In an interfaith marriage, would the non-Muslim partner be prohibited from celebrating e.g. Easter, Christmas?
As Muslims we do not celebrate holidays like Easter or Christmas. Where does Islam stand on this?

We had this event where they learnt halloween vocabulary and they gave me the task to take pictures of the event. Does that mean that I’m supporting it? I know that halloween is like a shirk holiday, but I’m not sure if what I did is shirk as well. Also I was aware of the fact that it’s most likely sinful but I still took the pictures and sent them to my teacher.

Would this still be considered a sin?

Although the role and importance of Jesus may be seen very differently, Islam does recognize the existence of Jesus of Nazareth and even give him some critical acclaim as a prophet. However, do they celebrate his birth in any way such as Christians do at Christmas? If so, in what way do they celebrate?
This question may seem basic, but we have:
> لا نفرق بین احد من رسله
So if we accept all prophets then why shouldn't we celebrate their birthdays?

Of course Christmas has nothing to do with Christianity, but what about Hanukkah for the Jews?
We Muslims celebrate Passover like the Jews do, so does that mean Allah has also given the Jews a holiday to celebrate that is Hanukkah and acceptable in His eyes for them to do?

Since converting to Islam I've always attended my (atheist) family's Christmas celebrations (though they are *not* celebrated in a religious way).
My parents expect me to give gifts to my family, and I know how important this gift giving is to them, and how highly regarded parents are to a Muslim.
I found a hadith (emailed to me by a friend) that seems to support my logic:
>Narrated ‘Aisha:
>
>Allah’s Apostles used to accept gifts and used to give something in return.
>
>(Bukhari, Volume 3, Book 47, Number 758).
Is it Halal to reciprocate with gifts in this fashion, though it is haram to celebrate a religious holiday not form Islam?

Does our acceptance of these 'holy days' give legitimacy to beliefs which, as Muslims we know to be clearly false?
Or should we once again put our feelings to one side in order to maintain harmony (with neighbors who don't afford the same respect towards us)?
