In 30:4 , Surah Al-Rum Ayah 4, the word بضع is translated to "three to nine" in Saheeh International. > Within **three to nine** years. To Allah belongs the command [i.e., > decree] before and after. And that day the believers will rejoice The word seems to mean "a few". I want to know the basis of translating it to "three to nine", with primary sources.

I heard that praying and asking Allah is the best way besides trying your best to give parents what they deserve. They sacrificed everything they had for my future. I miss them a lot. What are some good ayahs or practices I should follow to repay my parents debts?

Ayatul-Kursi (Qur'an 2:255 ) is generally said to be of great benefits e.g. it's recitation is encouraged in order to come under divine protection among many other. Sure it speaks of His Throne. But what makes it so important? Is there a tradition from Muhammad (saww) which speaks of its importance (at such an exalted level)? Also, traditions speaking of it's protective nature would be appreciated.

Assalamualaikum brothers and sisters hope you are all fine. my *first question* is i like to read my prayer(namaz) some times little longer so after **al-fatiha** i recite first **10 verses of al-bakrah** or **mulkh** or **al- imran**. Is this correct. Can i stop at first 10 verses ? My *second question* is in zohar(fard) prayer in first rakath i tell **al-fatiha** with 10 verses of **al- kahf**. In second rakath i tell **al-fatiha** with 10 verses of **al- imran**. Is this correct? My *third question* is in third and fourth rakath i also say some small surahs. Is it ok.

Do we know prophet Muhammad has got any divine inspiration by a dream?

In certain Ayahs of Qur'an, it is mentioned that Allah gifts a wonderful *Gelman* to a good man in heaven. I'm not that familiar with arabic language, but as my best of knowledge *Gelman*, means a (servant/slave) beautiful boy. In that case why should God advertise a Gelman in heaven? Is gay encouraged in heaven? e.g Take a look at Tur, Ayah 24. > وَ يَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمانٌ لَهُمْ کَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌ مَکْنُونٌ > > There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. Note that "هِمْ" is for male, that means "them" is about male not female. The above translation is taken from here .

Salam aleykum Is it permissible to read in prayer just part of a Surah witch I have memorized from the Quran so I can use it as a repetition? If it is so, what to do if I forget how to continue? Should I pick up the Quran, find the part and continue reciting while reading from the Quran in paryer? I found this Question . One problem I have with this answer is that the Imam in Taraweeh reads the whole Quran for the month of Ramadan. So he continues to read from the Quran from the last ayah where he stopped in the last rak'ah or prayer. Thank you.

A long time ago I was reading Quran translation and I came across an ayah which was translated roughly as below.
> If it wasn't for us shaytan would lead all people astray.
technically it mentions how shaytan influence is so strong if Allah helped people no one would've been guided can someone recall this ayah if so can you tell me where is it.

If so why is it ? What if for a person if is a critical source of income and livelihood. What makes this interest haram, especially if the person is not taking the interest by force?please can you provide me with any hadiths and ayats regarding this .

I have a question about the 28th ayah of the Surah Ar-Rum. Surah Ar-Rum - 30:28 > He presents to you an example from yourselves. Do you have among those > whom your right hands possess any partners in what We have provided > for you so that you are equal therein [and] would fear them as your > fear of one another [within a partnership]? Thus do We detail the > verses for a people who use reason. I would like to have a better understanding of the verse and its context. What does it mean and whom does it refer to and what is its reason for revelation?

In the surah El-Muzammil, Allah SWT. says > فَاقْرَءُوا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ > > So recite what is easy from it. I also read the answer provided here that you could either read a minimum of 3 tiny ayahs or 1 non-tiny ayah. How long is 1 ayah considered as non-tiny? For example, is the Yusuf:101 considered tiny or non-tiny in this very context?

I have seen other questions regarding cheating in exams but my question is only about exam/test of Islamic studies or Islamiat. Some people say that you can cheat in Islamiat exam/test because it will be a sin to write a verse or hadith in wrong words or in wrong order of words by mistake. Please clear my confusion that if it is allowed or simply I should not write it if I don't know it in exact words?

Who named, or first called, Ayatul-Kursi , *Ayatul-Kursi*? Of course, it's the Verse of the Throne. But who actually choose to call it by that name? > Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of [all] existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills.
