Mosque in jerusalem
In the hadith of isra Miraj ""They continued travelling until they reached the valley that is in the city — that is: the Hallowed House (Jerusalem) — when lo and behold! the Gehenna was shown to them like a carpet unfolded. In the hadith of isra Miraj ""They continued travelling until they reached the valley that is in the city — that is: the Hallowed House (Jerusalem) — when lo and behold! the Gehenna was shown to them like a carpet unfolded. They (the Companions) said: “O Messenger of Allah, how was it?” He replied: “Like cinders.” He continued travelling until he reached the city of the Hallowed House and he entered it by its Southern gate. He dismounted the Buraq and tied it at the gate of the mosque, using the ring by which the Prophets tied it before him. One narration states that Jibril came to the Rock and placed his fingers in it, piercing it, then he tied the Buraq using the spot he had hollowed out. The Prophet entered the mosque from a gate through which the sun and the moon could be seen when they set. He prayed two cycles of prayer and did not tarry long before a large throng of people had gathered."" This is the description of the mosque in jerusalem and given in the hadith. But historically we know that the temple had been destroyed in the first century and wasnt rebuilt till the 7th/8th century. How do we explain the details mentioned about the mosque by hadith, if the mosque itself was in ruins at the time of the miraaj?

Did Imam Ali (R.A.) reach the skies before the Prophet did, according to the Shi'a?
I have heard from a Shi'a friend that when the Prophet ascended to the skies to meet Allah at the night of Esraa and Miraj, Imam Ali (R.A.) was already there and was presented to the Prophet by God. Is this true?

Did the Prophet (SAW) not see Allah during the night of ascension?
I ask this question due to this Hadith from Sahih Musllim: It is narrated on the authority of Masruq that he said: > I was resting at (the house of) 'A'isha that she said: O Abu 'A'isha > (kunya of Masruq), there are three things, and he who affirmed even > one of them fabricated the greatest lie ag...
I ask this question due to this Hadith from Sahih Musllim: It is narrated on the authority of Masruq that he said: > I was resting at (the house of) 'A'isha that she said:

O Abu 'A'isha > (kunya of Masruq), there are three things, and he who affirmed even > one of them fabricated the greatest lie against Allah.

I asked that > they were.

She said: **He who presumed that Muhammad (ﷺ) saw his Lord > (with his ocular vision) fabricated the greatest lie against Allah.**

I > was reclining but then sat up and said:
Mother of the Faithful, wait a > bit and do not be in a haste. Has not Allah (Mighty and Majestic) > said:" And truly he saw him on the clear horizon" (Al-Qur'an, Surat > at-Takwir, 81:23 ) and" he saw Him in another descent" (Al-Qur'an, > Surat Najm 53:13 )?

She said: I am the first of this Ummah who asked > the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about it, and he said:
Verily he is > Gabriel. I have never seen him in his original form in which he was > created except on those two occasions (to which these verses refer); I > saw him descending from the heaven and filling (the space) from the > sky to the earth with the greatness of his bodily structure.

She said: > Have you not heard Allah saying:
"Eyes comprehend Him not, but He > comprehends (all) vision. and He is Subtle, and All-Aware" (Al-Qur'an, > Surat al-An`am 6:103 )?

(She, i.e. 'A'isha, further said):
Have you not > heard that, verily, Allah says:
"And it is not for any human being > that Allah should speak to him except by revelation or from behind a > partition or that He sends a messenger to reveal, by His permission, > what He wills. Indeed, He is Most High and Wise." (Al-Qur'an, Surat > ash-Shura, 42:51 )

She said: He who presumes that the Messenger of > Allah (ﷺ) concealed anything from the Book of Allah fabricates the > greatest lie against Allah.

Allah says: "O Messenger, announce that > which has been revealed to you from your Lord, and if you do not, then > you have not conveyed His message. And Allah will protect you from the > people. Indeed, Allah does not guide the disbelieving people." > (Al-Qur'an, Surat al-Ma'idah, 5:67 ).

She said: He who presumes that he > would inform about what was going to happen tomorrow fabricates the > greatest lie against Allah.

And Allah says "Say, 'None in the heavens > and earth knows the unseen except Allah , and they do not perceive > when they will be resurrected.'" (Al-Qur'an, Surat an-Naml, 27:65 ). > > Sahih Muslim - Book 1, Hadith 346

Where are the Prophet's parents now?
When Prophet Muhammad (saw) went to see heaven and hell on the night of Miraj his parents were taken out of hellfire and put in heaven. Which part of heaven was it? Was it one of the seven levels or somewhere totally different?

There are two school of thought on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) visit to the Heavens (sky) and meet God. One school says 1. This happened in real (this is more authentic). 2. This was shown to the prophet in a dream only My question is now that we know Earth is round, there are no 7 skies, there is no air above certain altitude where you can breath, you cannot survive without space suite and oxygen and you cannot survive at -273C temperature and there were no witnesses. + Prophet Muhammad never said anything that would have proved the visit otherwise. For example he never pointed that the earth was round, he never said anything about the stars, the moon. This would mean, in plain scientific terms, this was just an imagination and nothing close to reality. Muslims often explain things in Quran logically and scientifically. If I go by logic, this event by all means says it is false. But it is an important event. That is when 5 prayers/day were imposed. How can I convince myself that this happened in real, while all the odds are against it. Did it happen in real?

He replied, "O the Messenger of Allah, they are from your Ummah [community, nation]." I asked again, "What is their guilt?" He answered, "They are those who accumulated wealth without differentiating between lawful and unlawful means and who did not think whether the money they earned was lawful or unlawful. The unlawful substances they consumed turned to this state in their bodies." This hadith can be found on My Religion Islam . Is this a sahih hadith?

In Shia Islam there is this belief that there *has* to be one hojjat of Allah on Earth. He could be described as the > decisive argument of Allah over mankind Further description found in the question https://islam.stackexchange.com/q/12487 The way it is described, it seems that this presences is ensured by Allah Himself. There is also this belief that Mohammad(saww) went on a maraaj in which he went to the skies, beyond the point which Gabriel(as) couldn't go and had words with Allah. Now, since Mohammad(saww) was than Allah's hojjat on Earth, so when he went to maraaj who was Allah hojjat on Earth? I don't find the presence the Ali(as) on Earth as a sound explanation because he at that time was not the Imam, the hojjat (maybe that's incorrect) because Mohammad was still alive. It's is said that when Mohammad(saww) got back from maraaj things were in the exact same position and condition the way they were when he left (the door chain still swings, the warmth on bed or door knob (not sure)). Which, scientifically speaking, could mean that he went and came back in zero time and therefore no time passed when there wasn't a hojjat present on Earth. Is that a possible and a valid explanation?
