Cat touching during prayer - can I move him without invalidating salat?

I was taught as a kid to raise my finger when I'm reciting the shahadat and then stopped practicing Islam and now in my thirties trying to start practicing it again and starting to do the 5-daily namaz. However, I am finding that my cat sees the raised finger when I'm on the ground as a perfect time to give my finger a face rub. Based on hadith, I understand his actions (he's a male cat) don't violate the wudu or prayer but can I move him off of my prayer mat while reciting the next part or should I just let him be, ignore him and focus on prayer? Would me reverting to wordly affairs during prayer to remove a worldly distraction while reciting the words and after having made niyat invalidate the prayer?

Is giving catnip to a cat halal?
Is it cruel to give a cat [catnip][1]? Cats go after the herb by themselves, but too much can make them aggressive. Would it be considered halal or haram to give a cat catnip? [1]: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catnip

We had a cat that we introduced to our house when he was 3 weeks old with no mother and a his 2 front paws are a bit defective. We tried to encourage him to go outside from time to time to get used to living outside but he never did. when he was 2 years old he became more aggressive when he smell other outdoor cats or hear them which made him difficult to keep, one day he left home after scratching my nephew on his face after hearing other male cats, and lived outside for 2 months, we kept looking for him everyday, suddenly he came back very thin and thirsty and with injuries on both of his front paws, the doctor said that he cant live outside with his pawns which cant handle rough lands, so he only can live in a safe keep such as homes or shelters, and our country doesn't have shelters for cats. So the only solution is to neutralize him if we want him inside, but we couldn't do it fearing that its haram, what should we do.

Salaam alaikum! **Background:** My whole life is falling apart, long story short I reverted to islam about 4 years ago. About 3 years ago I met my husband, we moved into my husband's auntie's house, however we are being forced to move into downstairs rooms (not sure permenantly) The room is disgusting (mold, cracks on the wall, peeling wallpaper) and freezing cold due to there being patio doors that aren't sealed properly. There is major renovation going on in that house meaning we and our two cats have nowhere to stay. Alhamdulliah that my husband's family are letting us crash at there house but they can't keep our cats as they have a cat breeding business. My non Muslim parents have kept them for 3 days and now are asking us to take them back, nothing can persuade them. No one we know will take them. So now I have to keep them in my house In the kitchen with building work going on. So now everyday I'm going to have to walk 2 miles from my in-laws house to my house, to feed them, play with the and cuddle them. It will be difficult as I'm not mentally too well. **Question:** I am really suffering and I'm in need of Islamic motivation. I'd like to know is there any reward for my efforts in looking after my cats? Perhaps if there was I'd feel better and be more motivated to do it.

Whether cat's hair on our clothes make our prayers unacceptable?
I am a Shia and my mom read somewhere that the hair of an animal whose flesh cannot be eaten, should not be on the clothes used for praying. So, if some cat hair is on our prayer clothes, then is the prayer is not accepted? Can someone please guide on this matter?

My husband and I have two 6-month old kittens: one male and one female which we keep as indoor pets. I have concerns about the male cat, particularly as my husband and I are about to Insha’Allah have a baby soon: 1. he can be rather aggressive and scratches; 2. he will soon be spraying to mark his territory around the house; 3. it is likely that soon, he will be mature enough to mate and we will have kittens on our hands, which we will be unable to give proper care to. We have considered having him rehomed, but he and his sister are the best of friends, so it would be such a shame to split them up and we know he will be cared for properly with us. Our vet advises that we have him neutered in order to calm him down and prevent points 2 and 3 and advises that we should do so soon whilst he is still young. Is this haram?
