If I offered isha prayer and then qayam (taraweeh) behind the imam, but didn't do the witr (though still sat in the masjid), because I want to offer tahajjud at home later, will I still get the reward of the qayam for the entire night? I am confused because I have heard of two hadiths. One according to which, if one offers isha and entire qayam behind imam in congregation, one gets the reward of the whole night's qayam (even if they offer fajr at home - I am a woman). And another hadith according to which, if one offers isha in congregation and fajr in congregation, one gets the reward of praying all night. **So which one is it?** It's important for me because (a) I am a woman (b) The security situation is not that great where I live (c) the masjid is far. A quick, clear answer based on authentic hadiths/ quran is highly sought and appreciated, as I have to decide whether I should go to offer fajr in congregation or not?

salam i've read hadiths which are different to the way i usually pray witr. i have tried to find answers to my question but i haven't been able too. say i'm praying 3 rakah witr. one after the other without sitting in the 2nd. **in the 3rd rakah after ruku i do dua. do i go back into ruku, stand, sujood and finish the salah or straight into sujood after the dua and finish? please help** jazakallah

As sallamuallay kum, i wanna ask that i have read a hadith which says who ever pray taraweeh behind the imam with complete witra. It is as if he prayed all night. But i wanna know that i pray taraweeh behind the imam and don't pray witra and come back home read quran and watch some islamic lectures and at night about 3-4am just before 30min in suhoor i pray 4 rakkat and 3 rakah witar as i have heard that we should complete our daily prayers with witra as the last. So do i get the same reward as praying taraweeh and witra behind imam ???

The way I pray wit'r prayer has come to my knowledge to be wrong as I pray it exactly like the fard prayer of Maghrib (which the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) has told us not to do). So I have looked up the internet and found two ways of doing it correctly. But I do not know which one is the best and most accurate way. **What manner should the Wit'r prayer be prayed in:** 2 Rak'ah - (Tasleem) - 1 Rak'ah or 2 Rak'ah - (without sitting + no tasleem) - 1 Rak'ah? *Jazak Allahu Khayran.*

Do you have to end Taraweeh prayer by praying Witr? Is witr obligatory? How do you pray only one raka (unit) of Witr? I tried to find out how to pray one raka but I didn't find any information online. So you say the opening supplication and then recite surah al fatiha and then another surah. Then say allahu akbar while raising hand then place right hand over left hand on the chest then recite the Qunoot duaa? After that say allahu akbar and then go to rukku and finish the prayer normally?

I recently started reading Qayim but not sure if they r counted as witr or nafl? What intention should one do before praying and should it be broken down in pair of 4 or 2-2-1 like witr

Assalamualaikum Brothers and Sisters, As an IGCSE Student at this time of the pandemic, I've been flooded with assignments from left to right, and have class at 10 am. I stay up late to read the Qur'an and pray, but I'm afraid that sometimes it may be too late for me to fall asleep and still be able to wake up in time for class. With this being mentioned, if I still want to offer my prayers, would I be allowed to offer just my Witr instead of both the Taraweeh and Witr? JazakAllah Khair.

I never prayed Tahajjud before. Now I have found out about its importance and reward. But I am having some misunderstanding regarding how to pray it. Let me explain with real example. I was praying like this (When I didn't pray Tahajjud): **Isha** (for example at 18:30) - 4 rakats Fard - 2 rakats Sunnah - 3 rakats Witr **Fajr** (for example at 6:40) - 2 rakats Sunnah - 2 rakats Fard ------------------------------------------------- And Yestersay I prayed like this: **Isha** (18:30) - 4 rakats Fard - 2 rakats Sunnah - 3 rakats Witr **Tahajjud** (at 2:00) - 20 rakats **Fajr** (at 6:40) - 2 rakats Sunnah - 2 rakats Fard ------------------------------------------------- **But** Today I read that after Tahajjud I must pray **Witr**. Which Witr is referred here is confusing me. The one I was praying in Isha or **is it a separate Witr**? **For Allah's sake, can anyone help me to understand how to pray Tahajjud and what kind of Witr I must pray in the end?** **Additionally, the sources about Tahajjud are saying that Quran must be recited as well, as much as possible. Please, tell me where I must read Quran?**

Which one is the ‘Qunut’ prayed in ‘Witr’? Recently I was checking Witr prayer time for Maliki fiqh. Most of what I found what that how it should be prayed at Fajar time. After Subh. I was wondering, is it standard to pray it after subh? Is it qada after subh? Note that there is no indication in what I have read that it will be qada after subh. It reads like that is the standard way to pray it. Am I getting it right? So when is the prayer time of Witr in Malik fiqh. Note that I am mainly interested in the position held by Maliki fiqh.

I heard somewhere that witr is not Obligatory. It is a part of Qayam ul Layl. Is this true?

Is it permissible to pray 20 rakaàth of tharaweeh after ishah salah and 5 or 7 rakàth of witr in the last part of night?

A few years ago i have been told that it is recommended to recite after the fatiha in shaf'a and witr or 3 rak'a witr prayer the following surahs: - 1st raka'a of shaf'a: surah al-A'la (87 ). - 2nd raka'a of shaf'a: surah al-Kafiroon (109 ). - In the only rak'a of witr: surah al-Ikhlass (112 ), then al-Falaq (113 ) followed by an-Nass (114 ). Lately i checked sunnah.com about a reference for that but couldn't find any while i found hadith like this one in Jami' at-Tirmidhi or sunan an-Nasaai , where surah al-Falaq and an-Nass ar not quoted at all. Even on fatwa sites I couldn't find a backup or recommendation like this. This is why I'd like to know how this deviation from the sunnah can be explained and what is the source or what madhab/sect is following or recommending the practice described above?

Assalamu alaikum, I'm confused about the fact of witr and tahajjud prayer, as said witr is to lock up a day's prayers, should I perform it affter tahajjud prayer? Salam All, I want to know what authentic way to perform witr is. Hanafi School of thought sit after two rakahs and then in third rakah they perform rafaydan and make dua. But some raises hand after ruku in witr. Please give authentic hadith as references to your answers. JazakAllah
