Can we interpret ثَلَاثٍ as a separate sentence, and not an adjective?
Almost all translators have translated it as an English adjective, like "three-folded darknesses". Now let's consider it to be a separate sentence, like other parts of the Quran: > فَٱصْبِرْ كَمَا صَبَرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْعَزْمِ مِنَ ٱلرُّسُلِ وَلَا تَسْتَعْجِل لَّهُمْ ۚ كَأَنَّهُمْ يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ مَا يُوعَدُونَ لَمْ يَلْبَثُوٓا۟ إِلَّا سَاعَةًۭ مِّن نَّهَارٍۭ ۚ بَلَـٰغٌۭ ۚ فَهَلْ يُهْلَكُ إِلَّا ٱلْقَوْمُ ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ ٣٥ Here the word *بَلَـٰغٌۭ* seems to be a single sentence. Or > ذَٰلِكَ وَمَن يُعَظِّمْ شَعَـٰٓئِرَ ٱللَّهِ فَإِنَّهَا مِن تَقْوَى ٱلْقُلُوبِ ٣٢ Here the word *ذَٰلِكَ* seems to be a single sentence. Putting my question another way, can the translation be like? > In the darknesses. Three.

My understanding from reading the Quran is that the Torah and gospels are considered to be scripture. How do muslims handle the verses in the gospels that state Jesus came to save the world? That seems counter to what the Quran says that Jesus is just a prophet. Here is a good collection of what the gospels say about Jesus' mission. John 1:12 ESV But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, John 1:29 ESV The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! John 3:14-17 ESV Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. John 3:36 ESV Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. John 5:24 ESV Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. John 8:51 ESV Truly, truly, I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never see death. John 10:11 NIV I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. John 10:17-18 ESV For this reason the Father loves me, because I lay down my life that I may take it up again. No one takes it from me, but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This charge I have received from my Father. John 12:46-48 I have come into the world as light, so that whoever believes in me may not remain in darkness. If anyone hears my words and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day. John 14:6 ESV Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 15:13 ESV Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. Matthew 1:21 ESV She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins. Matthew 20:28 ESV Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Matthew 26:2 NIV “As you know, the Passover is two days away—and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.” Matthew 26:12 NIV "When she poured this perfume on my body, she did it to prepare me for burial." Matthew 26:27-28 NIV Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins." Matthew 26:31-32 NIV Then Jesus told them, “This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: “‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.' But after I have risen, I will go ahead of you into Galilee.” Mark 10:45 ESV For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. Mark 16:16 ESV Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Luke 9:22 ESV Saying, “The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.” Luke 24:46-47 NIV He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, and repentance for the forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem."

Are the following types of investment in physical gold haram or halal? Or only one of the options is halal? 1. You invest a fixed amount per month for e.g. 1000. Let's say the gold price at that time is 100 per grams which means you got 10 gram gold investment. 2. You will keep on doing this for 12 months and these investments will keep adding up for e.g. 10 gram + 12 gram + 9.56 grams etc. 3. Let's say at the end of 12 months you invested 12000 and gold total becomes 40 grams. Now you have options: **Option1** You can get 40 grams of gold jewellery of your choice + you won't have to pay any jewellery making charges. **Option 2** You will get some cash bonus for e.g. 500 which you can add in your original investment which is 12000 so now total becomes 12500. You buy gold jewellery from that + only pay 50% discount on jewellery making charges.

Videos and their relation to the Prohibition of Imagery

Praise be to Allah, Assalamu alaykyum, Hello, my question is simple. It is well known that in Sahih Bukhari, imagery is forbidden. However, how does this apply to videos which are images (called frames) (created with pixels, and therefore I could argue that they are 'drawn') that are simply in the thousands and move like in a slideshow (but extremely fast)? I am aware that other scholars have already ruled that videos are different than pictures, however I find their reasoning to be often forget that videos are images, there are simply thousands of them. I have been avoiding youtube and all videos for a while, due to a hadith which states that the Prophet salla allahu allayhee wa salem (pbuh) stated that, >''What is lawful is clear and what is unlawful is clear, but between them are certain doubtful things which many people do not know. So he who guards against doubtful things keeps his religion and his honour blameless. But he who falls into doubtful things falls into that which is unlawful, just as a shepherd who grazes his cattle in the vicinity of a pasture declared prohibited (by the king); he is likely to stray into the pasture. Mind you, every king has a protected pasture and Allah's involved limits is that which He has declared unlawful. Verily, there is a piece of flesh in the body, if it is healthy, the whole body is healthy, and if it is corrupt, the whole body is corrupt. Verily, it is the heart'' This hadith is the reason why I have blocked videos from my life regardless of other scholars ruling they are okay because they seem to be a middle position which is best to avoid. Is my reasoning sound? Or could it be argued that instead, I am actually forbidding something lawful? Which is itself a sin stated in the quran? ex: > Do not forbid the good things which Allah has made lawful for you, and do not transgress (Surah Al-Ma'idah - 87-88 ) In general, are videos prohibited? Is the consensus on whether they are or are not unanimous? (like does everyone say its okay, or only some do) and is my reasoning sound to avoid them? For all who might answer, may you tell me before answering if you are an expert or simply a fellow Muslim giving his opinion? Thank you.

A Man who kills 100 people If the angels of mercy and the angels of punishment argued amongst themselves regarding him. Are there 2 angels of death? One is mercy and the other is wrath. Does this suggest that there are 2 angles of death? Malak al-Maut, or the angel of death, is a single entity responsible for solely extracting people's souls in Allah's time. There are two different group angles of assist. They have two distinct roles: mercy and wrath. The Angel of Mercy will make a person have a peaceful and easy death (but it is not guaranteed that they will have a peaceful death); however, if the Angel of Wrath processes the soul, the person will receive punishment and have a hard soul extract (but it is not guaranteed). Is it 2 in 1.

How does the all-knowing God and human's free will interact in the physical world in Islam?

From my very basic understanding, in Islam, everything that has happened and that _will_ happen is [already known by God](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Predestination_in_Islam) . Yet it also says at the same time that humans have free will. I don't get how this works in detail. If God knows everything and is the source of all actions, then we are like cogs in a giant wheel and have no free will. Yet if humans have free will, then God is not a part of at least some parts of the universe (such as human minds)? But God is a part of everything, God is not absent from any part of the universe, so I don't get how these two ideas can coexist. The only way I can imagine it is like a rat in a wheel. The rat is in a cage, running along in a spinning wheel. Inside the wheel, they are free to run and run and do whatever they want. But they are not causing anything outside of the wheel to happen, so in that sense their actions are not tied to the rest of the system. But that's as far as that metaphor goes. I have heard some people say that "well God controls the _spiritual world_, while humans control the physical world. The physical world is a test bed for how humans act, and after death they will be judged for their actions in the spiritual world, and a corresponding reward or punishment chosen for them." Sort of thing. But even then, that is saying that God is only present in the spiritual dimension, not the physical. It is as if God carved out a space (physical space) where God is not present. And only interacts through messages or something. But that contradicts other ideas which say God is omnipresent in the universe. So I'm not sure how this works. Can you please explain how the concepts of human free will and an all-knowing God can coexist, from the perspective of Islam?

Unfortunately I have committed sins. Human is weak, we know this. Recently something had happened which resulted in me turning completely more to my faith (Islam). I am now performing 5x Salah after many years of neglect for one reason or another (and I am very ashamed). I kept my fast/Ramadan this year, Alhamdulillah, and learning so much more about Islam. I am trying to become a better Muslim and seek forgiveness from Allah in almost every Salah and before I go to bed. I am worried, tremendously, so much so that I cry hysterically that Allah may not forgive me. When the day comes that I am laid to rest in my grave that I will be tormented because of the sins I have committed. What can one do to try and make things better for them? How can one better themselves and "wipe" past sins away (if it is possible)? How can one be saved from the torment of the grave? We know that Allah SWT knows best and knows all and knows what we do not know.

I found this Dua: https://hamariweb.com/islam/musibat_zada_ko_dekhte_waqt_ki_dua_md48.aspx ً This supplication is to be said to one’s self, not directly to the one in trial or tribulation. ‘All praise is for Allah Who saved me from that which He tested you with and Who most certainly favoured me over much of His creation.’ **My interpretation** of this Dua is that it is said when seeing someone else in trouble and giving thanks to Allah that I myself did not suffer this trouble. Well, what about a Dua to ask Allah to seek refuge for the person I see in trouble? Could I change the wording of the following to make everything from first person tense to third person tense?

Qur'an 66:10 says "Allah presents an example of those who disbelieved: the wife of Noah and the wife of Lot. ...". However, it is forbidden for a Muslim man to marry a disbeliever: > It is permissible for a Muslim man to marry a non-Muslim woman if she is Christian or Jewish, but it is not permissible for him to marry a non-Muslim woman who follows any religion other than these two. -- Islam Q&A And to my knowledge, this is a typical opinion. I'm trying to figure out how these two items fit together. Perhaps Qur'an 66:10 means that they're wives were people of the book. Or perhaps this rule didn't apply during the time of Prophets Lut and Nuh. **Question**: How could Prophets Lut and Nuh marry disbelievers when it's forbidden?

However there are two points that make me think that i don't have urinary incontinence , and that hence i cannot react the way i read on many forums before: 1. i am certain that it's not urinary incontinence because it only happens time to time 2. it happens only a few minutes after urinating and it's in very small amounts To face the problem i know i must be certain that all the urine has left my urethra(istibra') and for that i tried to : 1. place a tissue in my underwear, however it moves out of place basically all the time which makes it useless (unless i fix it with a paperclip, which doesn't sounds to be a good solution). By the way, can't i just ignore if urine has dried on my underwear in such a way that i cannot find where the drop happened to fall? 2. standing up, walking around with me holding a tissue to collect the eventual drops 3. squeezing my penis which actually gives me an erection and hence make it even more difficult to empty the urethra. None of these solutions seems to be the correct one : they're time consuming and not very efficient.
The bad thing is that if i want to relieve myself but the prayer time is close, i hold myself back if it's not too hard because otherwise the last drops will make me waste time and be late for the prayer

I said earlier that what i did didn't sound like a good solution, i said that because i feel like i'm doing too much (like when i was obsessed with purity until i learned to ignore uncertainty), also i learned that Allah doesn't not intend to make religion hard for us and this is why i think that i'm doing things wrong

**To summarize: i need an answer for how to purify myself properly after urinating without getting inconvenient.** If you answer this please be as accurate as possible and give proofs and sources for each argument. Barakallahufikum
