Content of men shoudl leave house in morning

I wanted to find out what is the context of man should leave home in morning to find work? In the days of work from home, it is impossible to find work on-site so how can we make sure the context of “Men should leave houses in morning”? Little background is I am software developer and lost my job, last time left job I was in home and in home my wife was always on phone, when I tell her to stop and give time to home, kids she get angry and say that men should not be home. This is a problem because if I don’t have work I cannot pay co-working space to work but still her relatives think I should. What is the context of “men should leave house after dawn” and how can this be applied to modern day?
