Is the amount of blood money for a male child higher than an adult female?
I know that the blood money for women in Islam is considered half of a man, but does this apply for children to? If so, does this mean that a woman's blood money is less than a male child?

Who is entitled to diyya in case of parents killing their child?
As far as I'm aware, at least some schools of law (in particular, the Shafiis) say that qisas does not apply in the case of a parent killing his/her child, and only diyya applies. I can't seem to find any sources outlining who is entitled to receive diyya in this case? I don't know how to determine...

I can't seem to find any sources outlining who is entitled to receive diyya in this case? I don't know how to determine the recipient of diyya/the people having the right to waive qisas in murder cases in general, but this particular constellation is probably different from other constellations.

I have a question which I shall be highly thankful if you can please answer it.
A few months ago, I along with my Wife and Daughter were going on a Motor Bike. While taking a Uturn on Road, a Motor Bike hit us. I sustained injuries and so did my Wife and daughter and the other person who hit us. However, my wife could not survive injuries and died.
Now about accident, as per the witnesses on the road the other guy was at a high speed on a link road and he because of the speed he could not handle his bike when we came in front of him. As for me, I did look at the road while taking Uturn and could not see anything as long as my eyes could see. However, my mistake was that I did not properly stopped on Uturn and I believe I could have averted the accident if I had stopped the bike and see the road entirely till end. So I believe that may be I was also at fault, I could have averted this accident by being more careful.
Now my question is that do I have to pay the Diyyat for my wife's death and if yes then to whom as it is to be paid to heirs? Who would be her heir besides me? Also if I need to offer expiation as well? My wife died because of the mistakes by the Biker and possibly me as well.
Please answer and oblige.

How is Qisas done when equal retaliation is not possible?
For example, suppose that a tooth-less person breaks the teeth of another, or an eye-less person pokes out another's eye, or a woman cuts off a man's penis, or a man cuts off a woman's breasts etc. Like-for-like retaliation is not possible, so what happens if the victim demands Qisas? My guess is that substitutions are defined or the victim has to settle for monetary compensation only.

Why is the blood money of a woman half that of a man in Islam?

There is no strict verse in the Qur'an which clearly shows us that the blood money of a women is half that of a man. However, narrations both in Shi'ite and Sunni traditions exist regarding this case. For instance, Imam Sadiq(a.s) says that,
> دیة المرأة نصف دیة الرجل>

> (وسائل الشیعه، ج 19، ص 151. نشر دارلاحیا التراث العربی، بیروت، بی تا.)
Another Sunni narration says that woman's blood money is half of man's:
> (کنز العمال، ج 15، ص 57. نشر دارالاحیا التراث العربی، بیروت، بی تا .)
Now my question is, why the woman's blood money is such? in other words what is the reasoning behind this judgment?

There've been a couple of tweets about "blood money" and Indonesia, to do with impending executions by the Indonesian government of two members of the Bali Nine :
From Father Bob
> Allowance is made/encouraged in the Quran to substitute "blood money"

From Fiona Patten

Is "Blood Money" a religious practice, or is it a cultural practice? Also, is it applicable in parts of Indonesia outside of Aceh, or only applicable in middle eastern countries like Saudi Arabia?
