>Ukaz, Majanna and Dhul-Majaz were marketplaces in the Pre-Islamic period of ignorance. When Islam came, Muslims felt that marketing there might be a sin. So, the Divine Inspiration came: "There is no harm for you to seek the bounty of your Lord (in the seasons of Hajj)." (2.198) **Ibn `Abbas recited the Verse in this way**. (Sahih al-Bukhari 2050 Book 34, Hadith 4)
Can this mode of recitation be considered abrogated?

Islamqa says:

Is it allowed to treat sons better than daughters?
When this question is asked, [Muslim 1623](https://sunnah.com/muslim:1623f) is quoted on Islamic websites. But in the Hadith, the prophet (pbuh) only asks if the man has more sons. Does that mean it’s permissible to treat daughters differently?

I usually see figures in the shadows that are either Dominic looking or have no faces or disfigured. Does this sound like jinn possession? And even with meds they still appear so I'm getting really worried

Do parents need to treat their children with fairness or justness in Islam?

To start with, what I mean by fairness or justness here is meant in the context of general help and financial support etc. in an equal manner not necessarily with equal amounts.
Allah the Almighty actually prescribed for men who want to marry more than a wife to treat their wives in justness saying:
> And if you fear that you will not deal justly with the orphan girls, then marry those that please you of [other] women, two or three or four. But if you fear that you will not be just, then [marry only] one or those your right hand possesses. That is more suitable that you may not incline [to injustice]. (4:3 )
In my imperfection, I could not identify any Islamic religious text that prescribes equal treatment for children, that's why I'm asking whether there is any kind of prescription or at least recommendation to treat the children in such a just, equal or fair manner as meant above and as I'll try to explain by the following example:
Let's say you have more than one child who maybe intelligent, lazy or whatever attribute comes to mind, they might be sane and normal born or disabled nevertheless you'd buy them clothes and be in charge for them etc. because it is a duty especially as long as they are dependent on you, but what if they are mature maybe even married, but some are rich, some are poor and or needy or sick/disabled still dependent on your support. So can a parent for example support only the "needy" child and ignore the "rich" one?

The judge narrated: Amr ibn Marzuq told us: Shu'bah narrated from Sa'd ibn Ibrahim from Sa'id ibn al-Musayyib who said: A female servant of Sa'd, named Zira, went out wearing a new shirt. The wind blew at her so Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) struck her with his stick. Sa'd came to prevent him, so Umar struck him with the stick as well. Sa'd then intended to pray against Umar, but Umar handed him the stick and said, "Take retribution." However, Sa'd forgave Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both).
What is the fault of the servent such that umar ra struck her?

Why do we need a religion like Islam when reality suggests otherwise?

Islam, as a religion, often appears not to provide concrete solutions to real-world problems. Instead, it tends to offer alternative explanations or attributes everything to Allah without an apparent practical basis. Here are a few examples:
**Example #1**: Islam advises that when faced with difficulties, one should pray to Allah, remain patient, be resilient, and continue putting in effort—promising that Allah will ultimately grant success. However, it seems that having patience, staying strong, and continuing efforts alone will lead to success, regardless of invoking Allah. This raises the question: why involve a theological concept when tangible action already holds the potential to resolve the issue?
**Example #2**: Currently, Israel is mercilessly slaughtering Palestinians in large numbers. Islam doesn’t seem to provide an adequate explanation for why this is happening or why Palestinians are being persecuted without any apparent wrongdoing. The practical cause is Zionism, which drives this aggression. Islam, as a religion, appears powerless to counter Zionism, especially since Zionists wield significant control over money and power.
**Example #3**: Islam advocates for the implementation of Sharia to uphold the rule of law. However, in a world dominated by Western hegemony, implementing Sharia is practically impossible unless the entire global order changes, which seems highly unlikely. Furthermore, nations that have well-established rules of law are often not Muslim-majority countries.
**Example #4**: Islam does not promote the concept of nationalism or states. Yet, under current global realities shaped by Western influence and institutions like the United Nations, one cannot simply disregard the concepts of nationalism and the state.
Given these examples, the question arises: why do we need a religion like Islam when reality suggests otherwise?

I have committed a huge mistake. I am 12 and have a huge question. In the past, about a year or two ago, I used to talk about zodiac stars (I only just hear about shirk back then and didn't know much of it as I do now) and astrology often and I didn't know really About it at the time bc I thought I could just do it as a hobby, but I realized just now that might have fallen for it and I am frightened that I'm not going to enter Jannah and when I have made Dua so much I don't feel relieved and I find myself with zodiac videos on my for you page and I am so confused and scared. I am on the verge of tears writing this. I also want Allah to forgive all my sins that I made in the past today and future so this cloud of guilt in my head disappears. I am a Sunni and I would love if a Hanafi or Sunni replies. Jazak'Allah Khair

Suppose I have done the sin X - Will Allah forgive me for doing it? What must I do to be forgiven?
**Motivation:** We have a load of questions (see the list at the end) on the site where someone confesses to have committed some sin and asks whether Allah will forgive him or her. I think that all of these questions essentially have the same answer and it is counterproductive to repeat it all the time. The sin itself and the backstory of the one asking the question is largely irrelevant.
**Optional guidelines for an answer:**
Feel free to link to other questions where something is already covered in more depth.
- To what extent can a human speak on behalf of Allah, does one have the permission to say whether Allah will forgive a **specific person**?
- What should a person do after committing a sin? (kaffara, repentance etc.)
- Could a person be forgiven if he has not repented?
- Is it guaranteed that Allah will accept repentance of everyone who repents?
