I am a widow, I lost my husband 2 months ago, he was suffering from cancer. We have twin 7 year old boys. I love my husband and he loved me very much and I was his only one wife in his life. He was a good Muslim and he helped me how to be a good wife and good Muslimah. I am a young mother and widow, I don’t have anything except my boys and USA citizenship. I live in New York. I have to go long way to educate my 7 year old boys, I will do everything for them, I don't have any helping hand here except Allah and it is enough for me. I love my husband and everyday I am trying to be a good widow and good Muslimah. It is hard as a single young mother, but I am doing better everyday. **Question:** Is it possible for a good widow, if both of us go to paradise, to have my husband only for me? Because I don't want my husband being shared with other paradise wives or houri (I heard every man will have 2 wives in paradise.) Please answer me.

I mean won’t it be some kind of shirk or haram to call my wife as a beautiful female creature from Jannah to make a compliment

*It was narrated from Mu'adh bin Jabal that: the Messenger of Allah said: "No woman annoys her husband but his wife among houris (of Paradise) safs: 'Do not annoy him, may Allah destroy you, for he is just a temporary guest with you and soon he will leave you and join us."'* Does this mean that the our husbands in this life won’t be with us in Jannah, and instead with the houris, who are superior to women in this dunya?

It is widely believed that houris are female divine creatures who will be married with men in the Heaven.
Where exactly we know that they are female?
Can there be male houris for women and female houris for men?
Can "the virgin houri" also means man who never had sex before?
Also how do we know that they are not human? Answers based on Quran first, then Hadith will be appreciated.

Salam, I have heard many times through many people that if one does follow all the necessary Islamic laws and happens to be placed in Jannat(heaven), then the man ***will receive hoor(Houri)*** (very beautiful human like creatures - angels) ***to serve him in Jannat***. Is it true? Please answer with references. If it is true, then ***what will women receive*** if they happen to be placed in Jannat?

We all know that when Muslims who die while believing in Islam and go to heaven will be rewarded many things from Allah, one of these things is exclusively for men which is [(Alhour Alein)](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houri) or the "Fair women": >كَذَلِكَ وَزَوَّجْنَاهُم بِحُورٍ عِين > > Thus. And We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes. > > [Quran 44:54] Allah is Fair, but all rewards are for both men and women except for this, which appears to be exclusively for Muslim men. Presumably, Muslim women would receive their own equivalent reward; is there any indication in the Qur'an or the Sunnah of what this reward would be? **UPDATE:** Some said that in Arabic when directing words to both men and women then the Male form of the words is used. That is 100% correct. But when using the feminine form then it is for sure describing Females and not Males. Allah used Feminine form when talking about AL-hour in Quran: >(كَأَنَّهُنَّ بَيْضٌ مَّكْنُونٌ) [Alsaffat: 49] > > (إِنَّا أَنشَأْنَاهُنَّ إِنشَاء* فَجَعَلْنَاهُنَّ أَبْكَارًا* عُرُبًا أَتْرَابًا) [Alwaqi'ah: 35-37] > > (فِيهِنَّ قَاصِرَاتُ الطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ* فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ* كَأَنَّهُنَّ الْيَاقُوتُ وَالْمَرْجَانُ) [Alrahman: 56-58] > > (فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَاتٌ حِسَانٌ* فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُـمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ* حُورٌ مَّقْصُورَاتٌ فِي الْخِيَامِ* فَبِأَيِّ آلَاء رَبِّكُـمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ* لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَانٌّ) [Alrahman: 70-74] All the above Ayas (verses) are about Alhour Alein and in all of them Allah used the Feminine form in Arabic to describe them which only means one thing, Alhour Alein are Females. *P.S. I cannot translate the above Ayas accurately to English because there is not feminine form of grammar in English.*

I found this [article](http://www.dawn.com/news/635343/are-all-houris-female) after looking up the meaning of the word [houri](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houri) that I find untranslated in my copy of the Quran. It seems to be a well argued point with plenty of references to the Quran, but it has not appear to have been compiled by a scholar or sheikh. Is this article correct in saying that not all houris are female?
