Are there 2 Laylatul Qadr or just one?

We all know that Laylatul Qadr is in one of the last 5 odd nights of Ramadan (21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th or 29th). And as Allah SWT explains it's significance in Quran as > The night of Al-Qadr is better than a thousand months [Al-Qadr 97:3] Also Allaw SWT explains that angels decends on this night in the same Surah.
As there are different islamic dates around the globe. For example, if **Saudi Arabia has 20th Ramadan** night today, **in Pakistan we will have 19th night**. So when it will be **21st night in Saudi Arabia**, it will be 20th night in Pakistan. If let's say this year Laylatul Qadr comes on 21st night, we will have 20th night in Pakistan. Now my question is, **will there be 2 laylatul Qadars**. **One on 21st night in Saudi Arabia and one on 21st night in Pakistan (which will be the next night)** or there will be only one and the people in Pakistan will have to look it in the even nights. Will angels come on 2 different nights or just one night? Can anybody please explain? This question is in my mind since childhood and I never got a satisfactory answer.

quran 36:40 "sun cannot catch up the moon" and the commentaries

im confused about this verse and its commentaries ibn kathir said > "Regarding the words, {The sun cannot catch up with the moon}, Mujahid said: Each of them has a limit or orbit that it cannot go beyond, and it cannot fall short of that. When one is dominant, the other disappears, and when the dominant one disappears, the other one dominates. Ikrimah said concerning the Ayah, لاَ الشَّمْسُ يَنبَغِى لَهَآ أَن تدْرِكَ القَمَرَ (It is not for the sun to overtake the moon,) this means that each of them has its time when it prevails. So it is not appropriate for the sun to rise at night. وَلاَ الَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ (nor does the night outstrip the day.) means, after night has passed, it is not right for another night to come until it has been day. The authority of the sun is during the day and the authority of the moon is at night. Ad-Dahhak said, "The night does not depart from here until the day comes from here -- and he pointed to the east.'' Tafsir Ibn Kathir (6/578)/ tafsir ibn kathir on quran 36:40" imam ibn jarir said >It is not appropriate for the sun to catch up with the moon, because that would lead to the light of the sun covering the light of the moon, so it would be day all the time, with no night. {Nor can the night outstrip the day} [Ya-Sin 36:40]. Here Allah, may He be exalted is saying that the night should not overwhelm the day, because that would lead to its darkness cancelling out the light of day, so it would be night all the time. Al-Tabari (19/438). see this in a geocentric perspective where the sun and moon are orbiting the earth how to understand this verse when the moon is visible at day (see the link) the moon doesnt seem to dissapear during the day when the sun is dominant The First Quarter Moon rises in the middle of the day and can be seen in the daytime sky. Half of the side of the Moon facing Earth is illuminated by the Sun. The First Quarter Moon is also seen against a starry night sky until it sets below the western horizon at approximately midnight, leaving the sky very dark. there are multiple pictures of the moon during the day while being close to the sun

Does "nur" in Qur'an 71:16 mean "reflected light" or just "light"?

If its meaning is " reflected light" there is no problem, but if its meaning renders " light" there is a problem because then the above verse will be considered a scientific error. Could you please provide the proper meaning of nur according to authentic references?

in Quran 21:33 and Quran 36:40 are the sun and moons orbits meant from our perspective? (with the rising and setting of them) bc the orbits of the day and night seem to mean from our perspectives so wouldnt the same apply for the sun and moon? i know the sun has its own orbit, but in these verses the way the day and night and sun and moons orbits are mentioned seems relative to each other and it wouldnt make sense that the suns orbit affects the day and night The word being used, falak, فلك, is it referring strictly to a circular motion of the sun and moons orbits? Or can it refer to the way we see the sun and moon rising and setting in a curved way?

However, I think Islamic calendar is based on the day Prophet emigrated. So how can it be Islamic year 573 if miracle happened in his lifetime, Am I missing something?

Bismillah. Alhamdulillahi rabbil-'alamin. Was-Salatu was-Salam 'ala Ashraful Anbiya Sayyidina Muhammad wa 'ala 'Alihi Muhammad. ---------- **What should I do if on the 29 Shaban the sky is cloudy and I cannot see the Crescent of Shahri Ramadan?** Although this issue has been discussed many times, it remains a matter which troubles most people. And according to my research, the most simple and clear instruction is given by the Imams of Ahlul Bayt. In following Hadith Imam Hussayn is teaching us a lesson for a lifetime, > A'bu Abdullah(asws) said: "Count Shaban as twenty-nine days. So if it > was cloudy, so wake up in the morning Fasting, and if it was clear and > you can look, but you cannot see anything (new moon), so wake up in > the morning not Fasting" (so 30 days of the Month of Shaban). > > Source: Al Kafi – V 4 – The Book of Fasts Ch 6 H 9

What if at any 29th day of the month, the weather is always bad, so you can't observe anything, so that you always need to add a 30th day to the month And what if at the contrary, you can always observe the moon at the 29th day and all your months are only 29 days I think the second case can not be possible as the moon doesn't do a cycle every 29 day but 29,5 days, so you should be able to keep a good pace with the observation But in the first case, their calendar will be late, their year will last longer So is there any other system (than observing at the 29th day) to correct a bad weather in order to correct the calendar, to synchronize a way or another? It's already difficult some months where all countries have difficulties not to be synchronized (in the same country people fight each-other to know when begin ramadhan), but over a year, it's impossible (12 day difference per year maximum, so a completely different calendar depending on the country)

Verse 1 of Surah Al-Qamar very clearly references the story of the moon being split. Mostly I hear the explanation that includes our prophet (PBUH) and the Quraish witnesses. However, I am also convinced that a splitting of the moon is scientifically impossible. Is it possible that this verse has a deeper meaning? Is it perhaps written to illustrate that even a miracle of such scale would not convince a person who is a disbeliever at heart? Or perhaps the word splitting would not necessarily mean a very large part of the moon was split from it, or that both parts of the moon weren't joined back together after the miracle? I ask this question because I am a recent convert, but was raised as a sceptical atheist who still has a strong desire to see logic and faith joined together!

In all the history of Islam, where is the moon represented with upwards points? When we see the clock above the tomb of Mohammad, we think: *It looks like the horns of a bull!* We do not understand why there are horns on top of the clock. Muslims do not like the Saud tower clock, because Mohammad and Moses both said: Do not worship the cow. The moon is holy in Islam, and all islamic flags have an upright moon, never looking like horns. Did the Saudi architects make a mistake to put the moon sideways? Is it an unholy sign, to put horns on top of a minaret? Was there condemnation from Imams?
