Is there a Muslim pride flag and if not, why not?
Disadvantaged groups often have a pride flag. For example, here's the autism pride flag ([Wikipedia][1]): [![By Chasduncan - Own work, CC BY-SA 4.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=56019782][2]][2] And here's the [asexual][3] pride flag: [![By Britrek87 (Own work) [Public domain], vi...

In non-Muslim-majority countries in particular, Muslims may be disadvantaged. Thus, I'm wondering if there's a Muslim pride flag. **Question**: Is there a Muslim pride flag and if not, why not? I've never actually seen one and Google Images doesn't return one, so I'm guessing there isn't one. But I doubt I'm the first person to think "ah, I should express Muslims pride in the form of a flag".

What does the circular (sometimes crescent-like) symbol on top of Islamic Minarets and Domes represent?

Symbol This circular figure appears on the top of the minarets and domes of a great number of Islamic worship places around the world (even as far back as the middle ages—the first image is from the Book of Wonders / Kitab al-Bulhan). What does it represent? A common theory is that it's a stylized crescent; but many Muslims say the crescent is not intrinsically a symbol of Islam. I've seen someone call it "the horns of Dhul Qarnayn"; which sounds too far-fetched, as Dhul Qarnayn isn't that much of a major figure in Islam. So, what are the most common explanations in Muslim literature/historiography for this symbol?

Is [star and crescent](http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_and_crescent) a symbol of Islam? Is it a tradition or is it mentioned in the Qur'an?

Does Islam have a flag?
There are many narrations where the Allah's Apostle (salallahu alayhi wassalam) mentions "flag" like the following one: > Narrated Anas: > > The Prophet had informed the people of the martyrdom of Zaid, Ja'far > and Ibn Rawaha before the news of their death reached. The Prophet > said, "Zaid took the flag (as the commander of the army) and was > martyred, then Ja`far took it and was martyred, and then Ibn Rawaha > took it and was martyred." At that time the Prophet's eyes were > shedding tears. He added, "Then **the flag** was taken by a Sword > amongst the Swords of Allah (i.e. Khalid) and Allah made them (i.e. > the Muslims) victorious." **Sahih Al-Bukhari Book 64, Hadith 4307** Wiki says "An Islamic flag is a flag that complies with Islamic rules." My question is "Does Islam have a flag?" and "What are the rules for the flag?" Answers with scholarly opinion based on Qur'an and Hadith preferred.

Is it rude to wear a star and crescent if you're not muslim?

Anyway, it's a crescent moon with a star inside of it, just like the symbol. Is it rude to wear this if I'm not Muslim? Is it sort of like how people wear crosses when they aren't Christian? Someone please inform me of this, I don't want to offend anyone when in public.

This is more for my knowledge and for others. I know that if a person who is of the book has had tattoo's but they later regret and repent, then that is ok and as long as they do not continue down that path again. What if there is a person who has a tattoo on their back but it is of a cross (to their faith)? We know that worshipping idols and such is haram and a sin but if it is a symbol of their faith then what is the ruling? Of course we know that it is better to be with a Muslim of the same faith for many reasons but this is more of a general question more than anything and to see if it is permissible for a Muslim to be married to such a person. Thank you

Why is Green always associated with Islam?
It seems like most Muslim countries have green in their flags (indeed, Qaddahfi's Libyan flag was just green!). This color seems to be associated with politically with most Islamic states, but I'm wondering why. Is there a source to the tradition? Is it in the texts? Or, is it just a coincidence?
