According to the Internet Archive [*See here*](https://archive.org/details/AdviceToParents/mode/2up) , which offers a modern version of a booklet entitled "Advice to Parents" by St. Alphonsus Liguori:
> This exceptional booklet was created from a sermon given by the great Saint Alphonsus Liguori, founder of the Redemptorist Order, Bishop, and Doctor of the Church. In it he expounds on the privilege and responsibilities of parenthood as a special vocation from God. He backs up his statements with quotes from Scripture.. Saint Alphonsus Liguori makes two specific points in his text. In the first, how important it is to bring up children in habits of virtue; and, second, the care and diligence a parent should extend to bring their children up well.
QUESTION: Does anyone know the whereabouts of the aforementioned sermon on which this booklet is based? And/or, can anyone point me to an older version of the said booklet?
Thank you.

The following question has been motivated by the post https://christianity.stackexchange.com/questions/94736/what-teachings-do-all-catholic-schools-share
I recall having read something many years ago specifying that parents have the responsibility to provide their children with a Catholic education (i.e., enroll them in a Catholic school for years ago, home school was not legally an option); and, if for some reason they were not able to, and were intending to send them to a public school, a special dispensation needed to be obtained from their bishop.
As far as I can recollect, the above is the gist of what I read; though, I have often tried to find this again in writing and have been unable to.
Question: **Does anyone know if such a promulgation has ever been made? Since it refers to *all* Catholic parents, I imagine that what I had read was referring to something included in a papal decree.**

What have old Christian writers opined about a couple living with in-laws during marriage?

I understand a question has been asked and was closed on this topic previously, but I wanted to more specifically ask about Christian writings on it, preferably early ones.
Often people today use Genesis 2:24 to teach the 'leave and cleave' doctrine that a married couple should not live in the same residence as one of the in-law parents. Is this an historical interpretation of the passage? Has anyone in the church viewed the topic differently, or similarly? I.e, are there any old Christian writers who have suggested that it is acceptable for a married couple to live with parents?

Is there a commandment to love your parents?

I have often heard that we are commanded to love our parents: is this just folk-religion? Is there a Biblical commandment to love your parents? Is this just loving your parents as part of loving your neighbour (e.g. Mark 12:31)? Or is there a specific commandment?

This question regards the reformed doctrine of predestination.
Predestination states that God, even before the child has been born, decides whether the child is saved.
Is there any biblical evidence as to whether this decision is dependent upon the actions of the parent? [I.e. God chooses to give zealous parents a saved child; and parents that he doesn't like very much an unsaved child]?

How do protestant youth group ministers reach apathetic parents of religious education students?

I'm Catholic, but I'd like to know what Protestants do to get the parents of their students more involved in their children's religious education. Mostly, how do you overcome barriers when your student's parents don't attend services or come to many church events.
