Where exactly did the Angel salute the Blessed Virgin before the Annunciation?
We read about the introduction to Annunciation in Lk 1:28-29: > And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. We read about the introduction to Annunciation in Lk 1:28-29: > And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. Note the words "she was troubled at his saying". Luke does not say that Mary was taken aback to see a male stranger suddenly standing in front of her. Now, most of the images depicting the Annunciation show Mary kneeling down in contemplative prayer in a room, purportedly her at home. But, wouldn't she be startled to see a man appearing before her in the safety of her home? Is it possible that she was outside, tending the garden, or drawing water, or caring for the domestic cattle, or even shopping? Out of her home, she had the chances of meeting a stranger and not getting afraid. Or, is it possible that Mary had an intuition of the ensuing Annunciation, on account of which she was spending time in prayer and contemplation, remaining mostly at home? My question is: Are there any extrabiblical writings on where Blessed Virgin Mary was, at the time the Angel addressed her before the Annunciation?

As we know, Good Friday falls on March 25 (2016) this year. In Catholic and Orthodox Churches, March 25 is also the Feast of the Annunciation . A priest friend of mine, told me there was once a popular belief in the Middle Ages that the Annunciation coincided with Passion of Our Lord. Can anyone point out to any other sources that support such a popular belief did in fact exist? I have found two sources that seem to support this idea. The 2nd-century writer Irenaeus of Lyon regarded the conception of Jesus as 25 March coinciding with the Passion . The second piece to support this idea comes from the Liturgical Calendar of the Sarum Rite .One can see on page 3 that Annunciation and Good Friday are on March 25th. The Sarum Rite is a variation of the Roman Liturgy in use in England, up to 1559. **Addendum:** The Roman Martyrology commemorates the Feast of St Dismas on the 25th of March! St Dismas is the traditional name given to the Good Thief, who died on the cross next to Jesus at Golgotha.

For example I have more or less located a source for the Sacrifice of Isaac: [Are there any Jewish or Hebrew traditions that hold that the Passover and the binding of Isaac were on the same day (15 Nisan)?](https://judaism.stackexchange.com/q/94810/13061) Thus my question: **Can someone locate a Middle Ages reference source linking The Last Judgement to the Feast of the Annunciation or the Jewish Passover of 15 Nisan?**

We read in Luke 1:24-25 how Elizabeth, after conceiving John the Baptist, led a secluded life for five month, saying that God had taken away her disgrace of not having children. In first appearance, her hiding of the pregnancy does not go well with the sense of victory over the public disgrace. So, there could have been a reason behind the hiding. Incidentally, we see Blessed Virgin Mary staying with Elizabeth for three month after the Annunciation. Did she also want to stay away from the public view during the initial months of pregnancy? Did it have anything to do with the political scenario under the regime of Herod who might have imposed forced abortion on Jewish ladies of certain lineage for fear of the prophesied birth of the Messiah? My question therefore is: Did the Blessed Virgin Mary hide her pregnancy from public eye for sometime? Views of scholars of any denomination are welcome.
