I have been married for 7 years and Alhamdulillah I have a wonderful husband. However, from initial stage of marriage, I have difficulties adjusting with my in laws, specially my mother in law. She is not evil but I can not tolerate her for long time like more than weeks. Because she has a habit of changing things around and she always mess up my home without my permission, takes things without asking me. And also always interfere where I go and indirectly lectures me and wants me to cook and all. And since she tried to be typical from beginning, I could not accept her whole heartedly. I have never interfered if my husband fulfils his obligations towards them but I never wants to live near them. Since I have moved abroad and they are also coming here, I do not want to live in same city as them (they have other children here). If I pray to Allah to not have a situation where I have to live with or near them since situation of living with or near them always creates problem between my husband and me, will I be sinner?

Assalamu aleykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh! Just as the title suggests, today i unfortunately couldn’t perform a Maghrib prayer due to me being outside of my home, let me elaborate: In my country women are mostly prohibited from praying in mosques, yes, it’s a country where more than 70% of the population are muslim, yet historically it just happened to be like this. Thankfully, in the recent years newly built mosques allow women in as they finally started constructing masjids that also include separate areas for women. I kind of went off topic, but what i meant to say is that i couldn’t have prayed Maghrib in a masjid. Then i also asked my teacher because of whose classes i missed Maghrib a few times already if i could just pray it inside of our driving school, to which i’ve received a rejection. So please, tell me what to do in this situation. I know that there are a few conditions as to how one can make up missed salah if one is to do it unintentionally, but as you can see, this scenario doesn’t apply to this rule. P.S: I’d love to skip these driving lessons during these blessed days of Ramadan, but i already did skip 2/3 of my weekly classes for a few weeks straights and since my graduation there is nearing, i am not allowed to skip any more, so please, advise me on what to do. At the time of me writing this, i still haven’t prayed Isha but i do have more than enough time to do so and thus i wanted to receive advice before i perform it.

Is joining Maghrib and Isha salah together everyday for 2 months allowed?
In summer, around May 20 to July 20, **the twilight in the sky doesn't disappear or disappears very late, after midnight.** It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: > The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: > >...
In summer, around May 20 to July 20, **the twilight in the sky doesn't disappear or disappears very late, after midnight.** It was narrated from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr ibn al-‘Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: > The Messenger of Allah (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) said: > > "The time for Maghrib is when the sun sets, so long as the twilight has not disappeared. The time for 'Isha' is so long as half of the night has not passed." > > Narrated by Muslim, 612 . The question that people would ask is if the twilight doesn't disappear, **when is Isha time?** A hafiz told me that some people say you don't pray Isha at all, but this is blasphemy. He used the following verse and other evidence to support that you don't miss out Isha: > "Guard strictly (five obligatory) As-Salawat (the prayers) especially the middle Salat (i.e., the best prayer – 'Asr)." > > (Al-Baqarah 2:238) **He said that if you don't pray Isha at all, then there will be no middle salah as the order will be: Fajr, Zuhr, Asr and Maghrib, and Asr is the most important out of all of them.** What we see in salah timetables are **estimated time for Isha, but we do not know, precisely so that will not be reliable** as in some countries, **the twilight never disappears or disappears very late that which there is not enough time to pray Isha.** Also, it is makrooh to pray Isha after midnight. **Ramadan is in the summer. This is why Taraweeh is prayed quite late.** Also, in these countries, Suhoor is quite early. An example the hafiz told me was that in Norway, Maghrib is at 12:10, and Suhoor is at 12:40, meaning there are only 30 minutes to pray, so the people pray Maghrib and pray Isha straight after. **The problem is that student, teachers, etc. would be strongly affected by this.** They would have to pray Taraweeh and get back home around 12, and then they will have to wake up for Suhoor at 2, pray Fajr at around 3:20, then wake up for school at six etc. This hafiz told me that you should join Maghrib and Isha together, providing that you sleep straight after as you can stay up and could have prayed Isha later. This hadith supports it: > Ibn' Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him) who said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) joined Zuhr and 'Asr, and Maghrib and 'Isha,' in Madeenah when there was no fear and no rain. According to the hadeeth of Wakee,' he said: I said to Ibn' Abbaas: Why did he do that? He said: So that his ummah would not be subjected to hardship, i.e., so that they would not face any difficulty. > > (Muslim 705 ) **Question:** Is joining Maghrib and Isha salah together every day for two months allowed? I'm asking this question as this hadith below says: > The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said when asked which deed is most beloved to Allaah: > > "Prayer offered on time." > > Narrated by al-Bukhaari (527) and Muslim (85) . And if you keep joining up the prayer, you won't get the best deed. Also, this article says that Hanafis don't allow joining up prayers except in 2 cases, and I mainly follow Hanafi madhab. Still, the hafiz also supports Hanafi madhab, but he won't follow the rule for that.

How to interpret the ahadith about joining two prayers due to rain?

One day (in winter) an imam came from the next close city (about 20-25kms away) and held the Friday Khotba in the mosque I was at. Afterwards he said we will inchallah pray the 'Asr now as it is raining and as I'm travelling you'll need to go ahead and complete the 4 raka's. I was asking myself first he is not travelling -but that's his matter- as he comes from a close city and secondly how could he say it was raining while the rain actually stopped and was not even heavy? Does this mean we can join prayers just because it was raining at that day even if it was no more raining? So my question is how careful or how extensively can one construe or interpret the ahadith (See for example the hadith displayed below) allowing joining two prayers due to rain? > Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) combined the noon prayer with the afternoon prayer and the sunset prayer with the 'Isha' prayer in Medina without being in a state of danger or **rainfall**. And in the hadith transmitted by Waki' (the words are): " I said to Ibn 'Abbas: What prompted him to do that? He said: So that his (Prophet's) Ummah should not be put to (unnecessary) hardship." And in the hadith transmitted by Mu'awiya (the words are):" It was said to Ibn 'Abbas: What did he intend thereby? He said he wanted that his Ummah should not be put to unnecessary hardship." (Sahih Muslim ) What are the positions of scholars on this matter?

In the sunnah of the prophet, it is known that he would on occasion combine his *salawat*, especially when not doing so would cause hardship (e.g., travelling). For example, the following practice was narrated by Ibn Abbas: > The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) observed the noon and afternoon prayers together, and the sunset and Isha' prayers together without being in a state of fear or in a state of journey. When this combined *salat* is performed, in what way (if any) does its form differ from the normal separated *salawat*? As in, if one were to (hypothetically) combine the dhuhr and asr *salawat*, would they... - ...pray a normal *salat* with eight *rakat*? - ...pray a normal *salat* with four *rakat*, immediately followed by another normal *salat* with four *rakat*? - ...pray a *salat* with eight *rakat*, with a *taslim* and/or *takbir* between the fourth and fifth *rakat*? - ...none of the above?

As such, one would be allowed to pray dhur and asr together, with 2 raqaat each for example. But when is the maximum number of days in which one can do this? I've heard that if you are in a certain place for more than 3 days, then you are not permitted to combine and shorten prayers. Others says 15 days, and some say as long as you are far from your home, however long that may be, you are permitted to shorten and combine prayers.

When/why is it okay to combine prayers?
I have read that some groups combine prayers at different prayer times. This has been confusing me, because I don't understand the reasoning behind this. (I am a new Muslim.) - When is it okay to combine prayers? - Which prayers can be combined? - Why it is OK to combine prayers?

What other explanations of the hadith of combining prayers (Sahih Muslim 1636) are given by Muslim scholars?

Ahadiths from 1628 to 1637 mention combining prayers in Sahih Muslim. I saw scholars on Huda TV and other places discuss some of these ahadiths, but I never heard of sahih muslim 1636 before: > 'Abdullah b. Shaqiq reported: Ibn 'Abbas one day addressed us in the afternoon (after the afternoon prayer) till the sun disappeared and the stars appeared, and the people began to say: Prayer, prayer. A person from Banu Tamim came there. He neither slackened nor turned away, but (continued crying): Prayer, prayer. Ibn 'Abbas said: May you be deprived of your mother, do you teach me Sunnah? And then he said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) combining the noon and afternoon prayers and the sunset and 'Isha' prayers. 'Abdullah b. Shaqiq said: Some doubt was created in my mind about it. So I came to Abu Huraira and asked him (about it) and he testified his assertion. (See also here ) Recently someone told me of this hadith. They made a convincing case for why combining Zhur and Asr prayers and Magrib and Isha prayers is allowed. However, As a sunni muslim, I wanted to ask if sunni scholars have addressed this hadith and it may have other meanings than the surface level meaning a laymen like me can derive. Surely this is such an important thing, so Imam Muslim and others would have talked about this hadith and made it clear to the muslim community.
