Salaam everyone! I need some advice on a halal income situation. I work at a game studio where, unfortunately, they use pirated software. I’m just an employee and follow the tasks my employer gives me — I don’t own the company or choose the tools. Now, I’m planning to take an interest-free loan from this company (they’ll deduct it monthly from my salary) to build my own personal PC. On that PC, I plan to create my own independent games using only authentic and legally purchased tools— no piracy, no inappropriate content — fully clean. Once I launch those games and start earning from them, will that income be 100% halal? Or is there a gray area I should be aware of? I’d really appreciate your insights. JazakAllah khair!

So there are many websites which uploads video courses in their websites in free of costs that are downloaded from other paid websites like Udemy, Skillshare, Lynda etc. Though this courses are given free of cost actually they are paid courses. 1. Is it permissible or haram for me to download courses from the free websites and learn from them?? 2. Is it permissible or haram for me to share those courses with other peoples so that thay can have those courses??

Is reading copyrighted books online haram in my case? Pretty similar to an older post on this forum. There’s a book I want to read that’s in Japanese AND has an official English translation. There are also others that don’t have official English translations. I’ve asked my parents if they could buy it. They do have the money and were going to buy it, but after doing a quick Google and finding out that book can just be read for free online they told me to do that. I respect their decision and politely told them that this type of thing is against Islam. They told me not to worry since it’s ‘only against Islam if you make money off of it’. I as a teen don’t have any money, so I can’t exactly go about buying it either. I did a bit of digging online and found I could rent each chapter of the book for 48 hours on a Japanese site by the official publisher. They have their own system where you can gain the currency to read the chapters through ways other that direct payment (e.g watching ads and a daily free chapter). It doesn’t seem to be too much of a chore so **I wanted to ask if it is permissible to legally access the chapters in Japanese but read the English through ‘read for free’ websites.** Edit: I’d try to abide by the rules and make it as similar as possible to the experience of just reading the Japanese by not going past the 48 hour limit and renting the chapter again if I needed more time to read it.

I own Minecraft physical disc for PS4. I also have a subscription which allows to play Minecraft on cloud on android. Is it permissible for me to pirate Minecraft on android so that I can play without internet?

Now a days we live in a society where we use computers on daily basis.such as work places, universities etc...but in almost every computer we use pirated software... Such as I am a student of architecture.To complete my design I have to use pirated software.And after graduation when I enter in workplace I have to work with architectural firm that also use pirated software for design.the software are very much costly and as an student we cannot afford it. so i have a pirated windows 7 and want to move to linux ubuntu using my windows 7 to download and burn linux ubuntu file into a disc, if i work using that ubuntu OS that i get using pirated windows, is my earnings halal or haram?

I have a question. So I was wondering if something is considered haram or not. So I play this game called “The Walking Dead”. In this game there are 4 seasons. Now I have a question. Let’s say I pay for season 1. Could I pirate season 2 of the game? Because I am not completely just taking something with no pay. But I’m basically just under paying. Is it still haram if I only pay for 1 season and pirate the other 3?

I have downloaded Windows from the official website and now I want to make it bootable to a usb. I have a option to make bootable through my friend's laptop which has pirated Windows. I'm confused is it haram and sin to use it. Around me mostly people use pirated Windows so I'm very confused how to find a person who has not pirated Windows. And may be if I found a person with not pirated Windows it's chances he booted through a pirated Windows. This chain may would be in a form of continuous sins.

My question is regarding the actual *using* of software that was obtained from a pirated source, either with or without the end user's knowledge. For example, many of the computer centres here will sell computers with a pirated OS pre-installed, and they will provide discs of the pirated software. Is it *haram* to use these, given that most of the users don't even realize that what they have is pirated software? Must they stop using the software when they actually learn that it was originally pirated?

For the past two to three weeks I'm really confused about this thing. There are sites online that offer free content to watch. It's written in their site that they don't host any videos and their videos are uploaded by users. So that video may be copyright but site claims no ownership of that videos. Similarly some pirated videos are also uploaded on YouTube by some users. ´ Are we allowed to watch them? Would we be stealing if we are streaming such videos? I'm not talking about downloading, copying or distributing but is only streaming also not allowed?

I want to ask a question that they are some websites that will offer you to streams free videos that are copyrighted. For example watching a documentary like building giants( i am student of civil engineering so interested in watching it). Are we sinful for that because i am paying for the internet.

I am making some software. I have started this before I found out that using pirated software is bad. The logo I made is made with pirated software. Everything else was free. I intend to earn money from this software. Should I re-make the logo without pirated software?

Piracy is something that begins with the stage of technology so being something new so we do not pay much attention. Thinking I came to the conclusion that piracy is stealing and stealing, it is a sin that piracy is forbidden, but then when I searched for information on Google, there were different opinions, some said that it is stealing and others that it is not. ASSALAM U ALAIKUM! Before 2 or 3 years when I was very young and didn't know programming and wanted to learn it so I told my Uncle and he pirated me some courses from which I learned and now I am getting real money from my hard work and projects but now I know that piracy is HARAM should I discontinue using the language(C#) and just learn another and spend other 2 - 3 years to get back to where I am now or something... by the way I was 13 or 14 at the time. Now I mostly avoid pirating since I know it's HARAM but can I use my education or not? **EIDT** Not everything I learned is from pirated, it's like a mix of both. Out of all the courses he downloaded I only learnt from 2 and all the rest from youtube, pluralsight etc... even the basics like if you can argue that the basics were from pirated so before C# I learned JAVA which is someone know are very similar so even the basics I learned from JAVA were also carried on to C#. If I have to spend another 2 to 3 years learning other language it's okay, at least I'll know my income for my projects would be HALAL. :) but I just need to be sure before I reinvent the wheel. **EDIT 2** I know that piracy is haram and I've switched to using non pirated courses now but I want to know what is done is forgiven or I should forget all that what I've got from those pirated content

Can we use pirated books available on internet, as these books are owned by someone and are someone's effort so we are accessing it without his/her permission. And these books are very expensive so we can't buy them. What is guidance of Islam on this issue?

I want to download a Video Game, which can be downloaded from some websites, which had a Price Tag of **$60** US Dollars... But it's development stopped and the **publishers made a Good Amount of royalty selling it** and now they are focusing on some new project, so **they have made the money they wanted by Developing that specific Software/Video Game**.. Now, If I Download a pirated copy of that Software/Video Game will it be Haram? Note, the Publisher has the Copyright of that Software/Video Game for a 100 Years! But, I can't stay that long... Now, If I download that software will it be **Haram or Maqruh**???

I have a software blog where I write reviews about software and provide free download link(s). I am using AdSense in that blog for my earnings. I want to know that if I upload or share cracked software link(s) for download, e.g Sharing Adobe Photshop/Illustrator cracked version for free download, is my earnings from this blog Halal or Haram? PS: My question is not a duplicate of 'Using Pirate Software' because I am asking about earning from the blog which provides cracked software link(s) for download.
