A friend of mine have a dog pet. i asked her if it's allowed in islam and she said it's okay as long as we don't touch the saliva. She also means that petting dog is allowed. Is it true? is there any Ayat Al-qur'an to prove this?

My friend who was 13 years old at that time killed 4 kittens and hurt alot of other cats[kicking them ,etc] . I was just wondering what would be the punishment for him and how can he redeem himself . I have asked other friends as well but they have no answer

Assalamou ailekom I would like to know if my prayers are accepted or not if I have a dog in the my house. My brother adopted it without permission from us but we had to keep it since we got emotionally attached to it. I know that angels don't enter the houses of people who keep their dogs in their houses and that's dogs are just permissible if they are guard dogs. We see it as a pet but it can serve as a guard dog too maybe because when guests or strangers are comming to our house the dog goes to window so we know that someone is coming. So I'm a little confused if it's a sin or not in our case to keep the dog. Thank you in advance.

Aoa,I know that we as Muslims can not keep dogs as pets but majority scholars agree that guard dogs are permitted if kept outside the house.My question is that what are the conditions to get a guard dog. Even though my neighbourhood is relatively safe my mother and sister remain home alone for some part of the day so I was considering one. Kindly clarify. JazakAllah

My husband and I have two 6-month old kittens: one male and one female which we keep as indoor pets. I have concerns about the male cat, particularly as my husband and I are about to Insha’Allah have a baby soon: 1. he can be rather aggressive and scratches; 2. he will soon be spraying to mark his territory around the house; 3. it is likely that soon, he will be mature enough to mate and we will have kittens on our hands, which we will be unable to give proper care to. We have considered having him rehomed, but he and his sister are the best of friends, so it would be such a shame to split them up and we know he will be cared for properly with us. Our vet advises that we have him neutered in order to calm him down and prevent points 2 and 3 and advises that we should do so soon whilst he is still young. Is this haram?

Is there a prohibition to take care of dogs in the rule in Islam, because I just to know it is haram if exposed to saliva alone?

We know that it is permissible to kill wild rats and mice. but this question is for **pet** mice, that we got so we would look after them. We bought what we thought were **4 female mice** as pets. we set up a cage for them and kept them well fed. It turns out **one of them was a male**. Now we have so many mice that we cannot keep. Is it permissible to kill them?

Assalamualaikum , Brothers And Sisters. It is said that keeping a pet dog will keep the Angels away and deduct the rewards from the prayers. But I didn't get exact research about keeping any other animal I am really curious about cats. Surely it's said that cats are admired for it's cleanliness and was loved by Prophet Muhammed. But can I keep it as a pet ? Is it allowed ?..... Or will my rewards get deducted for it too?..

I'm asking this this because I heard not all animals are allowed to be kept as pets and I was wondering if I'm allowed to keep an African gray parrot or macaw parrot any color or to have any kind of fish as pet such as: Lionfish,angler fish etc because I saw some people having those kind of fish at home as pets

So Inshallah I will be Getting a Squirrel but I don't know if it is prohibited in Islam should I keep it in a cage or on a bed or nest do I have to keep it complete solitare from it's Family or if I buy it from far away should I still Inshallah get becuase rabbits you can not keep them from there family,or even keep a Squirrel in general.

Under the assumption that keeping a dog itself is *haram*, can Muslims keep pets such as foxes or wolves, which are closely related to dogs but not actually full-breed dogs?

Is neutering a male cat allowed in Islam. I have heard people saying that it will hurt the cat so it is not allowed. Most cats recover quickly, resuming normal activity within three days** - Reference The problem we are facing is that cats do spray urine in house when they are in heat which makes our house **Putrid / Napak**. Another reason we find to neuter our cat is that he makes loud noises (Yowling) which really annoys family members. Our pet is 1 year old and we raised him. We don't want to give him to somebody else as we think giving it to the wrong person may effect his health because pets require constant attention and food. I would also like to mention that the cat is anxious and his behavior has changed a lot, which we think is not good for him as he has started fighting with cats outside the house, he tries to runaway from house because of female cat(he was injured because he jumped off from roof and did't land correctly.) Started spraying urine in house. Hair loss, loss of appetite, etc. That is why we think it will be a good decision to neuter him. Some people say it is right to get your pet neutered because of the following reasons I mentioned above. Some people shared Quranic Verses but that didn't exactly prohibited neutering of pets. Assume that I have dogs and I'm breeding them. They enter my home and my room where I pray. Is that permissible in Islam? And if I don't let them enter my room but let them stay in the rest of the house, is that Halal?

Islam considers cleanliness very important, and keeping some kind of pets can sometimes be a burden in terms of cleanliness. This looks like a contradiction to me. Is there a law about keeping pets? Did Rasulallah (S) keep any pet?
