Chating with girl that i want to marry

Assalamu alaikum, I want your opinion on this situation. Namely, I was in a haram relationship and thank God I got out, the girl is also religious, we simply broke up because we are not ready to get married etc. Is there a possibility that I can temporarily contact her once a month. We would only talk about our life, because there is inshaAllah high chance of us getting married in a few years so that we can somehow contact till that time may Allah reward you
