Does Allah communicate to his people through the means of Angels in present?

There's this cousin of mine, who claims that Allah sent him a message in the form of sound. Upon asking questions about it, he said that it wasn't Allah directly speaking to him but by the means of something else like an Angel. He won't tell me what Allah said to him which clearly made me think that there was something fishy about it. Yet I wanna know about it. I am looking for a reference from the Holy Qur'an to see wether or not, what he is saying is possible. Thank you :)
