What was the qibla for prayer in the Meccan period, before migration?
I remember stories from sirah that the Prophet used to pray at the Kaaba during his stay in Mecca and I've always assumed that it meant that he faced the Kaaba.
However I also know that the qiblah was changed around an year after the migration to Medinah, from Bait-ul-Muqadas to Kaaba?
So was the qiblah in Mecca also Bait-ul-Muqadas, or was it changed twice or is there something else?

Is it recommended to face Qibla when one is about to die?

Saying Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah or the Shahada before dying is very recommended, because:
> The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “If a person’s last words are Laa ilaaha ill-Allaah, Paradise will be guaranteed for him.”
>
> Classed as Saheeh (authentic)
But what about facing the Qibla? Is there any narration about facing the Qibla?

Why do we face the Kiblah when praying?
Why it is necessary to stand towards Kiblah (the Holy Ka’bah) while praying, while Allah is everywhere and does not have a specific direction?

Where in Torah the change of Muslims' Qibla is mentioned?

And in [this](https://abdurrahman.org/2014/01/27/changingqiblah/) article it is mentioned that Jews knew that Muslims would change their Qibla.
How would they know? Where in the Torah, or Tanakh it has been mentioned?

If I delay my salah until I get home then I'll miss it. However, I'm currently praying facing the wrong direction.
What should I do?
Thank you

I share a room with my sister and the room is very small. The qiblah faces my bed so when my sister prays she is facing me.
My bed is not a floor bed, it haves a platform. Meaning when she prays I am not right next to her **but I am still in front of her.**
Also sometimes she wakes up before me for fajr and I am sleeping.
So, my question is should I move away whenever my sister prays? Or is it okay for her to pray while I am sitting or sleeping on my bed? ***Should she put a pillow or some type of barrier just to stay safe?***

Reading Quran from the mus'haf but not facing the qiblah?
I just found out that we have to face the qiblah when reading Quran from the mus'haf. I usually read from the mus'haf in my bed before sleeping which is facing opposite the qiblah. Does reading Quran from the mus'haf another direction than the qiblah have an effect on the deeds or validity?

I live in Western Europe and have always heard the adage "face East" but of course Mecca is also demonstrably south of Europe as well.
My question comes from the somewhat surprising fact I learned recently which is that if you were to fly from New York to Mecca, you would begin by flying North East and over Greenland(!) following the curve of the Earth, turning back South East (although always following a straight line on the surface of the Earth) towards Mecca.
Do New Yorkers face North East in muslim prayer? If not, which way do they face and why?
Given our modern day understanding of the shape of the Earth, if Muslims do not face North East when praying in New York, should they?
I want to say that I could see this question being taken as sarcastic but I genuinely would like to know the answer. I'm a Maths teacher and I think it would be something interesting to bring into a topic on 3D shapes or coordinates.

We know that except for Prophet Muhammed (SAW), other Prophets were sent only for a specific time or to a particular community or location.
Given that the shariah for the different Prophets might have been similar but not identical, did other ummahs have a different Qibla at the same period in history?
For example, is it possible that the Qibla for Bani Israel was in Jerusalem while at the same moment it was in say South America for people of Latin America?

Assalamo alaikum wrwb,
I am in Toronto. We have started a new Mussallah here. We are facing towards the main wall keeping the rows parallel to front wall, while the Qibla is about 15-20 degrees towards right side. The managements says that this way they can save the space and can accommodate more people during Ramadan or Jummah etc. Is it ok to tilt the direction approx 15-20 degrees based on just these reasons?

Is it haram to pray in the complete opposite direction?
Let's say you are praying, and someone stands right behind you praying 180 degrees away from the direction your praying in. Wouldn't it be the exact same thing considering the fact that the earth is round and you both are praying in the same direction?

Is this correct?
If this is correct, is there any explanation about the reason that any direction is permitted inside them (other than Masjid Al-Aqsa being the first qibla)?
(I would prefer answer with references to primary sources like Quran and/or Hadith).
