I can't find concise suttas in English anywhere. I found them before Google and Bing changed so that you can't find anything. By basic I mean all the suttas that you would hear at a meditation retreat or an extended retreat of 3 years. They don't have to be abridged. I just find short suttas more chantable. I like to understand them. I think maybe uderstanding the suttas as you chant them is just crazy enough to work. Just the English unless... Well, playing each Pali sentence with the English just throws me off unless the English is aligned with the Pali in such a way as to sound grammatically incorrect but understandable. That for me helps me understand the Pali because the English words are flowing in the same order as the Pali words. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you.

In English translation, the four elements are translated as 1. Earth 2. Fire 3. Air 4. Water Instead, if they are translated as below 1. solidity - the state of being solid with hardness and softness. 2. Heat - the state of getting heat with hot and cold both identified as heat. 3. Force - the state of pushing and pulling, or state of supporting and pushing 4. Liquidity - the state of coagulating and flow or dripping I am not a language expert but after studying four elements in Buddha's teachings and tipitaka the latter definitions seems more appropriate than Earth, Fire, Air and Water which have ambiguous meanings or are of less comprehensible. Is it possible that we can have better English translation for Four elements since Earth, Fire, Air and Water seems limited in sense? What could be the better translation to understand the nature, characteristics and two opposite edges of four elements?

I found "The Blessed One" in English translation of Suttas. Because in Buddhism blessing is not legit/proper word to use to anyone, especially Buddha need not to be blessed, is it loosely translated or in purpose? I didn't see any part of Sutta that one can be blessed or a meaning that blessing can be done so far. What should be proper translation of "The Blessed One" in Sutta if it is bad translation?

1. Is there any reference scheme for paragraph in Sutta? How it can be presented in numerical notation? 2. Is there any complete translation of all tipitaka into English language (not leaving any single Sutta without English translation)? And 3. Any good Pali-English online dictionary available?
