What is the role of male circumcision in Islam?
I’m wondering what forms of Islam practice this, and in what regions it is most prevalent. I’m also wondering what its understood significance/ purpose is, as well as how it is practised: what age should the subject be, do they have a say in the matter, allowed/typically given anaesthesia, etc.?

What does Islam say about female circumcision? To make it more clear: Female circumcision is a painful violence against female bodies because it completely annihilates sexual satisfaction and victims will never experience orgasm after this traditional surgery. Motivation: To find a religious solution to stop it in some Muslim countries. In these countries usually there is no way to stop a wrong traditional practice except you find it is against Islamic rules! Edit by Sakib Arifin: The claim in the question that "Female circumcision is a painful violence against female bodies because it completely annihilates sexual satisfaction" is not supported by genuine scientific data. There are different levels of FGM which have different effects on females sexuality. Read more about this on Skeptics.SE .

Assalamu Alaikum, I want to get my foreskin back and revert circumcision, I know it is a sunnah but it is not mandatory in Islam, and in todays world it is easy to access hygiene, so it was nonsense that it was cut off me. I have been praying for nearly one month but still no results. I don't want to rush it but I feel like my prayers are not being answered but I started doing salahs also, I know Allah is hearing me and I promised him to clean it properly and not using it for haram things. (Please note that so called "foreskin restoration" only causes more harm and does not help in anyways getting the real foreskin) It might sound impossible but nothing is impossible for Allah Is there any Duas that can help me in this specific thing or any Duas to speed up acceptance?

Why are muslims circumcised when Allah created him in that way?
Allah knows the best. He created human beings as the best creation. **Question:** If He wanted human to be circumcised then why didn't He make the human circumcised automatically in birth? Aren't we hurting Him by deforming His best creation?

Do Shi'a Muslims practice circumcision in adherance to the Covenant of Abraham?
Biblically, circumcision is a sign of the [Abrahamic Covenant](http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis+17&version=KJV) between God and Abraham, and was incumbent on him and each of his (male) descendents lest they be "[cut off from his people.](http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search...

However, it would be harder to extend this same to non-Arab muslims who are not descended from the Abrahamic line (either by blood or by adoption). To my understanding, circumcision is also considered mandatory in Shi'a Islam: Is there any evidence that this is directly due to the Covenant of Abraham, and if so, does it (the Covenant) apply to even those Muslims not of Abrahamic descent?
