Can we make our daily activities as a meditation practise ? I'm not asking about being aware on what we are doing. When we do samatha meditation, we focused on the breath only. I'm asking, When we do day to day activities, focusing only what we supposed to do. This practise will give good materialstic achivements for sure. But, is this help to be enilightened ? Did Lord Buddha advice us to do something like this ? I lost interest to do day to day things. Because, the results gives from those are impermanant, useless in the long run (samsara). I'm looking for a way that help me to maintain the life while help me to be enlightened. **Edit:** We all have a certain level of focus when we do something. Is building a intense focus on something (materialstic things) a good practise ? Will it help me learn dhamma ?

(Like wanting to gain more in short amount of time) **Edit:** I mean by "doing one thing at a time" is working on 2 different subjects at the same time(Without finishing the first work) . Ex: practising samatha and vipassana together, learning maths and arts at the same time. **Edit:** Example for "not doing one thing at a time" : Started to write a book yesterday. Whithout finishing it, starting to write an another book today.

I only find pleasure in working on my goals and achieving something every day. Female bodies don't seem much attractive anymore but out of habit I masterbate after every 3 days just for the sake of it. I don't even get an orgasm after ejaculation. It is bland. Boring. And I have lost a lot of attraction for all the mainstream things. This all have started happening after I did 10 days Vipassana Meditation Course. Everything feels empty. I only find excitement in my work and time spend with close friends. Any thoughts? I am worried about my anhedoniac sexual activities as I am still in my 20s

is buddhism is not certainly the idealism or materialisn?Buddhism philosophy is about the consequence mechanism about five elements* and those elements aren't viewed as the material, antimatter or spirit. But the motion and change of them is showing that Buddha or at least the nearest original of his book want to say that the motion and objective reality(material or time) is real, and it sounds like materialism. But the motion is come from, where?isn't it an conscious, thinking of mind construct from data,to create the motion, the time concept and feeling about it?Some time buddhism mention about mind, but doesn't it say the mind is a part of motion of elements?

Discussing the Dharma, as on this site -- looking for and sharing information -- is it really beneficial or could it be a waste of time or even counterproductive? Several quotes come to mind, e.g. this one from Wumen Huikai: >The instant you speak about a thing, you miss the mark. and of course, Fen Yang: >When you are deluded and full of doubt, even a thousand books of scripture are not enough. When you have realized understanding, even one word is too much. From this and other sources (like Chogyam Trungpa's warnings about spiritual materialism) one might conclude that spending time on a site like this could be a path to illusion and a way to develop the subtle "enlightened" ego. What are the dangers of discussing Dharma on an online forum? How could it be worthwhile, if "speaking about a thing misses the mark" and "even one word is too much"?

live as if it was your last day?

So there is a lot of teaching out there focuses on meditating on death. A lot of it talks about living life as if it was your last day, week, month... in that this way, you don't take life for granted and it wakes you up instead of just passing time... These same teachings talk about how life should be lived in reality and not in your mind. My question is... isn't "pretending" it is your last "day", "week", "month"... itself a construction of the mind? Doesn't that distort reality? Is that really the "correct" thing to be practicing?

Would I need to be told of my condition by a teacher or close friend?
