I was told initially that 2 things are infallible, Quran and the sunnah.
Later on I learnt 3 things are infallible
A. Quran.
B. Sunnah.
C. Ijma of companions (proof was given as 4:115)
When I came across a report, it made me think if ijma of ummah is infallible.
> ***Whatever the Muslims view as good is good to Allah, and whatever they view as evil is evil to Allah***.”
Source: Musnad Ahmad 3600
Since, the view of Allah is infallible, face value it appears the ijma of muslims is infallible as per report of musnad Ahmed.
Hence the main question which muslims scholars say the ijma(consensus) of Muslim ummah is infallible.

> The Prophet ﷺ was asked, “Where was Allah before He created His creation?’ He said: “He was above the clouds, below which was air, and above which was air. Then He created His Throne above the water.” (Sunan Ibn Majah )
When Allah (swt) himself says in the Holy Quran 21:30 that we created every living thing from water so can you please tell me! How can clouds be formed without the creation of water upon which was Allah (swt)?

I don't understand what doing the sunnah has to do with loving Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). After all, we do our deeds for Allah's sake and not for Prophet Muhammad's sake (peace be upon him). From my understanding of Islam, a classic example of not loving the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is not following the Sunnah. However, it seems to contradict doing things for Allah's sake and this is confusing me. I just don't understand why I can't love the Prophet (peace be upon him) without doing the sunnah (if that's true).

I am not a muslim, so I apologize for any mistake I might make while writing this question. I have recently started reading an english translation of the Quran, and there is a recurring phrase I am not sure how to interpret: "if you only knew". It occurs in a few places in Al-Baqarah, for example here, in 2:184:
> [Fasting for] a limited number of days. So whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] – then an equal number of days [are to be made up]. And upon those who are able [to fast, but with hardship] – a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor person [each day]. And whoever volunteers excess – it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, **if you only knew.**
(The translation here is Sahih International.)
I need help understanding what is meant by this phrase. What would change, if we knew what?

We're a group of students, studying at a prestigious University, we had to shift from city campus to its permanent campus due to some new Govt. policies. Currently we're living in a rural area and have been facing various problems, but the main issue abou which I am going to request you to clarify me is that, over here two students have made such an accommodation crisis that if you need a room for living you have to take the room from them with double and sometimes tripled rent price than if you were able to take it directly from the owner of the building. For example, a room would cost 1500 bucks per month if you take it from the owner, but now you have to spend 4000 bucks (more or less) for that room monthly only because of those two students, as they have already taken those room and left us with no choice but to take rooms with that high price from them. And due to lack of adequate apartments, we have no alternatives to stay in other places or buildings as they have taken all of them and making a lot of money out of it. And we are the victims of their business.
Now my question is, what they are doing, according to the rulings of islam, is it halal or haram business?

Is it true that prophet Muhammad’s close companion beat his wives? If so, how was he promised paradise?
Prophet Muhammad said:
> *Abu Bakr will be in Paradise, ‘Umar will be in Paradise, ‘Usmaan will be in Paradise, ‘Ali will be in Paradise, Talhah will be in Paradise,
> al-Zubayr will be in Paradise, ‘Abd al-Rahmaan ibn ‘Awf will be in
> Paradise, Sa’d will be in Paradise, Sa’eed will be in Paradise, and
> Abu ‘Ubaydah ibn al-Jarraah will be in Paradise.” (Narrated by
> al-Tirmidhi: 3680)*
But I’ve also read that he did this to his wives
> *Asma also recalled: “Whenever he reprimanded one of us, he would break off a branch from the wooden clothes hangers and beat her with
> it until he broke it over her.”
>
> Al-Zubayr’s wives complained that he had “some harshness towards
> women”. Asma wanted a divorce after he tied her and her (unnamed)
> co-wife together by their hair and beat both of them “severely”.

Do not enter your women in their behinds"
(Jami at Tirmidhi-1166)
"Allah will not look at a man who enters a man or a woman in the behind.”
(Tirmidhi)
"He who has intercourse with his wife through her anus is accursed"(Abu-Dawud)
"Allah is not too shy to tell the truth” three times. “Do not have intercourse with women in their back passages"
(Ibn Majah and Musnad Ahmed)
Do other scholars consider these narrators reliable? Are those who judged these narrators as weak narrators, incorrect?
It doesn't make sense to just accept hadith as authentic if scholars have said certain narrators in the chain are reliable? Are there known reliable hadith which have unreliable narrators?
Citing the opinion of scholars who say it's wrong, as an argument for it being wrong, isn't really an argument.
The following website linked here, in my opinion is trash and is flat incorrect about how they interpret the Qur'anic verse about entering your wives as you wish, being about anal sex. But there's a lot of valid arguments here regarding the hadith in question - I am unsure if they accurately portrayed the thoughts of the scholars in here.

I'm a 26 years old girl from a middle class family. My parents are careless about my marriage. They don’t want me to get married fearing that I might not provide for them. They also make an excuse saying we don’t have money. If a guy marries you without anything then we can allow you. Also, they want to live with me forever. I don’t have any problem with that but how can I find such a guy? Isn’t it my parents duty? I was raised in a conservative environment. I can't even talk to guys properly. How can I find a man for me? If I talk about this, my mother calls me in various names that I'm shameless and that's why I want to get married. She also curses me saying I'm not grateful and I will never find happiness and success in life and I'll go to jahannam. They are not fulfilling their duty. Moreover they are cursing me. What can I do? I'm also afraid of her curses as mother's prayers are always answered. I fear that maybe I will never be successful as my mother is cursing me. But I'm a human too and sometimes I get a mental breakdown and I keep shouting. Later on I regret and cry. I also developed OCD according to a psychiatrist.
N.B: My parents don’t bear my expenses. I earn and contribute to my family.

Couple of modern day scholars like ibn utheymeen and albani say the aal of Muhammad (saw) includes the righteous scholars and sincere muslims.
When we say aal of prophet muhammad (saw) it means ahlul bayt.
Since we have 2 reports regarding stirctly adhering to ***Quran and sunnah*** and ***Quran and ahlul bayt***.
Does the report adhere to Quran and ahlul bayt ***EXPLAINS*** adhere to Quran and sunnah. hence ultimately the main question
***Do any scholars opine sunnah reports explain other sunnah reports***?
