How can I leave without them." And he was burnt alive in the train cabin with his family. I know that if a person dies due to fire he is considered a martyr, this is for the wife and child. But what about the husband? Will his cause be considered suicide? Is this haram, the thing he did?

Is it possible to repent from suicide?
Suicide is haram; see e.g. [Qur'an 4:29][1] (*do not kill yourselves \[or one another\]*) and https://islam.stackexchange.com/q/323/17163 and https://islam.stackexchange.com/q/17592/17163. However, while suicide is often pictured as a fairly short process, the reality may be blurrier: 1. Try to kill oneself. 2. Don't immediately succeed, but irreparably damage one's body. 3. Subsequently die from the damage. E.g. if someone drank poison, it may take hours to years before it resulted in the person's death. When suicide is not immediate, it may be possible to sincerely repent to Allah before inevitably dying from suicide. **Question**: Is it possible to repent from suicide? While forgiveness is mentioned in the Qur'an Qur'an 39:53 (*Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.*), ahadith such as Sahih al-Bukhari 1363, 1364 (*My slave has caused death on himself hurriedly, so I forbid Paradise for him*) indicate a prolonged punishment for suicide.

Allah says in the Quran: > {Surely Allah does not forgive that anything should be associated with Him, and forgives what is besides that to whomsoever He pleases; and whoever associates anything with Allah, he devises indeed a great sin.} > >(Quran 4: 48) So my question is,when a person committed suicide, will Allah forgive him if He wants?

A couple was in the habit of having constant conjugal fights. In the course of one such altercation, the husband asked the wife, "Can't you get any poison?". The wife then and there got the insecticide which was incidentally at their house, drank it, and in-spite-of the best efforts from the doctors, died in hospital after fighting with death for two days. Now, definitely, the woman is in a very big sin by committing suicide. On the other hand, the question is, the children of this fellow want to know how should they treat their father in light of Islamic teachings? He is their father non-the-less. Again, he is the person who is indirectly responsible for the act committed by their mother.

I am in a really troubled state of mind right now. Things are not going right in my life. I know that it is haram to harm oneself, but the thought of slitting myself on my wrists, forearms, neck, thighs, legs, torso and other parts is coming to my mind nowadays. Please suggest any dua or hadith or anything to improve my condition. And please make dua for me, it's a sincere request to everyone here. If there is any dua, hadith, ayah from the Noble Qur'an to help me calm down and bring peace to my heart, then please please, for the love of Allah SWT, suggest it to me. And please, as a final request, do not use rough language in the answers.

When Abraham said, "My Lord is the one who gives life and causes death" ..."**(Surat Al-Baqarah, verse 258)** - "But whoever kills a believer intentionally - his recompense is Hell, wherein he will abide eternally, and Allah has become angry with him and has cursed him and has prepared for him a great punishment."**(Surat An-Nisā', verse 93)** - "...if anyone slew a person - unless it be for murder or for spreading mischief in the land - it would be as if he slew the whole people: and if anyone saved a life, it would be as if he saved the life of the whole people..."**(Surat Al-Mā'idah, verse 32)** **(2). The God Has Already Decided One's Death (How and When), Even Before He/She Was Born in this World** When you combine these two points you will get The God has already decided who will be in hell before He/She is even Born. This actually is a question asked by a friend of mine, but I'm clueless. Can Anybody Give Me Any Explanations, Instead of just Down-voting.?

Suicide to save someone's life

A woman in my country committed suicide. Through a lot of evidences, it has been proved that it was his husband who requested her to commit suicide. The husband was partaking in adultery and didn't want her wife to be in the way between his and his fellow fornicator. The wife who loved her husband dearly and was greatly hurt by his abuse decided to comply with his wish. It is also proven that the husband used to abuse her and hurt her physically and mentally. She was forced to bring money from her father which the husband used to spend on his fellow fornicator. The family also received a huge dowry from her family. And yet the husband and her family kept her impoverished. There had been times when she hadn't eaten anything for three days straight. However, despite all of this she still loved her husband and was completely loyal to him. And when he wanted her to commit suicide she complied with his wish with a broken heart. All of us in my country are praying that Allah forgives her for her sins including the sin of committing suicide and is granted the highest level of paradise. However, we are just humans swept by emotions. I wanted to know from the scholars what lies in wait for her. Would she be forgiven? Cause after all she has just complied with her husband's wish and had loved him despite his treatment. I am not a scholar but I do know that Allah has promised paradise to those women who love their husbands and remain loyal to them till the very end. So what will happen to her? Last but not the least it is my sincerest wish that she is forgiven.

Is death time predestined or can it be extended by supplication?
Is it true that dua and keeping one's kin close could extend one's lifespan? Inversely, could severing one's relationships be a cause for someone's early demise? Ajal'ul qada' and ajal'ul qadar? For example, if a person commits suicide, does the person die earlier than the predestined time of death?

The World Health Organization writes the following about suicide: > Over 800,000 people die due to suicide every year. ... By far **the strongest risk factor for suicide is a previous suicide attempt**. ... The prevention of suicide has not been adequately addressed due to a lack of awareness of suicide as a major public health problem and the **taboo in many societies to openly discuss it**. For *suicide attempt survivors*, the general advice is to open up and talk about suicide. > When you are ready, **it is important to talk about what has happened with people you trust. This allows others to be there for you and provides a chance to work out where to go from here.** (BeyondBlue.com.au ) Aside from the general relief of simply having someone to talk to, other people should be aware of one's past suicide attempts so that they can help appropriately in the case of a future suicide attempt. It's best not to wait until you're at the brink before starting the discussion, as it's hard to speak coherently during these crises. However, suicide is a major sin in Islam (number 29 in Major Sins by al-Dhahabi (pdf )) and talking about sins is forbidden in Islam: > **It is prohibited (haram) and sinful to talk about sins, whether current or past, except when there is a Shariah-countenanced reason.** Even when such a reason exists, if it is possible to mention something general (such as not mentioning oneself or any particular type of sins) then mentioning specific sins would remain sinful. This is because it is: (1) obligatory to avoid vain talk, and (2) obligatory to conceal one’s sins. (SeekersHub ) **Question**: Is it okay to openly discuss one's past suicide attempts? It may be that discussing one's past suicide attempts in an effort to safeguard against future attempts might be considered a "Shariah-countenanced reason", especially if suggested by medical professionals. The most relevant search hit was a question Past Suicide Attempts Still Affect My Life to an Islamic counsellor who doesn't quite address talking about past attempts directly: "...my advice at this point would be to talk to your mom about these feelings and ask her to help you get therapy."

> **Definition:** Euthanasia, also known as assisted suicide, physician-assisted suicide (dying) , doctor-assisted dying (suicide) , and more loosely termed mercy killing, basically means to take a deliberate action with the express intention of ending a life to relieve intractable (persistent, unstoppable) suffering. Some interpret euthanasia as the practice of ending a life in a painless manner. If a patient is suffering great pain from a disease, and there is no hope left for him/her with today's technology, can he/she have euthanasia? I know that Islam prohibits suicide in general. What about his special kind of suicide? Is it permissible? Is there any example application in Sunnah?
