In which verse, if any, does an NT writer (Paul?) refer to boasting of Christ's death?
I seem to remember a passage in which a New Testament writer (the Apostle Paul, if I remember correctly) referred positively to boasting of Christ's death. I seem to remember a passage in which a New Testament writer (the Apostle Paul, if I remember correctly) referred positively to boasting of Christ's death. It is a similar idea to the lines "Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast, / Save in the death of Christ my God!" from the hymn "When I Survey the Wondrous Cross," but I think there was a Biblical passage about this. Does this passage exist, and if so, where is it? I tried searching for "boast" in the King James Version, but the verse I was looking for was not in the search results. (As Andrew Shanks pointed out in a comment, the verse is Galatians 6:14; I did not find it because it uses "glory" rather than "boast" in the KJV).

Where is the verse about people sinning because they know God will forgive them?

I've been trying to find a verse I read not too long ago for quite some time about sinning and knowing it's wrong, but sinning anyway because you know God will forgive you. I believe it also mentioned how people who do this are even lower than people who sin, then repent and attempt to stop doing it. I know that verse-identification has had a lot of discussion on the meta as to whether it should be allowed, and it seems most people would only allow it under very strict circumstances. That said, I do agree with this opinion, but I also believe that this question meets those circumstances, so I will take the risk. I have been trying to find this verse for quite some time, and I can't find it. I've searched Google, I've looked it up on quite a few websites, I've even asked other people if they had seen the verse. It's almost like it didn't exist, but I'm 100% certain that I saw it, but I can't find it. Point is, I've searched all over the place to no avail, and I feel that this is the last place I can possibly turn. If anyone has seen this verse I would very much appreciate it, but if you haven't seen this particular verse, I would rather you not answer with a verse that has a similar subject, but is different. Thanks. --- **Update:** I just asked a particular person who I hadn't asked before and they said they knew the verse I was talking about, but wasn't sure where it was. They hunted around for a while looking for it and found a few similar verses, but not the correct one. To make things easier, I will name a few verses it isn't, but it would be nigh impossible to track down every similar verse I've seen that isn't the one. *I'll also include passages that have been put in answers that aren't it.* **Many of the verses I have seen that aren't it are as follows:** - Romans 6:15 - Luke 13:3 - 1 John 5:18 - Hebrews 10:26-31 - 2 Peter 2:20-21 There are other verses I have seen, but these verses were the closest ones I found.

What is the Cause, or why do people misquote Bible verses like 1 Timothy 6:10?
It strikes me recently just how many people will say that "Money is the root of all evil." when the actual Bible verse is... "A love of money is the root of all evil." I wonder why people say that and what is the ***cause*** of this most often misquoting of this Bible verse. Not only do people "misq...
It strikes me recently just how many people will say that "Money is the root of all evil." when the actual Bible verse is... "A love of money is the root of all evil." I wonder why people say that and what is the ***cause*** of this most often misquoting of this Bible verse. Not only do people "misquote" Bible verses, but often attribute sayings to the Bible that were never there, but found in only cultural folklore or perhaps used in some sermon or hymn of Christianity. Why is there this tendency? What is the ***discernable cause*** for such a tendency?

I wonder if there are any records of this event being pointed out in the Old or New Testaments. For example, while there are a few verses in the Qur'an that overlap with the 1556 Shensi earthquake, I can interpret the Alasehir earthquake within the scope of the destruction of the clans. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ala%C5%9Fehir

Not sure if this was Jerimiah or another prophet (or I may be making it up entirely). The king was preparing to fight the invasion, and was delivered a message from the lord not to fight with arms. The king responds with something emotional along the lines of you would have the city/nation destroyed. To be clear, it was not Jeremiah 38:4 > Then the officials said to the king, “This man ought to die, for he is discouraging the warriors who remain in this city, as well as all the people, by speaking such words to them; this man is not seeking the well-being of these people, but their ruin. Probably no anything from Isaiah either.

I'm looking for a story in the Bible where Jesus put a sinner's faith to the test. I originally heard this story during a Church sermon. It was nearly 4 years ago, and and I'm having trouble figuring out which book this verse could belong in. I'm not sure, but it begins with a person asking Jesus for his forgiveness... I think She was a Gentile. Jesus Christ rejected that. The lady claimed that she still believes that Jesus will still forgive Her mistakes, because of Jesus' love for the sinners. In the end, Jesus revealed that He was just testing Her. He then said that **because of her faith, she was forgiven**. I kept looking for that story in many places, yet it still yields similar results. Have you ever heard this story or something similar? Do you think this story exist?

Looking at an online concordance, I found plenty of references where God **commanded** a census be taken, mostly for compiling a list of military age males (who could then be called upon to form an army). But none forbidding a census.
