Organization Called: "The Traditional Roman Catholic Church"! Are These People Really Catholic?
Their official website is [The Society of Saint Alphonsus Marie de Liguori]( https://trcatholics.org). They seem to be located in New Jersey, and call themselves "The Traditional Catholic Church." Their official website is [The Society of Saint Alphonsus Marie de Liguori]( https://trcatholics.org) . They seem to be located in New Jersey, and call themselves "The Traditional Catholic Church." But I am skeptical; for example, because they also claim to be "ALPHONSIAN REDEMPTORISTS" and show lots of pictures of St. Alphonsus Liguori. However, they do not (as far as I can tell) belong to the true *Redemptorists,* which was founded by St. Alphonsus Liguori and is officially named, the *Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer.* QUESTION: Can anyone tell me who these people are? They clearly are trying to give the impression that they are Catholic, but I have my doubts. It is not clear from their website that they are in communion with the Pope. Moreover, a Google search of their address: 300 Peach Street, Hammonton, New Jersey 08037 identifies them as [*St. Mark's Episcopal church*](https://www.waze.com/live-map/directions/us/nj/hammonton/saint-marks-episcopal-church?to=place.ChIJQc-iExkowYkRjJk5jVueonk)---but I could not such an identity on their website. (Maybe the link is outdated.)

Has the age of Confirmation Catholics changed since Vatican I?
There's some movement to a "restored" order for the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation, but with some sort of assumption that it should be received as early as age seven. There's some movement to a "restored" order for the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation, but with some sort of assumption that it should be received as early as age seven. I was listening to the Catholic Man Show [episode on teenagers](https://open.spotify.com/episode/5fuDGFpVtJnyYO5V4xZT7k?si=9983967898bc43a3) one of the hosts said that he didn't know the answer to this question and didn't get back to answering it. I teach a Confirmation class to high schoolers, the kind of material we go cover would go way over the heads of seven year olds (it barely resonates with teenagers), so I don't wholly understand how the same sort of formation would be possible for younger kids and as far as I can tell there is absolutely no formal preparation for confirmands in the Latin Rite as it currently stands. When I watch a movie like, the Song of Bernadette or hear stories about St. Therese, where these saints received the sacraments of initiation as teenagers, I have to think that the old ways were best. However, the normal age for confirmation hasn't really changed has it - or was there a period when Confirmation was received at an earlier age?

What does the phrase "Undermine the deposit of faith" mean?
Bishop Strickland was recently deposed by Pope Francis, ostensibly because he tweeted something about the Pope "undermining the deposit of faith". Is that a technical term or just a euphemism for heresy? Is it licit, under the auspices of Vatican I, to suspect that the Pope could be doing such a thi...

Objections to Natural Theology at the Time of Vatican I
The First Vatican Council, [*Dei Filius*][2] (1870) Dogmatic Constitution on the Catholic Faith defined the following: > If anyone shall have said that the one true God, our Creator and our Lord, cannot be known with certitude by those things which have been made, by the light of human reason: let h...
The First Vatican Council, *Dei Filius* (1870) Dogmatic Constitution on the Catholic Faith defined the following: > If anyone shall have said that the one true God, our Creator and our Lord, cannot be known with certitude by those things which have been made, by the light of human reason: let him be anathema. (Item #1 of **2. On revelation** set of canons ) From what I understand, this pronouncement was motivated at the time by those who were denying *natural theology*. Can someone elaborate on some of the specifics regarding those who were denying "natural theology" at the time that Pope Bl. Pius IX made this (*de fide*) declaration?
